Tomlin: we sucked

I like the fact that he’s calling them out on their sh*t. This is where he does well as a leader. Personally, I don’t think it was total garbage. There was good that happened, but overall the performance was “below the line,” and Tomlin isn’t mincing words about it. I have confidence that we’ll see a different product next week. We may not get the run game fixed over night, but I fully expect a solid performance in other areas.

Time to "unleash hell" as someone once said....

Baltimore had a total of 239 yards of offense today. Can't take it away, but, without the 70 yard TD pass to Brown, they had 169 yards of total offense; 129 on the ground.

YES, this right here! Who the **** cares about how pretty they are? That Brown TD cost me a **** ton of money in daily fantasy but we ******* won!

You can also subtract the 39 yd run that Edmunds ALSO gave away. Edmunds was responsible for at minimum, 109 of their 239 yards

WFT is going to be tough. Losing Bud and Devin really sucks.

Yeah, I'd say the Defense held up their end of the bargain. Could have done without the 120 "freebie" yards. But overall they did well for a team that hadn't played in 10 days. The Offense? Yeah, Tomlin was right. They sucked.

This "elite" defense sure has a nack for making lesser qb's look good. They should have looked better against a makeshift offense. And if our OL doesn't figure out how to run block, all these wins are going to be for nothing. I hope all the "It doesn't matter how we won" people can put all these wins under their pillows to help them sleep better at night when all our deficiencies on offense AND defense get us bounced out of the playoffs. This team is not ready for the playoffs. They're hardly ready for the regular season.

But getting back on topic, it was nice to see Tomlin pissed off. No jibber jabber. No clichés. He was real for once. Real mad. And there's no better time to be pissed off after a game than when you've got another W for your collection.

What sucks is a coach who puts 2 defensive linemen on the field against a team that can't throw the ball.
Getting gashed by the run in that situation is as predictable as a Pittsburgh short pass attempt on successive 3rd and 1, 4th and 1 plays.

We made it easy for RG3 to gash us 3 times on the same play.

14 points the rats scored 14. They were helped out by a special team gaffe on one TD. But here you are bitching left and right. Must be that time of month.

239 yards of total offense. 239 yards. Defense was not the problem today other than Edmunds' gaffe. Muffed punts and dropped balls were the problems. Want to look for scapegoats for this game? Look at the receivers (other than Washington) and Ebron. Nine drops in one game. Ridiculous.

Ben's taking all the blame as usual and praising others. Gonna miss this dude when he's gone.

I almost wish he had called the receivers out for the drops. I guess he doesn't want another AB situation.

I LIKED that Mike Tomlin!

Uh... He was pretty clear that they dropped several catchable balls. I thought he was pretty clear.
I don't think any if those receivers are going to stand next to coach in the film room or in practice this week.

The two ratbird scores were from
A.) yet another catastrophic special teams gaff that set them up deep
B.) a totally blown tackle where the guy half went for the pick and half for tge tackles and basically put himself in horrible position ... a fluke td at best
The D also scored a td and should have given one up at the half... on the flip side the Ravens were allowed to blatantly hold last night... like jersey clamps from behind type holds... it wasn’t even kind of Hidden.. they just were allowing it for competitive reasons which was bullshit

There was nothing wrong with the d in this game

The O was bunk in the red zone, left what, 5 potential tds on the field... were out of sorts, had no cohesive gameplan yet again, and kept tge Ravens in the game

The special teams lost points, basically gave them a td, and wrre a net negative in Almost every aspect

The offensive gaffs

It's really refreshing to get a different reaction from Tomlin.

In years past, he would have something like: "Well, it wasn't pretty, but our job is to come away from stadiums with victories. It doesn't matter who the nameless grey faces are in the other jerseys. This is the National Football League...a win is a win."

Or worse yet, the Steelers would have lost a game like this to a huge underdog. That's just not happening this season. I think the prospect of going undefeated has really lit a fire under Tomlin. Good for him.

I’m glad to see the Steelers demand more

They did suck. No doubt about it. They struggled to win against a Ravens teams primarily fielding back ups.

The national media definitely **** all over the Steelers today, though they never seemed to believe in them to begin with.

That may have been the worst performance by a Steelers receiving unit I've ever seen.

The positive thing is that Ben was pretty much on target all game and the likes of Johnson, Claypool and Ebron have better hands than they showed yesterday.

Dropped passes are the kind of things that will get a team curb stomped against the Chiefs.

Did anyone else notice that Tomlin got a little salty when he was asked about using James Washington more?

hell McCloud has caught like 95% of passes thrown his way....obviously we should target him more....

Washington is good for 1 or 2 big catches a game...hard to get him the ball with the DJ, JuJu, Claypool and Ebron doing so well

I still think he is being a bit underutilized. He's great at both separating on double move routes and winning contested passes.

It is just not a lack of targets, as he is barely seeing the field. He has played around only 25% of the team's offensive snaps over the past six games, after having played over 60% of them during the first five games.

He would probably be the #2 WR on a lot of teams.

A good contesting catcher isn't necessarily a good open catcher. The other WRs mentioned simply do a better job of getting open IMO.

they gotta stop that stupid pass 4 yards short of the sticks on 3rd down.....

They do that and Fichtner would be out of a job..................

Salute the nation

LOL totally agree. And he also didn't say 'throw away the style points'.
