Pouncey needs surgery

A few of you are some of the worst fans I've ever seen. How the **** is this Pouncey's fault? How was it his fault in 2010. How was it his fault when DeCastro dove into him. To say that he shouldn't be a Steeler and shouldn't be payed because of some unfortunate injuries that were completely out of his control is ignorant and honestly just hateful. You should be hoping for a full recovery soon and be ready to root for him when he comes back. These type of responses when guys get hurt just make me sick.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be paid, but we made him the highest paid center EVER. As I said in other threads.... I wonder how we negotiate. If we even negotiate. Our last few signings have been more than I think our players are worth with the exception of Ben.

Not his fault
Nonetheless
China doll

Because "they" look to complain about everything that's not positive...

Personally I don't like the hood rat and hated hat we resigned him

I love Pouncey but this isn't going to drastically change our offensive production. He's missed a lot of time in his career and his replacement tends to perform up to "the standard" if you will

Did you see what happened to his ankle on the play. **** China doll the fact he even walked off the field at all makes him tougher than you or me!!

That looked brutal on replay. No one is tough enough to have their body bend that way.

All the more reason not to of paid him the money we did. What done is done though and hopefully he will be back with us near full strength by mid season.

Absolutely. Was nasty to watch and I've seen guys come away with worse injuries on similar plays.

And we all have seen some players walk away and come back in the next series.

All the toughness in the world doesn't allow your ankle or knee to bend in ways it is not designed for. If you think it has anything to do with being injury prone, or not being tough enough, you're are a troll with little understanding of body mechanics. I'd gladly bend your legs in those ways so you can experience it for yourself.

Good thing about Tuitt's injury, it appeared to be a sprain. Hopefully it's on the mild spectrum, but it didn't look to me like a break.

Fudge, fudge, fudge!!!! Bright side: he will miss half a season and should be back during the thick of things. Negative: he will miss a half a season.

I don't know what can be done when a player is rolled up on. He just has bad luck. Anyone that thinks the OL would be better w/o #53 is delusional. He's an All-Pro center for a reason. This is a big blow. Hopefully, they can find a decent scrapheap center to help out until MP returns. Cody Wallace is a back-up, nothing more.

No one touched Jordy Nelson and he is done for the year. I guess he is even more of a pansy then Pouncey Smh.. if your sentiments aren't get well soon your a prick. Worrying about how much he is paid like your paying it. The only place Pouncey is considered not the best center or close to it is this board. I could see if this was a case like Woodley where it was a case of not taking care of yourself. It's not. Hopefully Wallace can can step in and not slow us down.

Yep. Nelson has been hurt 1/2 the seasons he has been in also. And he is the highest paid WR also....Oh..Wait a second. Accidents happen. Pouncey has had his share of them. While you might think he is the Best I surely don't. I see him get pushed around more than I care to or miss his blocking assignments. He made all pro the one season when he was hurt. Half the time is just a popularity contest along with the probowl. While I was happy the Steelers resigned him when I saw what the money was for I was surprised. And yes. It is not my money but giving all these players we have recently signed more money than what they might get on the open market will handcuff us.

There is a thing called market value. The Steelers who are as frugal as they come paid the man what they obviously feel he is worth. If they didn't think he was worth it he wouldn't of gotten an offer. Missed blocking assignments?? Unless it's in the open field it's hard as hell to tell when a center missed a assignment especially when we don't know who the assignment was. As far as his injury two players fell on his ankle. Yes some players luckily escape injury and some do not. Just like Jordy Nelson injury sometimes it's an ankle sprain and sometimes it's a torn ACL from no contact. **** happens..the only sentiment should be get well soon

I see this Pouncy injury as a BIG blow to our OL unit. No QUESTION they will miss him. If anyone thinks he can be randomly replaced......... well, we will; see about that. I do hope they can find someone off waiver or internally steps up. Either way, we now have a ? at center.

Salute the nation

To me there is a difference between an "injury" and a boo boo. Some guys are soft. Shazier got that rap some last year. Some guys just can't stay healthy because of real injuries. Pouncey is just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. There is nothing physically wrong with him that is allowing him to be hurt.

Some players are unlucky.

If pounce wasn't so good at what he does he would never be that far out front on some of these plays he gets rolled up on... I mean if he just let his guy beat him he would get injured less... Mahan never got hurt like this... Niether did Chucky Okobi...lol:wink:

Some of you chicken littles need to pop a soma and relax, the offense will be fine in his absence.

Packers suffered a much bigger loss than we did today. Wallace will get the job done. Packers losing Jordy is big time.

A guy, whose name I can't mention, who writes for a newspaper I can't mention, reported that Pouncey was overheard after the game saying that if he needs surgery he might retire.

I can see being extremely depressed/upset by what happened. But this is taking it to another level.

So again, would someone explain to me what the sense of preseason games are again? Its too hot and sloppy out there this time of year. Its not the 60's anymore... these players don't need this kind of exhibition anymore...
