Besides resigning Foster and Gay (and possibly Beachum)

1 Damon Harrison, NT Jets - A upgrade over Mclendon would stop the run (one of the Jets strengths) And free up some LBers to make plays. His nickname ? " snacks" Casey Hampton would approve..

2. Trumaine Johnson, CB, Rams- As teams might be targeting better known corners, This one showed some solid coverage skills.. A instant upgrade over Blake. We could use a Johnson to pair with a **** and a Gay in the slot.

3. Isa Abdul-Quddus, S, Lions. Decent in coverage and run support. Isa the answer at S? possibly

4 Justin Tuck, DE, Raiders - Coming off injury can he still be effective? A one year vet minimum prove it deal .....could possibly be had if the Steelers were quick to the Tuck.

5.Ryan Fitzpatrick QB Jets - Will he get another starting gig? If not this signal caller has enough experience to be a solid backup.

(feel free to add your own or simply just debate the ones listed)

At Safety, I'm thinking that they roll with converting Grant. They paid up to put him back on the roster when it looked like some team(s) were about to poach him off the practice squad. I don't think they did that with the intention of keeping him at CB. Tomlin's statement last week that moving Grant to Safety was "under consideration" kinda reinforces that idea for me. So, maybe they re-sign Golden and start the season with him at SS until Grant is ready. Of course, they could also end up taking a Safety high in the draft. But my gut says they view Grant as the eventual guy.

I think they will take a look at him in camp, possibly even at S as you mentioned.

But with this team soooo close, I would prefer some experience, for the upcoming year.

I'd can Shamarko, and bring Grant along slowly...

1. CB Trumaine Johnson. he has the size they look for in a CB and he played better than the guy starting opposite him for the Rams Janoris Jenkins.
2. CB Sean Smith. Might be out of reach money wise but would instantly be our #1 CB
3. DE Malik Jackson. Denver can't keep all their guys with the money needed to keep Miller. Probably priced himself out of our market with his play lately but in a rotation with Heyward and Tuitt we'd have a lethal D Line.
4. OLB Junior Gallette. Comes with baggage but two double digit sack seasons in 2013/14.
5. TE Dwayne Allen/Coby Fleener. Heath's a gem but getting on now.

Other guys I'd look at
FS Tashaun Gipson. Ball hawk and only 25
FS Eric Weedle. 31 but might come cheaper for the shot at a ring.
FS DJ Swearinger, we put a waiver claim in for him so they might take a shot on him if he comes cheap.
TE Vernon Davis. He might get a ring this year with the Broncos but doubt he'll be back there as they aren't even using him

Ray Rice...hey, someone had to say it...lol

Hopefully we have seen the last of Antwon ***** in black and gold. Someone needs to swoop in and sign this gem to a high-dollar long-term contract. He was never used right in Pittsburgh, but can and will thrive in any other system.

Careful Superman, Tombert may be working out that high price deal to swoop in and lock Blake up as we speak, Tomlin seems to love this guy for whatever reason.

I would really suck if he did.

We will sign our guys, restructure a few deals, and extend Decastro, Timmons and Bell. Doubtful we bring in anyone better than a warm body. Heath also could use a new deal perhaps. Even if it's just a short deal to create a bit of cap space. We could be players if we elect to restructure a ton of deals but there's not a bunch of cap room otherwise.

Not sure who but I think they should have a sweet spot this year of being able to sign a FA in the $5-6 million per year range. Nothing earth shattering but hopefully someone to upgrade the secondary or get more pressure on the QB.

I like number 1 and I like number 5. NTs are undervalued in this league, so they're cheap for their production. We really need to upgrade at backup QB, so Fitz makes sense. He's got alot of Batch qualities. Good in short stretches, not a starter.

The problem with 2-4 is that pass rushers and DBs are overvalued in this league. We don't pay for top talent. It's just not how we roll, so Johnson especially is a pipe dream. We need to draft at those positions, and I think we will.

Man I'd LOVE to see Malik Jackson here. But that'd be a ton of money for a rotational guy.

Are you trying to say a Gay playing with a **** and Johnson, wouldn't suck??

On Junior Galett

He has a variety of pass rush moves. These aren't Jarvis style hustle/coverage sacks. He's beating linemen to the inside with power, and to the outside with speed and shoulder lean.

BONUS: Dig him at 3:15 running down Cam Newton.

Sorry, guys, but a lot of what's been said in this thread is laughable. For example, the Jets are going to pay big bucks to Fitzpatrick to be their starter. The chance he signs with us to be Ben's backup is less than zero. He had a terrific season in New York, and they think he's the answer to their QB issues, at least in the short term. They like he's like Rich Gannon, a journeyman who can blossom late in his career in the right system and with a good supporting cast around him. He threw 31 TDs last season for ****'s sake.

Junior Galette is a super piece of **** human being. The Saints ate 12million dollars just to get him the **** outta town.

Absolutely right. He is a team killer. We wouldn't look at him if he was willing to play for free.

Dwayne Allen would be a GREAT addition to this team and won't cost a ton.
Pair him with Sean Smith/Trumaine Johnson and a DL for depth and this team is set for the draft.
Take S/OLB in rds 1 and 2.

1. Leonard Floyd OLB: yep...another guy from UGa. he doesn't even resemble Jarvis Jones. able to bend and bolt past LT's. will need to gain muscle to hold the point in the run game though.
2. Darian Thompson S: do all Safety.
3. Jason Spriggs OT: depth behind Villy/Gilbert
4. Charles Tapper DE: depth behind the stud.

Floyd was benched for run support issues not too long ago. A a situational pass rusher perhaps later, But no thank you on being the first round pick.

Seems he was somehow connected to the girl burnt alive IIRC. Piece of **** indeed.

I didn't know that or just forgot. Yeah I would stay clear then...
