Vince Williams

Big time game he and Shazier will man the middle next year..

He earned the contract he signed. Was good to see actual tackles last night and not misses.

He's a mean machine. Was everywhere and making solid hits

Yeah, let's hope he can continue to improve. Hopefully Shazier can get healthy, though.

Dangerfield looked solid too, but Vince definitely answered the bell as the next man up after an uninspired performance last week. Gotta throw some props Finney's way as well. The replacements definitely looked like they were up for the task last night.

HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!

Shazier is a good player - but Timmons had his best game of the year with Williams next to him. I don't think that is a coincidence.

Williams shakes off blockers very well in the run game and controls the middle of the field to the point that Timmons can go hunting.

Maybe Williams can do that so Shazier cam go hunting

And honestly I hope they can still resign Timmons if he will
Accept a lesser salary in hopes of finishing his career in Pittsburgh.

I would take him back, for depth only. He'd have to be a 2mil/yr guy and told he is no longer the starter.

I thought he or spense would be a viable long term solution... With shazier in the timmons mold... I am very happy with williams playing the footesque stay at home ilb role

I don't know why he wouldn't be the starter. He's obviously very good still. Did you happen to notice how bad our defense was last week when he wasn't in?

I agree, he is still good, and knowledgeable and probably understands the D better than anyone on the roster, but he is slowing down. We have people behind him that can execute, and most importantly, we can't pay him like a starter anymore if you want to keep the offensive talent next year.

Yah but the thing is we have hardly any money invested in the defense after Timmons is off the books. Heyward, and Mitchell are the only ones paid. Tuitt will need paid

Shazier, and Tuitt will be up soon, and I'd rather pay them than Timmons again. Developing and playing young talent on the defense is starting to reap some rewards, but eventually you have to pay the promising talent.

Plus we're talking $15M in cap room for letting Timmy walk. That is HUGE!!!
