Who said anything about leap of faith, I'm talking about finding WRs in the draft who are productive with Ben. Bryant definitely was before he decided Mary Jane was more important, and Sweed could've been but he got into his own head and lost all confidence. Every WR mentioned also was drafted between 2-6, and yet only 3 weren't very productive, unless you count Sanders who was oft injured with us. Regardless, WR is one position they hit on more than they miss, no "leap of faith" involved
My point regarding leap of faith is that Tomlin didn’t find some diamond in the rough with JuJu... he didn’t take a leap of faith in drafting JuJu, hoping he was going to get something more than anyone expected. He was considered a high prospect and as I recall, many Rat fans needed to be talked of a ledge when Steelers drafted JuJu.
So I just don’t see this stellar, WR guru everyone is so confident Tomlin is, with no worry he’ll just draft the next bABy. He drafted Sweed (bust), Wheaton (bust), Coates (semi-bust), Bryant (best season 50rec, 725yrds, 3 TD’s, over 4 seasons, with one lost year to suspension. About as pedestrian and less than they come), Wallac (solid, no super star), Sanders (see Wallace), Santonio (immense talent mostly wasted). Of course Brown n JuJu. Jury still out on Washington. So I’m just not as confident in the track record as most.
