Why haven’t they fired Butler yet? Oh no?

For the big announcement of changes are needed all we have seen is a no matter , with Porter let go.

Speaks volumes about the quality of assistants Shades has had and also speaks profoundly to the low regard the rest of the NFL has for this staff.

It's almost like the league knows that, despite all the non-losing seasons, the Steelers are not well coached.

Munchack may break the trend of Tomlin assistants no being hired as HCs, but Munchack was already highly regarded before he came to the Steelers.

Who the hell knew who Dom Campers, Chan Gailey, Jim Haslett, Ken Whisenhunt or Mike Mularkey were before they worked for Cowher?

Munchak was such a gift. Remember the dumpster fire this line used to be. I still say I'd pay him a hell of a lot of money to stay and then he doesn't need to be the 60 hour a week guy.

You can't take credit for a coordinator becoming a HC when he's already been a HC. The Steelers are lucky they had him as long as they did.

I'm not sure how any coaches under him would become a head coach when Tomlin has zero responsibility here.

The Bruce, who oddly was a better HC than he was a coordinator.

The RBs coach? Seriously? I thought Connor and the rest of them did quite well. WTF?

Starting small and working their way up.................................I hope

Could be many things, who knows? Perhaps Saxon's interaction with players, attention to detail (see JaySam's passpro), or simply not being satisfied overall with what an assistant coach was bringing to the table. Looks like Tomlin is doing what he promised, to take a long, hard look at his entire staff and proceed methodically. Can't fault him for wanting to make changes. So we're down 1 assistant on offense and defense...who's next?

Sacrificial lambs to save our idiot FAKE PUNT coach's ***, lol

I would believe this statement if "Spinthenfall" was still active as grass blades had a lot to do with his production.....................................

always loved that nickname.

What about the past few years? Tomlin was getting involved in Lebeaus final season.
We played more zone than any team in the NFL Lebeaus final season, and that was put on Lebeau saying the game passed him by, then the first season without Lebeau we played more zone again, while Lebeau went to Tennessee and played more man than anyone.
The constant usage of 2 Dlinemen, especially on short yardage and goal line situations is beyond stupid. 3rd and 20 and we play cover 4 and drop beyond the first down marker and give Brees all day.

Didnt we always play zone under Lebeau? Zone/blitz?

The worst part of the team. The part that has not improved at all since LeBeau left and has let the team down countless times. And, we will have no significant change in coaching once again. Even if it were Butler being canned as the scapegoat, it would point toward Rooney's understanding Tomlin needs to stay the **** out of the D (coaching and play calling). We can hold out hope until the end of next week but I just don't see it happening.

Or perhaps his interactions with other coaches. Heard something about he and Fichtner not exactly seeing eye to eye. But the running game sure as hell wasn't the problem.
