I saw the talking heads on espn chatting it up about the next Super Bowl

Apparently the early favorites are Seattle and Indy in the Super Bowl.
Followed closely by Seattle and the P*ts.

Which made me wonder if it would be in the NFL's best interest to have/not have the P*ts in the Super Bowl. I feel some of these games are a bit bias towards certain teams for revenue purposes. Especially when it comes to g*lden b*y and the P*ts.

With the recent turn of events, I'd imagine it to be hard for the NFL to allow the P*ts back in the Super Bowl until after Br*dy and Darth H**die retire. It may cause a slight uptick in revenue, but long-term it would only lead the casual fan to more consider the NFL as a glamorized version of the WWE.

or IF Br*dy were to win another Lombardi, and this one were with properly inflated balls, no technical miscues, no cameras, then maybe he'd be vindicated by some. Not me, but some.

Seattle vs Indy would feature two mostly young teams with young QBs getting into their prime. That would set up for a large amount of revenue going forward.

I think wig could help you with that conspiracy theory

I really don't think the game(s) are fixed in any way.

I think it's very hard to subtlety influence a one-and-done playoff format to try and create what you want from a league perspective. I think the randomness and variety of penalties and odd things over the years is just normal statistical variations.

Of all the sports, the NFL is least effected by "big market" forces. People watch the Super Bowl no matter if Indianapolis, Seattle, Pittsburgh or New York is playing. And the add revenue is "fixed" way before the teams are decided.

I just see no good statistical evidence that the league favors any one team over another.

Seattle simply adding Jimmy Graham made that offense that much more potent. As long as Russell Wilson is their man, sky's the limit. I like how he plays and his fearlessness. Kinda like a Mini-Ben. If the Steelers offense can produce like it did and like it should on paper, and if the defense turns out above average, we could see Pitt vs Indy in the AFC Championship Game..

What do the Colts have that the Steelers don't? Ben threw 6 touchdowns and 500+ yards on their defense. Hmmm

they look good on paper, in May. So do a lot of teams. Luck could go down in Training Camp and the whole AFC landscape changes. They must put the "good teams" on a dart board and go out of a limb to pick the early favs to make it to the SB. They have as much of an idea what will happen in January as we do. Um, I'm picking Buffalo and Arizona. They have as much chance as SEA and IND meeting in Feb.

No talk of Pit being in the SB? I like that. Those are the years we make a run!

The Colts basically signed a bunch of over the hill FA's. So with the name recognition of those players they're getting a lot of hype on paper. But as the Broncos learned last year, big signings of over the hill players won't necessarily buy you a Lombardi.

Pittsburgh STEELERS, ever hear of them???????? What are their chances, you know, this time of year?
As good or better than the colts. Shlit

they are due for an early bounce. They have the talent get back, but something has to go against them such as injuries, hot team, scoring rut, etc.
Definitely agree. They have been very lucky to get to the SB 2 years in a row. Things definitely bounced their way most of the time.

Seattle won't make it back for the 3rd year in a row.

Agree. It's too tough to get there three years in a row. I don't think anyone has done that since Buffalo made four in a row (and lost every one). Hoodie will find a way to get close though, remember he was 15-0 after Spygate and running up the scores until they ran into David Tyree and the Giants changed signals in the SB. Even if Brady is out for four games that doesn't mean a lot in the grand scheme of things in their suck-*** division. All he has to do is get in the playoffs and in the AFC East 10-6 or 9-7 can win the division.

15-0 after spygate, even after the "tapes" were destroyed,.......... supposedly. This is reason why I can't believe this cheating hasn't been blasted to the wall. defated footballs, non cooperation, video of bathroom trip, text messages.......... NAIL the basTURD to the wall !!!!! YET slap slap, move along, .

I agree. The super bowl loss tends to drop teams down a peg or two in the next season.

I think Green Bay or Dallas will pass Seattle this season.

I'm out there... lurking in the deeper waters. Just beyond the reef.

if you see the AFC there's no real juggernaut that can't be beaten, especially after the *s got caught. I like our chances this year

I think we have the talent to do well. Our D has to stay healthy with the younger folk to see what they are really worth and, staying together should help them play better as a unit. I don't think our D has to be stellar for us to go far, but it does have to be average, or just above.

I think, really, if we can increase our results in two places, the rest would fall into place. Those two places are turnovers (generally meaning INT's) and Sacks. Worilds, Hayward and Harrison generated quite a few Quarterback Hits, but being close-but-no-cigar isn't enough, it seems.

Add to this that Moats was able to generate some sacks while going against LT's with Worilds on the other side. Presumably, he should be able to generate even better results when the OL has to worry about Harrison on the other side vs. Worilds.

Tapes might be gone but the signals and what they signify are still there someplace, likely in a computer data base with the plays they signify. Earlier in a thread the giants changed signals for the super bowl and won must have had something to do with it. They are likely still using mikes on linemen on defense and offense so as to hear other teams signals and likely mikes around the other teams bench and locker rooms as well as the upper area that teams use above the field.

One way to catch them at this would be to send feed back into the mike and see who peels off a headset in a hurry or reacts to it. I am convinced the ******* are still cheating because it worked and that is the only thing that separates that team from the rest of the nfl.

Steelers vs. Giants. Call me crazy.

I'm not going to call you crazy or anything else but I do not think the steelers get into the playoffs this year. I suspect a major rebuild to take place with the steelers losing lots of very close contests that the newer guys missed a play or two that they would not have later on. I suspect we will see some foreshadowing of great things to come but will have many instances of growing pains this year and maybe next and lots of turnover on the roster while a new team is put together.
