It's funny how it works with Tomlin. He punted on Philly's side of the field with 10 mins left down a couple scores and never saw the ball again in one of the most gutless punts of the last 30 years per the Surrender Index and is terrified to throw in the MOF for fear of a turnover, but he'll run his mouth all day long with the buildup and chatter to fireworks with the Pats.

What would you say if you were DK? They just made him one of the highest paid WR in history and he hasn't performed like it. Scotty Miller has outshined him so far according to sources at camp. Gotta put some kind of positive spin on it for the media??
 
I truly hope we look better on defense than we did last season. I thought we were soft, slow, and stupid on defense for most of last season.

Meanwhile, don't brag about covering anything until your *** can cover the checks your big mouth is writing! Win something, then brag.

Defensive backfield ??? If people crack the code Slay will be exploited, JR we’ll have to wait and see…could see a very Donte Jackson season from him- if so it’s a wash with a likely worse safety grouping. They should be better, but will they actually be markedly improved.

PW better be the best cover LB in the world and dippy better be smart enough to deploy him correctly if he is.
Problem is those coverage skills matter not when a team is running it down your throat.
Warner, Buan, Okereke, and Roquan Smith are all shaking wondering if you’ll be in the top 5 this year young gun…as of now ya ain’t even the best in your division son.

This team is a Cam Heyward or TJ watt injury away from being very bad. But hey Watt never misses games and Heyward isn’t older than dirt so that will never happen.

Do you honestly feel that this defense will end the year ranked #1 in multiple meaningful categories?

With all that talk and assets on this side of the ball anything less is a failure.

Have a feeling they’re simply writing a boatload of checks on a below minimum balance account.

Porter did do a lot of talking, but he was established with-in a season / career.

He didn’t go screaming he was the best in the world 1/4 way through training camp.

Our defense can be one of the best in the last 10-15 years...Hopefully the Zebras let us play

Generally I think there is a bunch of Negative Nancy-ism on here, but you guys are spot on with this one. In weeks one and two, well here how this is an elite defense, but by the end of the November they won’t be able to get off the field to save their lives. Just shut up and play.

The best defense in the NFL doesn't give up 300 yards rushing in a playoff game

The 49er defenses DK played against were better

Comes from the top, been happening for years. Remember when the OL bragged that they were going to lead the league in rushing? Tomlin’s inflated self-opinion trickles down to the players.

I remember Tomlin talking on national TV to Tony Dungy about playing NE again in the playoffs prior to the Jax playoff game, we know what happened there.

I hope you feel better about yourself, but also realize I’m not a negative Nancy…………

People pointing out who the Tomlin is by using his history as evidence, is just telling the truth.

You may get the negative Nancy vibe by how often that truth is repeated and some poster’s do repeat it a lot.

Your post is proof in point………….. end of season collapses based of past season’s performances
