Clark Haggans -- a mediocre 'tweener drafted in the (a real shocker here) FIFTH round. Sounds like a high ceiling for your man.

You mentioned the 3-cone time in your original post. After I pointed out that the time was not similar at all, you then chose to omit it in a later post, because it makes no sense to have listed it in your argument.

I actually think there are legitimate concerns about every one of our 2020 picks. More so than even in most years.

It's obviously ALWAYS a crap shoot. Always a lottery ticket. Always a chance for every prospects to make it and contribute. Always a chance for each to be a complete failure.

The draft is always about skewing those inherent odds more in your favor. Its arguably ALL about that. All the workouts, all the film watching, all the interviews: can I skew the normal results of a pick #55 or pick #99 more in favor of success. Can I get more out of this pick than the AVERAGE team.

Even "success" is a variable as some prospects are boom/bust and others solid contributors but never great. Some are fires that burn bright and short and give you a few amazing years, others are long-term guys that are on your roster for a decade as a backup.

I have NO idea what the expectations are for these players. Maybe Tombert purposely picked Highsmith only to be good on special teams, be a backup OLB and be a good locker room guy. Maybe that's all they want for this pick to be a success in their opinion. Maybe they'll give him a 2nd contract just on that.

Who knows anymore.

I like this topseed guy. Agree with him or don't, he is entertaining. Made me laugh several times. I appreciate that, especially on a gloomy day like today.
 
Nice read Cope and I'm hooked on this kid. He has all the maikngs (including team helmet that will fit). Time will lay it all out but currently he will push for snaps pending on how much training camp they get. He is to green to walk in and demand playing time but then again he was a walk on in the past and excelled.

I wonder if her could load up his 2 duffel bags and go visit our DC by accident..............

So he knows the NFL rules prevent him from consulting with the new coach, unless your name is Tammy of course, but no rule against playing some Madden, right?? RIGHT?

So he and Butler spend 2, uhh, 12 hours playing Madden and talking about the 3-4, 2-5-4, 3-3-5, etc. defenses, the five technique, and coverage for an OLB in a base 3-4, or the nickel or dime versions.

Because Madden, people! And the NFL has already made clear that is just fine, yep, perfectly okey-*******-doke.
