Mid-Round Draft Gems 1.0: Inside Linebacker Blake Cashman, Minnesota– Once a super sleeper in this draft class, Blake Cashman has become a household name in the draft community after running a 4.50 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. His performance prompted many to look back at his film, and for good reason. Cashman is fast, […]

Hanks went from dark horse, even early 3rd, to probable 6th-7th rounder after the combine. Poor guy

If we miss out on the Devins, then we MUST score more points and limit turnovers because the middle of our defense is ****.

Wisconson ILB or imn the 4th Buffalo ILB

Some good names there, SN. Another guy I think bears consideration in the later rounds is Germaine Pratt from NC State. Certainly big enough to play the Mack (6'2", 240 lbs.), but his football awareness just does not seem to match up with his very impressive testing (4.57 40, 24 reps). He is a diamond in the rough and a guy worth a 3rd round pick.

Also, in the 5th or 6th, take a guy with productivity from a big-time program and who ran decently at the combine (4.66) - Ryan Connelly. 6'2", 242 lbs., did not lift at combine due to surgery, but he is ready to go now.

Pick up Emeke Egbule in the 7th round

I have been watching him on some tape. I don't think he is going to make it to the 7th round. I really like him and Okerke from Stanford.

I am not sure he will either. He doesn't have elite speed, but he made a ton of plays last season with a couple of interceptions and a few passes defended....

If we miss on the Devin's and Mack Wilson ain't on the list...my TV may pay a grave price...

You know how some players are "tweeners"? Wilson is that in terms of any pick before 30, and after 50. Dude played really well in 2017, but last season he had defensive call duty taken away from him due to apparent lack of understanding of the defense. I have not watched him as much as you, I can all but guarantee that, but he is not a great run defender. Waits for plays to come to him, not great at attacking hole or shedding blocks.

But he is a very promising Mack, where he roams and plays pass D. But at 20? Cannot see it. If a much more talented guy is there - Fant, or Lawrence, or Baker, or Murphy - I just cannot see the Steelers picking Wilson.

I am available....$1 million per year. Low risk, cap friendly deal

Sorry,........we're looking for players..........NOT "Players"

Salute the nation

Could a Casey Hampton type nose tackle that eats up blocks make all of our inside linebackers better including blitzing the QB? Dexter Lawrence is that man. At 6'5' and close to 350lbs. Clemson's linebackers were free to run all over the field. No center could handle him alone and he pushed running plays further to the outside toward the d ends. Remember how important Hampton was to our defense? McCullers isn't the man that's for sure.I think Lawrence could be. And I think he may be there when we draft at 20. CB and ILB in second and wide receiver in third would make a nice start but also very, very thin at TE. McDonald gets injured too often to expect him not to miss some time.

noah fant. noah fant. noah fant. say it with me. "noah fant".

I'm a fan. I know some will say we're hardly in our base package any longer, but I think the guy can even be somewhat scheme versatile and I think the coaches should be front versatile as well.

Fant is an oversized WR, there is WR options I would rather have. Like Butler for one. I think the Steelers would have to be comfy they could turn him into a adequate blocker.

I dunno definitely not my greatest want or their greatest need.

This draft must to the following to win another championship.

I think we can find a decent receiver in the draft. History shows the Steelers can do this in rounds two or three. Or in round one. While losing AB for peanuts really sucked we can find a piece for the puzzle at receiver in this draft. Ben makes then great, and next year we don't have AB's cap number.

I tend to think we can find better inside linebackers in the draft. Amdititly the bar is low. Barron will likely give us a good nickel and dime guy. A draft pick in round 1-4 could yield a starter here after all his competition is Williams.

What I'm most cerian of is this defensive backfield in black and gold sucks. Only one man can cover well and as a group they a very low amount of turnovers. To obtain a good DB, you either need to pay big bucks, beyond what Nelson fetched or pick one early in the draft. The way corners go, I'd guess about 7 to 8 of them will be off the board before the Steelers pick in round two. This means if we want a guy that makes an impact in 2019, he should be selected in round one because by round two, you're looking at a sub package type of player more often than not.

Give me Greedy Williams. The man offers a limited cushion, doesn't have a lot of passing yard against and has the height and speed to be a lockdown type. Eleitle level ball skills with the anticipation to jump the route. I don't care so much if he might blow a tackle or two, at the end of the day even a blown tackle + his yards surrendered in coverage should big-time improvement from what we have been used to.

I could live with Baker. Solid guy, maybe not exceptional, but we can depend on him,

Pass on Murphy. I don't trust his speed and think his limited amount of games played and competition in the Pac 12 are red flags.

I will say this. In the past I have always been in favor of aggressively perusing a targeted player. In this case say Bush from Michigan. Right now I feel like the Steerlers are somewhere between contending and rebuilding. Also, what I hear about this class is that it is very deep. I'd favor waiting to see what falls, taking the BPA which should still be very good and then using the extra ammo to get someone very good in the second where it is much cheaper.

if cant them trade for Darren Lee

Fant is most likely going to be the BPA at #20; Devin Bush is overrated and Devin White will be long gone.

You can BEST BET BELIEVE IF we pick Mack Wilson at 1.20---my TV will be no longer!!!
