The QB sweep to the short side of the field was a garbage call. But was it really that bad of a decision to throw a 5-yard out to Antonio Brown? He got open. He's one of the best players in the damn NFL...it's not like we threw the ball to Chris Hubbard...
Williams should have been pulled in the third quarter.

the call wasn't horrible, but again, you're putting the ball in the hands of a 34 year old QB who was never an accurate passer. Brown is one of the best damn players in the NFL, but he's not when you have no one to get the ball in has hands.

Yeah, I remember Scobee. He's the guy that Tomlin traded for to bring into town. The guy who started his Steeler career by missing his first two kicks against the Cheats on opening night. The same guy who missed his first extra point try the following week. Oh yes, I certainly remember him.

That's all hindsight reasoning. If Bell got stuffed in the backfield for a 2-yard loss, Tomlin would have gotten killed for being conservative. In the Baltimore game, Vick started quite slowly but then did manage to hit DHB for a TD and a beautiful throw that AB should have caught for a TD. He was actually giving us a pretty acceptable, Charlie Batch-like performance that was good enough to get a win.

What does hindsight have to do with watching the guy kick like **** once he got to town? It's the same thing with Jacoby, the guy looked like **** as soon as he hit town. And yet always with Tomlin, it takes until disaster for him to actually stop clinging to these vets in specialty roles.
And no one could have predicted that Scobee would just **** the bed. The guy had a 12-year track record that was pretty damn good. I understand not liking the trade because of the cost --- a draft pick plus Scobee came with a big *** salary (even after the Jags picked up $500,000) --- but we all had every reason to believe he would be a solid kicker for us.
Guys with long track records of success get a little more rope --- what's wrong with that? They've put good performances on tape for many years. I read a bunch of media types that thought Tomlin got rid of Scobee too soon, by the way.
But yet there are some here who thought he should of been given a chance to kick a FG late in the Baltimore game after he looked like **** the entire game. None of his kicks inspired confidence not even the makes.
Whether you Love him or hate Tomlin, it doesn't matter? I don't care which side of the fence you are on with Tomlin, Give me 1 good reason why Williams should be out there in the 4th quarter of a blowout? Not some "because we"re not *******" or He's 32 but but he split carries, blah blah. Yes he split carries until Carolina showed him the door because he could not stay healthy.

Agreed. We've seen enough crazy **** in the NFL to know it's better to leave your studs in the game a little too long rather than yanking them too early.

Ben's last snap was with nearly 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter, at the point the score was 35-10. That was going to be his last snap regardless as Landry Jones had his helmet and was warming up when they sent Brown out to receive the punt. The Colts had ZERO sacks the entire game...everyone needs to relax and stop analyzing every last detail to each and every game looking for something to complain about.

Yep, not to keep beating this to death cause it's old news now, but that thinking just doesn't work. If I need a stop both ways, then I'd rather need the stop when I have a lead, not when I'm trailing. And if I fail to convert the TD, but I also believe my D can give me one more stop, I'd rather it be when the other team is backed up inside the 5. I'm sorry, but the "it was 50-50" argument just doesn't fly with me. Taking the 3 was almost a give up call and I'm sure there was much rejoicing on the other sideline when the decision was made.

If you get a stop, which we didn't, is it easier to get a TD or another FG?
If we go for it and get stopped, Seattle has the ball at their own 1,2, or 3 yard line, do you think they'd be very cautious there? If we get a TD and Seattle's offense has to play from behind, I think they have to take more chances. I think no matter what there, if you go and get the TD, the pressure is on their O now, and if you go and get stopped they will be extremely safe playing from their own goal line. Take the FG and the pressure is still on our D, and we have to play a little reckless trying to get the ball back. IMO you help the defense more even you go for it and don't get the 6 than you do by kicking a FG and giving the ball to Seattle with the lead at the 20 or better.
