Tomlin vs Harbaugh.

I think you are discounting the QB he has had. Harbaugh has had an MVP and still has barely won more than Tomlin. Take away Lamar and Harbaugh would have been fired years ago.
Since 2019 when Lamar Jackson became the full-time starter.

Mike Tomlin
Regular season record: 67-48-1
Win %: 58.3%
10+ win seasons: 3
Division titles: 1
Postseason appearances: 4
Seasons with a playoff win: 0
Postseason record: 0-4
Average postseason score: 22.25-37.25
Postseason score differential: -60

John Harbaugh
Regular season record: 76-40
Win %: 65.5%
10+ win seasons: 5
Division titles: 3
Postseason appearances: 5
Seasons with a playoff win: 3
Postseason record: 3-4
Average postseason score: 19.6-17.4
Postseason score differential: +15

Like Tomlin should've is what you're saying?
Who is responsible for the QB's each has had? So it's a negative that Harbaugh has a Two time MVP at QB, but Tomlin is celebrated for not having a Franchise QB?

There are so many things that are backwards to what common sense tells us. Tomlin should have been gone 5 years or more ago, plain and simple.

Comparing them (Balt.) to having an MVP QB, but not remembering the Tomlin had BEN HOF QB for near his entire coaching time here. What has he done with that??????

Harbaugh is NOT our concern, Tomlin is.

Salute the nation

I do believe that Tomlin is a better coach than Harbaugh.
I can't get there. Harbaugh embarrassed Tomlin in the playoffs last season. Harbaugh has gone into Foxboro and beaten Brady and Belicheat in an AFCCG, then lost to them by 4 the next playoffs.
Went to Buffalo last season after killing us and losing by 2 there, lost to Mahomes and Burrow in competitive games. Tomlin can't even be competitive in a playoff game. Tomlin gets the benefit of the doubt on his playoff failures because he doesn't have a franchise QB, Harbaugh won a Super Bowl with Joe Flacco and went into NE and Beat brady with Flacco.

Harbaugh hasn't won jack **** with an MVP QB.

You can change the name from Harbaugh to Tomlin right?

Harbaugh did beat Brady and Belicheat in NE and won a Super Bowl without an MVP QB.
He had a loaded defense and a QB that played like a Hall of Famer for that Post Season. Since then, he is no better than Tomlin for what he has gotten out of Lamar. Sorry given the choice between the two with a gun to my head I take Tomlin over Harbaugh every single time.

Since Lamar started.
He's won 3 playoff games, Tomlin 0 including killing Tomlin.
He's won 3 division titles, Tomlin 1
He's been competitive in the playoffs vs the top tier teams/QB's, Tomlin has not, been outscored like 73-7 in the first quarter
He's been to and hosted an AFCCG, Tomlin has not.

I'm don't think Harbaugh is a HOF coach, but he's had more success than Tomlin recently, with the QB HE DRAFTED, and the one Tomlin skipped on.

Some snippets from the Ringer article..

  • In 2020, they started 11-0. They lost four of their final five and were blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
  • In 2023, they started 7-4. They lost three in a row immediately after and were blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
  • In 2024, they started 8-2. They lost five of their final seven and were blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
  • In 2025, they started 4-1. They’ve lost six of their last 11 and will miss the playoffs if they lose Sunday’s
And, of course, there’s his playoff résumé. Tomlin’s career postseason record is 8-11, a .421 winning percentage, 23rd out of 25 coaches with at least 15 career playoff games.Since 2011, he’s 3-9 in the playoffs, with his Steelers falling to teams led by Tim Tebow and Blake Bortles. He was also demolished in a home wild-card game against a Browns team that was missing its head coach, who was quarantined in a basement with COVID.

