Why Doesn't Bienemy Have A Hed Coaching Gig?

Ive heard about Bienemy’s skeletons before... it’s possible tgere are more and people fear a deeper dive into it will dredge them up

Then again it’s possible he interviews poorly or doesn’t have the traits people are looking at for a head coach

A DUI shouldn’t be an impediment to anyone getting a job. Living in Florida, where it’s little more than a cash grab, and at least 55% of ppl have been pulled over for one — even if was lawyered down to reckless.

The other stuff I know nothing about, but if he’s not interviewing well...it’s not a stretch to believe he’s in right place with Mahomes at right time

Watson is practically demanding he be coach in Houston so yeah, he probably will get a job. I just get tired of him being talked about like he's some coaching God and him not having a HC job is an injustice.

People also ignore that coaches who go deep in the playoffs are often at a huge disadvantage in getting head coaching jobs. Lots of Pats assistants had been passed over for year simply due to that fact. I do think that's a stupid reason. In college it makes sense to want to hire a new coach ASAP because of recruiting. But for the NFL, i never understood why teams didn't want to wait for the playoffs to be over to interview some coaches. Regardless, it is a real factor that is also working against Bienemy.

Teams want to get new staff in place ASAP too, it’s not just the head coach but building a staff. Tomlin had it easy in he really kept many pieces in place. (Before the obligatory Tomlin bashing occurs, Mike Martz & Jim Caldwell had same).

Cowher faced more struggles as the last of 6 hired in 1992. He wanted Lindy Infante as OC (but Infante wanted to be Head Coach again), Ron Erhardt wasn’t “hot” (1 year after winning 2nd Super Bowl as OC, was demoted by Giants new coach Ray Handley). His philosophy was not keeping up with increased passing league , the same reasons he was phased out for Chan Gailey in 1995.

Dick LeBeau was “hot” in 1988 as Bengals DC, but dropped down considerably by 1991 just like Bengals did, proved to be real reason behind Dom Capers perceived success. Ironic—Capers was riding high coming off 1-year of Saints success (#1 defense 1st Division title)as DB Coach & hired to be DC while LeBeau was a play away from being the DC that beat Montana in Super Bowl & became our DB coach.

It worked out for Cowher because of talent already built but took few years for the right assistants ascended & did team.
