College Football Week 1

Yeah, looking at their schedule, you have to wonder if Bama will be .500ish.
Not so sure. For a good team, a loss like this makes them better. Bama has a lot of legacy, etc. They could really benefit from this loss.

Saw that Bama fan flip off the camera. I thought of you Berm. You have more class than that, but you probably understood his sentiment.

Plus there is probably no network cameras near you right now.

23 years is a good run. Enjoy that legacy. It just hurts when it is over.
Yep. No team is elite forever. Ohio State will fall eventually too. They all do.

well Berms Tide bite the dust the first week, warriors doesn't feel much better about my wolverines this year. could be a long college season for both us brother.

That’s a Tomlinship! It would be a brilliant coaching job overcoming a flawed roster, right? I mean that QB just isn’t good enough, that poor head coach would have done a great job with what he had…

Yeah, but how about my Aztecs???

San Diego st to the Natty... Probably got just as good a chance as we do. MI starting an 18 year old and a being coached by someone I would consider a straight up trade for Tomlin

Oh cripes, most every team does this every year. Hell, Florida is playing Long Island. Raise your hand if you knew that was even a school. Every now and again, top teams play top teams out of conference. It’s an anomaly more than it is a norm.
Not every school has the cojones to open up with Duquesne.

what a block by Underwood. The kid wants to play. damn I think he has only missed on one pass so far.

Watching LSU-Clemson. Absolute kudos to teams like Texas and LSU, willing to go on the road against top-flight competition week 1.

But unless Florida State was just under-rated, I’m wondering if Bama is a good team, especially in the SEC. They lost by 14 to 13 point dogs.

The ref for the Clemson / LSU game used to be vice president of the chess club in 4th grade.

Not for nothing, but Texas opened against perennial powerhouse Colorado State last year. Missed you in here bitching about it.

After today’s game, they play SJSU, UTEP and Sam Houston. National Championship contenders all, I tell ya.

don't forget, Big 10 plays 9 conference games, so they only schedule 3 games themselves. With 9 conference games, it means some years you will only have 4 conference home games. In those years you must schedule 3 home games out of conference. That's just the economics of the game, especially now with NIL.

The SEC still plays 8 games, although they will be switching to 9 in the future. They have more control over scheduling. SEC teams also tend to schedule a cupcake in November.

This flickering the lights thing should be illegal. If you want to do it between quarters, fine. But no team should be in a huddle on the field with the lights flickering.

Jerra has almost a year to convince Grandad Archie that Arch can be the next Aikman/Staubach and figure out how to pay him more than Hook'em Horns alumni.

The Mannings are smart. They know that the key to making real bank is getting to the NFL free agency period as a rising star as quickly as possible

Yeah maybe 6.8 million per season sounds big to you and me, but a meh starting QB with high draft pedigree going into year 4 they are signing a 50 million plus per year extention

Hell for a top overall pick... well look at trevor Lawerence... ok starter, top overall pick... in 2021... his rookie deal was 9 million per. Three years in he signed a 5 year extension for 275 million dollars...

If you know you have a path to reasonable success, you get in asap