The only three Steelers playoff wins of the past 14 seasons came against the AJ McCarron–led Bengals in one of the most outrageous NFL games of the century, the Alex Smith–led Chiefs in a contest that was decided by a controversial holding penalty on a two-point conversion, and the Matt Moore–led Dolphins. That’s it. That’s the whole list. In Pittsburgh’s other nine playoff games during that span, the team has been outscored by 108 points and lost by double-digits six times. The only franchises that haven’t won playoff games more recently than the Steelers are the Cardinals, Panthers, Jets, Bears, Raiders, and Dolphins. That’s not great company!

Tomlin lost this team, and the embarrassment is pure to the touch.

I don’t have to read through the 30+ posts. They both are stale, need a new challenge and the teams need a breath of fresh air. Fire both of them.

Harbaugh was about to be fired when he drafted Lamar. Yeah, he has won a few games but he should have won a few Super Bowls and he is again on the verge of being fired. Tomlin in the last 5 years despite playoff failures has taken teams to the playoffs that had no real QB. Harbaugh wouldn't have. I take Tomlin over him specifically all day. Based on coaching and on character. Harbaugh is a sleaze just like his brother. He has done some shady **** in his career during games.

The Ravens have outplayed us alot lately, but have done stupid things. Fumbles, ints, dropped balls, missing wide open WRs etc etc cost them several games. In the playoffs last year they did not do those things and steam rolled us. This game is about as 50/50 as you get. Harbaugh totally changed the offense around for Lamar and I do not see Tomlin doing that for anyone. I still think Harbaugh is a much better coach than Tomlin

Tomlin has tripped a kick returner

If Tomlin coached for any other team he'd be fired already. Lamar was drafted 5 years after Harbaugh won the Super Bowl and you say Harbaugh was about to be fired, the 5 years after Tomlin last played in the Super Bowl, was an embarrassing loss at Denver and Tebow in the playoffs, a loss to Baltimore, beat AJ McCarron (since we are so concerned about QB's) because of two personal fouls by Cincy, then lost to Denver. So I guess Tomlin should've been fired after that right?

You do know the Steelers have the HIGHEST paid defense those 5 years?
Good for him, you know how many coaches have won in the playoffs with no real QB?

Division coaches:

Zac Taylor
Kevin Stefanski
John Harbaugh
Mike Tomlin

Tomlin can’t be that bad if you’d rather take him over the others.

Harbaugh hasn't won jack **** with an MVP QB.

Still has been a lot closer to the Superbowl than Tomlin over the last decade.

Despite coming up short, Ravens fans have had several seasons in recent years where they felt they had a legit chance to win the Superbowl going into the playoffs.

When's the last time we had that feeling? All we feel is kind of hopelessness at this point, and it's been that way for years now.

Harbaugh developed two different QBs that he's won a lot of games with. We're still waiting on Tomlin to do it once after Ben.

Listening to the Fan this morning and Adam Crowley is talking about this, saying Harbaugh is more of a fraud than Tomlin, that Tomlin can out coach Harbaugh. It's homer radio at it's finest, totally ignoring the game last January, totally ignoring the fact that Baltimore's recent playoff losses have been to Allen twice, Mahomes, and Burrows, and all one score games, we can't even be competitive in a post season game.
Ripping Harbaugh for not giving Henry the ball in NE and that was an idiotic move for sure, but doesn't even bring up Tomlin facing he number 1 ranked pass defense with the best pass rusher and we threw the ball 39 times in the wind and rain.

Can't stand the Homerism when this team hasn't won a damn thing in a decade.

If you go to their boards, it is almost worse than what we see here. Sorry, still not taking Harbaugh over Tomlin, ever.

Stefanski might be alright away from the Browns. Taylor is a better OC then head coach. Harbaugh is just a giant Jagoff.

Tomlin is 0 for 1 in picking franchise QBs. Lots of coaches are 0 for 3,4,5.

Actually, he's (tomlin) picked every QB since Ben left.

Yes that includes the geriatric / wasted pick kfp, and on down the line........

Comparing the two is like asking which of the two slackers slacks the least.

For me it is the higher playoff percentage. And of course SBs. Those are the most relevant in the grand scheme…
