Pouncey was far better than anyone currently involved in the embarrassment they call an O-line

It makes you wonder what FO and ownership-- including the minority owners--must think.

They cannot be blind, especially after Matt Canada and last years collapse.

Again that narrative about him not being good or elite would mean that not just fans overrated him, but other players and the NFL as well... he made 9 pro bowls, 2 all pro teams, and was selected to the NFL's all decade team for the 2010's. He is nominated to the HOF selection committee this year.

We are limited by a head coach who has never been worth a sh**. He's the product of coming into a situation with a superstar, sb ready team and he can't keep inheriting, and it's showed for 14 years.
 
He's just looking for new ways to use his favorite vocabulary word for 2025.

Just last month, I seem to remember Tomlin mentioning that the Steelers' defense had enough schematics to do big things. Historic things.

I guess if Tomlin happens to lose a couple of starters to injury for a couple of games (none of whom have ever sniffed an All-Pro level of play), the historic nature of his schematics must suffer. If you will.

Pouncey was voted to the all-decade team. He must have done something right🙂
His last 2 seasons he was horrible, lived on reputation alone. I can never forget that snap. When he was voted to pro bowl it was ridiculous. Decastro was awesome, and played a different position.

Last week on NE last drive before the half....NE had a 16 play drive for over 7 minutes.....we ended up getting a int to save the day.....Tomlin looks to this as a plan well executed. That is the problem. He will make zero changes to fix the issues. In his eyes.....his D worked to perfection on that last drive.

Sadly Rooney probably is applauding Tomlin for this insight and has told Omar to start the ground work for the next Tomlin extension. Get it done Omar!!!!!

In other words, turnovers, which are notoriously unreliable as a defensive tactic. Some days you knock the ball free and recover, and most days you don't do either.

I think until his injury / last couple seasons, he probably was over-rated for those seasons. Prior though, he was pretty dang good, including (I think) making the all Decade team.

Dawson was underrated but, was then justified by being inducted into the HOF, a second Steelers Center in the HOF.

Tomlin was responsible for the Canada mess where he let a great offensive line coach Munchak walk promoted an idiot enstead to OC, then had to replace him with a bigger idiot that had to be fired mid season… now he’s responsible for promoting the idiot that's destroying the once proud men of steel defense… how many screw ups does tomlin get? And smith is no great genius that teams are lining up to hire… enoughs enough It’s getting ridiculous!

As long as they keep fans in the stands and merchandise sales yearly, the standard is the standard.
