Who Should Pittsburgh Take in the 1st Round?

Do you think the Steelers would take a flyer on Griffin? He is going to work out with the LBs and DBs. He could be a shazier / troy type hybrid. If he had both hands he would probably be a top 10 pick. I just wonder if he will be able to shed blocks / tackle at the pro level.

There was a girl at my HS with an arm and a half. She was strong as an ox. We had to do the two arm hang where you keep your chin above a bar. She destroyed every one in the whole school by a wide margin. It was impressive.

You don't want to say the handicap will effect him, but it will to a certain degree.

He can be pushed out of a play with someone engaging with two hands. Some NFL players are hard to wrap up with two hands.

I think he is a rover type who you want off blocks using his passion, speed. IMO More Polamalu than Shazier.

If he sticks in the NFL I think that is his best option, at SS.

I hope so. Kid can flat out play and he has the athleticism necessary to play Shazier’s position

I havent seen him play or watch the film, just my expectations, but he, probably, learned to wrap up to make a tackle.

From what I seen of him he does a ok job. I think overall it wouldn't be a deal breaker for him tackling. Getting off blocks in the run game as a ILBer might be a different story. You can blitz him with his speed, but you can do that at SS too.

Would be interesting where the Steelers would play him. Perhaps a replacement for not so Golden.
