Will Ben get to another lwoB repuS?

**** he could still win one this year. Offense looked bad for most of the game but the defense looked damn good for most of the game. If he gets his **** together there is still a good chance this team can be up there.

At this point in his career. I don't think so. Unless some type of coaching philosophy changes the attitude and the x's and o's. The Steelers have actually regresssed

yinz are sure the coach won't hold this team back at some point?

He can, but they need to hope all those defensive draft picks, and any in the next draft, all play up to their full value.
Because right now the defense is full of high picks that play like ****.

So the better question is: will this franchise rebuild the defense fast enough to take advantage of their Hall of Fame quarterback?
They have two years to get it done, IMO.

Ben was a major part of the reason we lost today. He missed a lot of throws. That said, they ran a conservative, vanilla offense for three quarters. The offense they run with Landry Jones. It's one thing to run regardless of look, and ask Jones to play check down. It's another to ask Ben to do it, he just isn't wired to take what the defense gives him. Today's offense was embarrassing. The ST coach should be fired at least for a worse than MS level performance today too. And as bad as all of that is, our division is ***, so we can get into the playoff's. If we're healthy I'll take my chances.

I do agree with you about the overall offensive gameplan. That being said, there were too many misses when Ben had his opportunities. He seems to not be in rhythm with any of the receivers a problem that's persisted all season, he was skittish in the pocket early on, he threw into double and triple coverage way to much(even one play where there was only one Steeler player and 5 raven defenders), and he threw another interception to a defensive lineman. I dunno why, but it seems like he's thrown an awful lot of ints to ******* defensive lineman. I get that it was a batted ball, but still.

Heyward and Tuitt are nice players on the DL. Hargrave is still a question.

When healthy, Shazier is a star and we have a couple of guys who can play next to him. Jarvis is JAG and Dupree is a question.

Burns looks like he can be a nice player, but a lot of questions in the secondary. This team still needs a pass rusher for the defense to take the next step.

Considering that they've mostly ****** up the draft on the defensive side for ten years, I'll say probably not.

If there was ever a time to trade for a pass rusher of some sort, now would be the time. I doubt we hit on another franchise QB in the next few drafts.

Same old same old. When we win Tomlin gets zero credit and when we lose it is all his fault. And no....I am not a Tomlin supporter, but give me a break. We had our QB missing throws by yards. Our WR's dropping passes when he did get the passes to them later in the game. A billion penalties. That all falls on the players on execution.

Defense played very well today. They played winning football. And it was highlighted by a lot of the young guys making plays (shazier, burns, tuitt, Heyward, Hargrave showed a little bit, even jones had a solid game).

Who is in charge of getting the players to execute? If things aren't working, who's responsibility is it to adjust the game plan to put the players in position to succeed?

No, he will not. If all games could be played in Pittsburgh, then he would have a chance.
Unfortunately, he must go and play well on road occasionally. Unfortunately, Ben has been absolutely terrible in road games for quite some time. When it comes to road games, he might not even be a top 10 QB.

There are times when he makes you really makes you scratch your head and wonder how the **** he's managed to make it this far. Today, it was only the first 50 minutes of the game.

So Ben missing WR's by yards is the HC's fault? Coates dropping a TD pass is the HC's fault. Brown was dropping balls. The players had every type of penalty possible this week. Noise was the biggest factor. Again the HC's fault because guys were jumping a 1/2 a second early on plays. Player jumping off sides...HC's fault? Gotcha...

What did you see in the second half - aside from a couple meaningless scores at the end - that indicated Tomlin and the coaching staff did anything to correct the problems in the first half? That's on coaching.

you are right same ol same ol

defend Tomlin to the end !

it's the players guysms!

its the payers who don't bench under-performing players!

it's the players fault because they aren't focused and slow out of the gates!

it's the players fault for the years of losing badly to ****** teams!

it's the players fault no matter the trends!

or isssssssssit A elite QB covering up for a clueless head coach that would have ben canned by now if it wasn't for Ben bailing him out time and time again with his elite skills and desire?

it isn't Tommy Toms fault honest!

It only took 21 years the last time, except for Bubby.

Again with Ben missing WR's by yards and the WR's dropping balls....if you want to argue maybe Ben should of been benched...Ben was horrible for 3 plus quarters.....if you want to argue that Tomlin should of benched him....I see giving Tomlin **** over that. Defense did their jobs today for the most part exceept for one play. Again 2 players missed tackles on that play also.

Again...I personally do not care for Tomlin. You will never find a post of me ever saying that I like him. NEVER!.....but the players played like **** today.

I thought the answer was yes until today. Not with this coaching staff. We are the opposite of the Patriots whereby we consistently play below our talent level while the Patriots are rarely embarassed on the field and consistently win with average players and backups in many positions. I hate the Patriots and Belichck but you can't say he isn't the best coach in the league...

Without Tomlin, yes. With him no. It's flea the steelers blow too many games to teams that have losing records when we play them and it cost us seeding in the playoffs and not making the playoffs at all.

Again this isn't JUST a today problem

this is a trend

Let's not confuse a ****** Baltimore offense with a good Steeler defense. We'll see how good this defense is next week.

You can spell out Super Bowl, it no longer matters. With Tomlin as head coach Ben will struggle through his final years without sniffing another one. And we lose to Dallas next week in a blowout. How many times did they run Bell up the middle for no or minimal gain yet they did it over and over. How many times have we seen no adjustments whatsoever coming out for the second half. Two late touchdowns to make the game look close when it really wasn't. I really thought at halftime that 10 points was all the Ravens would need.

Cowher's players. :deadhorse:

I say this and they fall from trees, never ending to claim I am hidden Pats fan. I guess the truth hurts. Our coaching staff just sucks; the only coach worth a damn in Munch. And he is good. Our D just keeps getting worse, no matter how many draft picks we throw at it, and when it is obvious that we have a failed draft pick (both Jones) the team can't admit a mistake and move on, as the Pats and Hoodie always seem quite able to move on. No, in Pgh, we have to pretend a player is much better than he is, rather than admit a mad decision was made.

How is our D doing these days? Butler? What has he done to improve it? How is our never-been-vetted DB coach doing? Lake was a great player, but what are his credentials as a coach?

Being so inferior at coaching will not allow for another ring. We can just accept our fate that as long as Cool Shades is here, we never sniff another ring. It is over.

Yes, because the HC isn't supposed to make a team focused and prepared (sarcasm).....I guess. I guess the "Focus Fairy" is supposed to have that job. Fire the Focus Fairy.
