For the big announcement of changes are needed all we have seen is a no matter , with Porter let go.
Speaks volumes about the quality of assistants Shades has had and also speaks profoundly to the low regard the rest of the NFL has for this staff.
It's almost like the league knows that, despite all the non-losing seasons, the Steelers are not well coached.
Munchack may break the trend of Tomlin assistants no being hired as HCs, but Munchack was already highly regarded before he came to the Steelers.
Who the hell knew who Dom Campers, Chan Gailey, Jim Haslett, Ken Whisenhunt or Mike Mularkey were before they worked for Cowher?
I'm not sure how any coaches under him would become a head coach when Tomlin has zero responsibility here. You can't take credit for a coordinator becoming a HC when he's already been a HC. The Steelers are lucky they had him as long as they did.

Bruce was a Cowher hire. The Bruce, who oddly was a better HC than he was a coordinator.
As WR coach but he was promoted to coordinator by Shades.Bruce was a Cowher hire.
Could be many things, who knows? Perhaps Saxon's interaction with players, attention to detail (see JaySam's passpro), or simply not being satisfied overall with what an assistant coach was bringing to the table. Looks like Tomlin is doing what he promised, to take a long, hard look at his entire staff and proceed methodically. Can't fault him for wanting to make changes. So we're down 1 assistant on offense and defense...who's next?
The water-boy, they are searching through every blade of grass leaving no stones unturned..
I would believe this statement if "Spinthenfall" was still active as grass blades had a lot to do with his production.....................................
Salute the nation
What about the past few years? Tomlin was getting involved in Lebeaus final season.
We played more zone than any team in the NFL Lebeaus final season, and that was put on Lebeau saying the game passed him by, then the first season without Lebeau we played more zone again, while Lebeau went to Tennessee and played more man than anyone.
The constant usage of 2 Dlinemen, especially on short yardage and goal line situations is beyond stupid. 3rd and 20 and we play cover 4 and drop beyond the first down marker and give Brees all day.

The RBs coach? Seriously? I thought Connor and the rest of them did quite well. WTF?
Yep, but when he was let go alot said the game passed him by and he wouldn't play more man.Didnt we always play zone under Lebeau? Zone/blitz?
