When a 38 yr. old is your highlight player

I don't know that we as bad as all that but when I watched some of the GB/Stains game and saw this rookie QB lighting it up. I swear he looked like a veteran with a couple years experience, no hesitation and dead on accuracy. Why can't we ever score one of these diamonds in the weeds?

Signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016…For his career at Wesley, completed 918 of 1,429 pass attempts (64.2 percent) for 12,878 yards, 130 touchdowns and 38 interceptions…As a senior in 2015, he threw for 5,063 yards and 55 TDs on 346-for-496 passing (69.8 percent), becoming the first NCAA Division III quarterback ever to throw for 5,000 yards in a season…

That's gotta be a real shocker to go from NCAA Division III Wesley College, where you might have a couple thousand spectators on a big game, to lambeau Field. Look at the poise he shows here...easy peezy.

That school is about a 15 minute walk from where I work in Dover, De..

Wesley is a Div 3 power usually..

they are lucky to draw a 1000 people Steel Chip....mostly local Delaware, Southeastern Pa,. and Maryland Eastern Shore kids..

Totally agree Harrison was the only player wanting to play last night. Cleveland game is the only other game I have seen that looked as bad as the Steelers. Our guys faces looked totally in a daze, as what do I do. It was a sad performance saying it lightly.

Grant showed up for a couple plays, and Ayres had a nice end around.

Oh my goodness, players looked bad in the first preseason game! That has never happened before to any team ever! Well, season is over.

14 yards per carry....that is what Ayers brought to the game.

so it was only 1 carry....doesn't matter....and he caught 100% of passes thrown his way....again it was just 1...

I also think he had a good block on one of Richardson's runs for a 1st down.....

It's just a practice. From what I've seen over the years with tomlin. They totally just blow one game off. It's normally the first. We play vanilla and basic for the most part. No reason to put much on film. Get the rookies work! Find those diamond in the rough guys. Stay injury free. Who cares about winning preseason championships? Get a win or two in this process while getting the starters ready for the season.

If this was your average 38 year old player, you might have a point. When that 38 year old is James Harrison and you know workout routine is like along with the desire he had to have had just to stick to a team after being cut so many times and understated? You can't compare him to simple mortal humans.

Oh my goodness, a smartass comment on the SteelerNation board. That has never happened here before, we all need to go watch the Olympics......not.

Lookin' forward now folks, not backards..........

Our body language looked to be gee coach do I have to play tonight. Tomlin can't even get the third stringers motivated to even look like a football team. Check out the other games , doesn't take more than five plays to see what was obvious against the Lions, no ready to shine under the lights.

LA/Dallas was pretty entertaining actually. I don't get suckered into watching football outside of the Steelers and UGA but damn

Yep, Tomlin is a terrible motivator. So bad in fact that last year's team was a few plays away from playing for the AFC Championship in a season where they lost Ben for multiple games, Bell to suspension and injury for over half the season and Bryant to suspension for four games. Not to mention pesky minor things like losing the starting left tackle and center for the season ... Terrible motivator. By gosh, if he was any kind of motivator, last year's team would have been NFL Champeens!

These guys are supposed to be professionals. If the opportunity to make an NFL football team isn't enough to motivate them, I'd rather not see them playing for the Steelers. j/s

Past a players potential standings on the depth chart to I can be bagging groceries if I don't lay well what more motivation do you need in a pre season game.

And ABs concussion... all big factors.....

Camp meat played like camp meat...

Other than the typical ****** special teams play that's been an issue for twenty plus years I never take much from these early games. Game three, that's your dress rehearsal. All I want these first two games is no injuries to starters.

Tomlin seems to be good at motivating when we are in a hole or at a disadvantage. Us against the world kind of bullshit that gets old.

Disappointing. . Guys are playing for jobs. I did not see much passion from them. The d was ripped and without Ben the offense is pretty bad. Coates hang on to the ball. It's not a loaf of bread.

because we can bank a lot on a first preseason vanilla schemed performance with a plethora of starters sitting

Kind of a Tomlin staple, I'd have to say: not up for games early, not seeming prepared or motivated.

methinks it is time to unleash hell...........

Richardson is definitly fighting for a spot on the 53, I like his potential

When a 38 year old is your highlight player you tip your hat to him and realize how lucky you are to have seen one of the best LBs ever play his career on your team. Thanks again Silverback.
