With the 102nd overall pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select OLB Alex Highsmith

If you say so slick. Everyone is entitled to their own delusions. On a good note (for you), your delusion means you can continue fellating yourself for the rest of the night.

Yep, every ******* is entitled to their opinion. And every other ******* is entitled to call them out on it.

This is what you said:

"Yea, all of the lower level college linebacker picks we've wasted by drafting them."

Except by defintion, it's impossible for the Steelers to have wasted a draft pick on an undrafted player. C'mon, bro, you're making this too easy.

Wasting draft picks on small players is your argument. Stating we can find all world starters at linebacker from small schools is my argument.

One year of production at Charlotte after having 6 sacks in his first 3 seasons isn't enough for me, but I hope you're right.
First pick was a year wonder. As you go in the draft you have to give a little to get a little and hope for the best. Trust me it is preferred some production over prospects that look like Tarzan play like Jane. At least we have something to work off of. Ideally you like 2 years to go off of. But just not realistic to think that will always line up for you. And if it does what other concerns are you getting as a substitute? Remember even a raw Bud slid to the Steelers in 1. Pass rushers are just hard to come by with all the boxes checked off. We have to just hope for the best and know he at least has a year of impressive production, isn't below the line physically, isn't a medical risk, and comes with an array of pass rushing moves. If the team can get even an effective rotate in pass rusher with what is a hickup away from 4th round pick we can consider that a win.

I would have taken Perine the back out of Florida (we were playing friggin Edmonds last year for God's sake) or a big tackle or guard for depth (maybe Adam's from Washington) or for God's sake I'd take ******* frome....he isnt better than duck **** face? Seriously? This kid will suck suck suck....how about a tight end ....that kid Bryant......the point is they picked uk a guy who would have went undrafted in the 2rd round

i mean, i can't say that i followed him extensively at the college level, but based on some of the highlights i saw of him this weekend, i find it pretty laughable to think that he was going to be "undrafted". maybe he goes a round or two later, but SOMEBODY was drafting Highsmith.

I found this article interesting because it speaks to the lack of production in his first couple years. The reason his sacks shot up this past year was because they actually released him to rush the QB. They changed their whole scheme up which allowed him to rush the QB more. I think it would also be fair to say that 95% of the people on this board have never seen the guy play a down and close to that percentage never even heard of him before. Before jumping to conclusions and labeling him a bust let’s wait and see how he develops at the next level. Personally I’m excited to see him develop and hope he can do everything the team expects from him and more.

Too young to say my old man joke. It was going to be, "you're passed feeling old"

Come back in 8 years I won't remember this day. it will be just like I thought of it.

Still won't be overly funny but that is another issue entirely.

8 years, damn I'll forget. LOL

I tell you I was looking at his sack compilation and this one particular sack he reminded me of Deebo with an excellent bend around the tackle. I can understand why he did so well in his senior year. Pack some muscle on him and I can see an effective pass rusher.

All I can say is....

I hope my opinion of this pick was a uninformed, unnecessary, knee-jerked reaction.

Yes, my "delusion" that the Steelers drafted a player too early means I can continue fellating myself.

Good one. Great comeback.

You're ******* delusional kid, but if you think coming on at night talking like a smartass know-it-all douchebag, prepare for some blowback.

As opposed to coming on during the day? I don't know it all. Neither do you, and for that matter, neither do the Steelers. The draft is an inexact science, but we're all entitled to our opinions. Even you.

I actually didn't include you in the ***-kicking reference, but welcome to the club.

Nice to see you can self-evaluate, at least.
