It's gonna be the late 90's all over again
90's? Who remembers the MISERABLE 80's? I do. The 90's weren't ****.
It's gonna be the late 90's all over again
First explain to us how you can say in the game thread that we are losing because "Tomlin is a liberal" and not get warned over it, yet I mention Alt-right cucks and I'm about to get booted?
Is there bias here? Or maybe racism?
Tomlin blew it with that onside kick call.
So many wasted years. We'd be working on #8 or 9, at least, with Cowher as coach. Or a crash test dummy. Tomlin is a liability who is preventing success. He needs to be fired, now.
Tomlin is 3-5 in his last 8 playoff games. And he had the better team most of the time.
Why do people keep saying Ben gave the Jags 14 points? OK, the fumble is 7 but it's not like the INT was a pick 6. It was just an INT. It was the defense that then caved in and gave up the TD very easily. Embarrassingly easily.
If Ben gave up 14, then Boswell gave them 3 because his onside kick didn't work and apparently it's then his fault the Jags drove to get a FG.
I guess i don't know what some people think a head coach is responsible for.
Whenever Tomlin comes up, we get told that he's not responsible for the roster, that's the GM. He's not responsible for the gameplan, that's on the OC and DC. He's not responsible for the mistakes players make, that's on the position coaches. He's not there to motivate anybody, that's on the players themselves. So what's left? Not much. May as well hire an actor because it seems press conferences is the only responsibility of the head coach.
I blame Haley and Butler. Their gameplans routinely suck and they appear to have no idea how to get the most out of their talent. But Tomlin is the one who approves the gameplans each week.
To some people it's as if Butler is drawing up his gameplan and Tomlin walks into the room, and he think's Hey, that's not a good gameplan, but Oh Well, i'm just head coach, nothing i can do about it.
Tomlin approves of these gameplans. It's on him when it's bad. It means he either allowed a bad gameplan to go forward or he can't recognize it's a bad plan.
Individual play calls are on the OC and DC, but the overall approach for the week is on the Head Coach.
BINGO, he has "never had a losing season" but he has never actually done anything or been responsible and accountable for anything either apparently.
I would have settled for Doug Marone yesterday. Ya know, he took over a 3-13 team in 2016, and is headed to the AFC championship game next week. Marone is an example of what a decent head coach can do.
BINGO, he has "never had a losing season" but he has never actually done anything or been responsible and accountable for anything either apparently.
Lets give the guy 5 years of coaching and see where he is. Might be a good up coming HC. Might not.
They are really racist..yes i didnt like the decision to onside kick the ball..but we lost this game for a variety of reasons.. some from the sidelines and some on the field..
And he has won consistently. Can you honestly say he was bad hire. If so your out of your mind. I won’t quote stats but seriously for all his faults he is a good coach. Yes he ***** up. He should have kicked it. But I would still take his tenure all over again. Warts and all.

Mike Tomlin is as good as any head coach in the NFL. Start narrowing your focus if you want to pinpoint what went wrong today.

that's why it's almost impossible for him to be let go. The Rooney's wouldn't be able to justify firing a HC coming off a 13-4 season, never having a losing season with one SB title. I don't think you have to be a Tomlin apologist to see the facts of why he will be here until he decides to move on. He states he is happy here, he wins, but is so-so in the playoffs and can't beat NE or the teams he should half of the time. Unless ownership is completely embarrassed or fed-up, which I don't see being the case, we may see a coordinator let go or not asked back, but it will be status quo for 2018-19.
Two more NFL records Tomlin set yesterday.
The first team in NFL history to lose a home playoff game scoring 40 plus points
Is team in NFL history to lose to a team twice at home for the second time.
