It's that time of year when the media DEMANDS that Bienemy be named HC somewhere or else there's some kind of racism afoot. Let's look at the Pros and Cons

Pro
OC of probably the best offense in the league

Con
How much is him and how much is Mahomes?
How much is him and how much is Andy Reid?

And then there's his character. Funny that the fawning articles never seem to mention the following

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/os-xpm-1993-09-27-9309270294-story.html

Bienemy was arrested when he was a Chargers player for choking and threatening a female parking lot attendant. Then him and his friend dropped their pants and started peeing everywhere. His buddies then assaulted another attendant

Bienemy was banned from Univ of Colorado campus.

Bienemy has a DUI

Bienemy was the main recruiter at Colorado when the program was accused of using sex to lure recruits. A former student alleged she was raped at a recruiting party.

Are all these things in the past and he's cleaned up his act or is he just not a good guy? These are legit concerns.

Wow never knew any of that about his past. Of course the media isn’t going to bring that up.. you only hear that every owner/team is a bunch of racists for not hiring him.

Yeah.. I’d say all those are some cause for concern.

There is an article on Yahoo Sports lamenting that he hasn’t been hired. It mentions he had some legal issues 30 years ago without getting specific.

I think he'll get a gig once KC's season is over.

Watson is practically demanding he be coach in Houston so yeah, he probably will get a job. I just get tired of him being talked about like he's some coaching God and him not having a HC job is an injustice.

People also ignore that coaches who go deep in the playoffs are often at a huge disadvantage in getting head coaching jobs. Lots of Pats assistants had been passed over for year simply due to that fact. I do think that's a stupid reason. In college it makes sense to want to hire a new coach ASAP because of recruiting. But for the NFL, i never understood why teams didn't want to wait for the playoffs to be over to interview some coaches. Regardless, it is a real factor that is also working against Bienemy.

Wow he had lots of issues. Never heard any of that.

Keep in mind also that if Bienemy is hired by another team...it is KANSAS CITY who will get the compensatory draft picks for losing a minority coach...what team wants to give the Chiefs more draft picks?. Its almost as if the NFL sat down and said "hmm...how can we make it harder for black coaches to get hired?"

I think the same reason Bills OC has not been hired (I believe). They wait to announce after the team is done to avoid appearance of distraction.

Was it Bienemy's gun that shot Peezey in the *** while in Colorado? Inquireing minds want to know.

I thin k the term was Butt as "they shot me in the butt"

Just sayiN

Maybe they should give the team hiring a minority HC the draft pick.....if they want to get minorities hired....and giving out draft picks that is.

His resume is a lot better than Bienemy’s too. 5 years as OC, compared to 3 for Bienemy. Daboll is the sole developer of Bills offense with McDermott being a defensive coach. He’s developed Allen into a top QB.
Bienemy has Andy Reid and Mahomes for his entire OC career. Daboll coached under Saban and Bellichick, two of the best to ever do it.

How has it taken Daboll this long to get a HC gig? Why is that not being talked about?

The NFL wants teams to develop a more diverse group of coaches and executives so they want it to start at a lower level with more coordinators and front office jobs. I think it makes more sense than the other way.

Hard to hire a guy when his team is still actively playing. They've been to 3 consecutive AFCCG now and you can't hire the guy while he's still coaching. Teams want to form their entire coaching staffs as quickly as possible so they can hire what they deem to be the best staff. The notes in that article may be in play, but they won't fully deny him a job. He will get hired somewhere.

Ive heard about Bienemy’s skeletons before... it’s possible tgere are more and people fear a deeper dive into it will dredge them up

Then again it’s possible he interviews poorly or doesn’t have the traits people are looking at for a head coach

Probably the biggest of all issues that national media won’t discuss is, Bienemy while the OC and “helped” game plan, he has never called plays while under Andy. It’s Andy’s offense through and through.

Maybe he's waiting for the right job to come along as well, I mean as long as he has Mahomes, Kelce, and Tyreek that offense is going to be explosive and his name should be right there as a potential HC.

Why not give both teams a pick? In fact the more minority coaches you have the more picks you get on a yearly basis. Say a HC gets an extra 3rd every year. An OC and DC gets you a 4th every year. ST coach gets you 6th. You have a minority HC for 10 years....bam. extra 1st rounder. After 15 year you get a 1st round and a 3rd. Incentify not just the hiring of a minority HC but also retaining them.

I’d hire him... he played under coach bill McCartney in college and he was damn good coach and bienemy was damn good player. He’s paid his dues. McCartney sent lotta guys to pros Steelers in included guys that would knock your socks off. no reason to believe his team whoever he coaches wont be prepared to take the field every Sunday and will hit every Sunday. The problem with tomlins steelers you can’t say that about them. You don’t know if they are going to go out and hit every Sunday. They play all this finesse bs that goes against everything WPA football is about like winning the line of scrimmage. No reason to believe Bienemy’s teams won’t hit like a mofo and every reason to believe going forward the Steelers under tomlin won’t.

He wasn’t talking about in the game.. he was just talking about trying to get to the stadium in that hellhole of a city...

Seriously, this guy came off at best as a mid-major college coach or a bottom feeder in a P5 school. As with just about any coach, I'd love to see them be successful, but come on.
