About 7 or 8 years ago I gave up on the Steelers getting to another Super Bowl as long as Shades was the head coach. NASCAR should be more interesting this year since they revamped the point system. Only a few weeks to go.I dont really give a ****. Steelers are going to do whatever they're going to do and whoever they pick, we'll all convince ourselves we now have a great coach.
Me? When the season starts, I'll watch the game , hope they win, and if not, oh well. Then, I go get dinner and go to work on Monday. Football doesn't affect me the way it did when I was in my 20s. Now it's just entertainment. Win? That's nice. Lose? That's nice. So it doesn't matter to me one bit who we get as coach.
We aren’t afraid to lose yards, first down? MehI guess going forward ............Slash will now been known as Diontae's Johnson ........ in recognition of Running it Backwards ...lol
Phoenix, you answered your own question.I'm not sure what I think about Flores as the possible next coach. He seemed to mostly not do great coaching Miami and clashed big time with a young Tua. He's definitely good as a DC, but I'm not sure about HC. If he can hire a great OC and actually let that person do his thing on offense, then maybe. Last thing I want to watch is another defensive guy with zero tolerance for the offensive side.
No clue why they are bringing in 62 year old Mike McCarthy since it goes against their norm of hiring younger guys. Maybe they are already sold on Flores and are now looking at an established veteran offensive minded coach to come in for a year or two as the OC?. Especially, if they want Rodgers back next year and think his former coach might help make him stick around.
Is NASCAR still a thingy?About 7 or 8 years ago I gave up on the Steelers getting to another Super Bowl as long as Shades was the head coach. NASCAR should be more interesting this year since they revamped the point system. Only a few weeks to go.
two years from now .......... it will probably just be Tesla EV vs Chinese import EVsIs NASCAR still a thingy?
Not lately. That’s why they lost a big lawsuit, fired some upper management, and going back to the old points system. Is NASCAR still a thingy?
While the NFL has always been a business, at one point in my live I perceived it as more of a sport than a cash cow.I dont really give a ****. Steelers are going to do whatever they're going to do and whoever they pick, we'll all convince ourselves we now have a great coach.

Stark Motorcycles are kicking the **** out of the gas competitors on some of the top circuits. Pretty soon, motocross is going to sound like a bunch of drones hizzing around.two years from now .......... it will probably just be Tesla EV vs Chinese import EVs
I fully endorse this (as if that really means anything); but I have a feeling Sheelhaase is who they're waiting on and Cleveland is the weird outlier than could mess up the plan because their QB situation is more defined than ours...I don't think there's a lot of overlap with who they're looking at/who they want. I posted this in another thread:
Steelers candidates:
Nate Scheelhaase (Baltimore, Cleveland, Las Vegas)
Chris Shula (Arizona, Baltimore, Miami, Tennessee)
Anthony Weaver (Arizona, Baltimore)
Brian Flores (Baltimore)
Jesse Minter (Arizona, Baltimore, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Miami, Tennessee)
Ejiro Evero (Las Vegas)
Jeff Hafley (Arizona, Las Vegas, Miami, Tennessee)
Klay Kubiak
Mike McCarthy (Tennessee)
New York and Atlanta hired the AFCN coaches, who weren't on the Steelers' radar. I don't think Buffalo will go in the same direction as the Steelers either. Tennessee (rumored Nagy, Saleh, Hafley) and Miami (Hafley expected leading candidate) also don't seem focused on the Steelers' leading candidates.
Cleveland is a mystery with numerous second-round interviews (Monken, Schwartz, Minter, McDaniel, Scheelhaase, Udinski).
That leaves Arizona, Baltimore, and Las Vegas. Of this group, Minter and Kubiak are likely leading candidates.
Shula had 7 interview requests and only completed 5, meaning he probably feels good about getting one of the jobs.
Is it though. I mean, Gabriel and Sanders both had a fair amount of snaps this year; but, neither of them made you think they were the second coming of (insert good to great QB name). They do have a better opportunity to upgrade via the draft, but this years' QB class is "eh'.I fully endorse this (as if that really means anything); but I have a feeling Sheelhaase is who they're waiting on and Cleveland is the weird outlier than could mess up the plan because their QB situation is more defined than ours...
I kept thinking it was a Shula then double up and grab Nate as an OC.I fully endorse this (as if that really means anything); but I have a feeling Sheelhaase is who they're waiting on and Cleveland is the weird outlier than could mess up the plan because their QB situation is more defined than ours...
The Brown's QB situation is more defined because it definitely sucks. The Steelers' is TBD. That said, if Dan Marino in his prime was on the Browns, I don't think I'd want to be their coach. It's the factory of sadness.I fully endorse this (as if that really means anything); but I have a feeling Sheelhaase is who they're waiting on and Cleveland is the weird outlier than could mess up the plan because their QB situation is more defined than ours...
I believe a new HC has an advantage at Cleveland because of the valuable small count data/film that they already have.Is it though. I want to see new age football concepts on offense. Nate is my first choice plus most of my research compares him to Coach McVay and that's a good thing...I kept thinking it was a Shula then double up and grab Nate as an OC.
I do feel it is going to be one or the other.
Would you be happy with either or?
Rudy is Mac Jones... my adoration for the boy from Bama soured when he dawned that awful uni from the *'s...Maybe it will be Kubiak and he will bring Mac Jones with him. I know that's not immediately appealing, but Jones played really well in the 49s offense.
Gotya but as a secondary option would you be happy with Shula?I want to see new age football concepts on offense. Nate is my first choice plus most of my research compares him to Coach McVay and that's a good thing...
That is a thought. And, a plausible one at that.Maybe it will be Kubiak and he will bring Mac Jones with him. I know that's not immediately appealing, but Jones played really well in the 49s offense.
Those are the two youngest candidates, right? Then for me, the answer is yes. Not because of age, but because they are the two most likely to bring modern, up to date, concepts of their own to this team, and hire coordinators and staff who will do the same as far as implementing modern concepts.Gotya but as a secondary option would you be happy with Shula?
Scheelhaase is probably the biggest swing, possibly biggest risk as well. However, if this team was serious about change, this would be the direction they'll go. I think he's probably my top choice as well. I also think I've talked myself completely out of Flores. His offensive hires were dreadful and the idea of winning with defense and safe, turnover free offense is way too fresh in my head.I want to see new age football concepts on offense. I used to think the same, but I don't think so anymore. Some guys just need to develop and I think Mac can be a decent starter in the right offense. That's not true of Rudy.Rudy is Mac Jones... my adoration for the boy from Bama soured when he dawned that awful uni from the *'s...![]()
Have to pull for a Seattle victory or else they'll have to wait until after the Super Bowl and no one want that. The sooner that the Rams lose - the quicker our future brightens IMO...
