Who’s going to be first coach fired tomorrow?

Jimmie Johnson was successful in both college and pro. Carrol is doing well in Seattle.

Carroll also had marginal success with the Patriots before moving on to USC.

What is your take on him being a Steelers OC ?

He's mainly been a RB coach. He was an OC for Buffalo for 1 year in 2016 and took over as interim HC. That was his only year as OC.

On a side note, while coaching for Dallas, Lynn was hit by a drunk driver crossing the street with Todd Haley and needed a bunch of surgeries.

I know a lot of college guys have not found success in the NFL. not even sure why they come to the league. College is so much easier and plenty lucrative. That said a coach is a coach. Can you teach, can you lead, can you surround yourself with excellent positional coach teachers. That is why Carroll has succeeded. He does all three. Cool shades can do one. Maybe he could go season himself for five years in college.

Uh, remember Sask, Pete HAD to leave USC as his program was about to get shellacked by the NCAA for the Reggie Bush debacle. I don’t think Carrol will go back to a college program.

College coaches are a different breed than pro coaches... college is about recruiting superior talent and exploiting talent advantages... the worse team in the pros have more talented and experienced players than the best College programs... systems and schemes that work great in college get destroyed in the pros... there are a handful of coaches that were smart enough to surround themselves with pro level assistants... head coaching and butting out of the playcalling and scheming is pretty similar from a gameday perspective , but usually the college guys want to bring the schemes and plays they had their success with and many try to call one side of the game themselves

Remember Carrol was a nfl head coach before he was a college head coach, so he isnt really a true college guy...

I recently saw PJ Fleck's and Dan Mullen's names tossed out...probably by their agents. I just laughed. Could you see any NFL locker room taking either of those guys seriously?

Urban Meyer to Jacksonville https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30711061/jacksonville-jaguars-hiring-urban-meyer-coach

Robert Saleh to the Jets?

I really wish the Steelers had the balls to fire Tomlin and hire Saleh. Jets are a tough rebuild though.

Urban Meyer is the Fred Sanford of coaches. Give him 2 years and if his team isn't great he'll be bolting because of "health reasons". I figure he'll stick it out a few years and then he'll get Notre Dame to give him a ridiculous amount of money.

Red Foxx was hysterical.

Falcons go with Arthur Smith and all signs point Brian Daboll to the Chargers.
