Viva Las Vegas

I'll be interested what happens to airfare and hotel prices on game weekends. Ticket prices will be interesting too. Small local base with a fair distance to other major cities. They really will be relying on visiting team in my opinion.

I think you will be surprised how many people Vegas can absorb. They have some very large conventions in Vegas, SHOT Show, SEMA, CES, NAB, etc that routinely carry over 100K attendees. (https://vegasinc.com/business/public-record/2014/dec/28/list-largest-conventions-2014/)

Vegas will be the new San Diego in the Super Bowl rotation. Its a destination that should have decent weather even though it can get cold and windy.

As long as the Super Bowl weekend doesn't fall on the same weekend as one of those big conventions then Vegas will be sitting sweet for games and rooms.

Also one thing about Raider fans, a VERY large contingent flies up from SoCal on game days and flies back right after the game. The Coliseum is maybe 2 exits away from the airport in Oakland. They run special Southwest flights up and down for this group of fans. I believe you will see the exact same setup for them in Vegas, except you'll see people from NorCal and SoCal now flying in for these games. Its only a 3+ hour drive up I-15 to Vegas as well so many will also drive v flying with it closer than being in Oakland.

Road trip for their fans?

NEVER been to Vegas in my life. I don't gamble or drink. When the STEELERS play there I will be able to get the cheapest air fare ever. So I might have to go to one of those games. Me and a few friends, it will be AWESOME I think.

Salute the nation

Every man should go to Las Vegas at least ONCE.

All I know is the first chance I get to go see the Steelers there it is on. Two of my favorite things are the Steelers and Vegas. ****** that the break isn't clean. WTF are the people of Oakland supposed to do with a team that won't be there's in 3 or 4 years. Stupid.
Reading online it seems most raiders fans don't care where they play. They've moved so much as it is.

We should try and plan a Steelernation Vegas vacation! maybe try and get a group discount on rooms. Make it a great chance to meet for those of us who have not had the opportunity.

I agree

somebody with the SN credit card should buy all the room reservations and tickets and we'll pay you when we get there - like a convention

Oh it's definitely a town to visit for 4 or 5 days and get the funk out.

lived there a year and a half. I like the mountain /water access up there ..Some of the people were cool who I met. But the summers, and the expense, and the potential to get in trouble a little more than in some other places,

Yep better to just visit.

My mom has this snazzy small room with a single bed, that she rents as a result of 20 some years of living Las Vegas loco.

I live in Vegas and I work for the Clark County Building Dept. When I tell you we were all shocked that this actually went down.....we literally still don't believe it. On one hand it's going to create MASSIVE revenue for the city. The stadium alone will bring in 40 new huge events per year including the Raiders home games. Huge for UNLV. Might be their ticket to a major conference. On the other hand......local broadcast for NFL games will now be Raiders homes games. (Ugh). I went years here getting to watch the Steelers pretty much every week. Looks like I'll be going to the sports book now. Oh well.
