Tomlin supporters....

First explain to us how you can say in the game thread that we are losing because "Tomlin is a liberal" and not get warned over it, yet I mention Alt-right cucks and I'm about to get booted?

Is there bias here? Or maybe racism?

Shut the **** up!

Tomlin blew it with that onside kick call.

He actually blew it WAY before that, when he went for it on 4th and 1 from the 20ish?? instead of kicking the field goal and taking the 3 points. We LOST by 3 points. That 3 would have taken this game to OT.

I was semi-ok with the onside, because I had NO FAITH that our defense could stop them. God knows they hadn't all day. Nothing they did to that point gave me any hope that they could make a stop.

So many wasted years. We'd be working on #8 or 9, at least, with Cowher as coach. Or a crash test dummy. Tomlin is a liability who is preventing success. He needs to be fired, now.

I do wonder sometimes how many rings Ben would truly have under Cowher.
Cowher barely had average QBs through out his tenure until Ben came along and he only played 3 years with him.

Tomlin is 3-5 in his last 8 playoff games. And he had the better team most of the time.

Tomlin is 3-5 in his last 8 playoff games. And he had the better team most of the time.

We have had probably one of the most talented teams in the NFL for a solid 5 years and Tomlin cannot manage that. If it were not for the Bengals self-imploding he would be 2-6 in his last 8 playoff games. He has NO control over his players and the inmates run the asylum.

10 Reasons why Tomlin should be fired.

I'll resist the urge to start a new thread, but I hope everyone reads this:

1 ) Tomlin is 3-5 in his last playoff games. 3-5! More concerning the Steelers were favorites in most of those games. That's tough to defend. New England owns him. You could argue Jacksonville is one win away from owning him too.

2 ) He hires bad OC's. Todd Haley? While I get, Tomlin is a defensive guy; it's pretty clear the play calling has been bad for years. Tequila Todd has to go. Running it wide on 4th and one vs. a fast defense? Never using a QB sneak?

3 ) Game Day adjustments and critical decisions. When I see another head coaches, they are looking at charts, talking to players on the sideline, and such. Tomlin just stands there in sunglasses. What is he doing? Evidently trying an onside kick with over two minutes to go and two times out, down only three points.

4 ) Losing too often to sub .500 teams. This has become a Tomlin hallmark. It only happened once this year ( Bears ), thanks to Ben and numerous 4th quarter comebacks. Like the playoff records in the past eight appearances a case of Tomlin underachieving.

5 ) Having too many diva players and team distractions. Tomlin's decision to keep the team in the locker room prevented those who to stand for the national anthem. This must have burned some guys. Who is anyone to determine your political views? Guys don't forget. Ben said the anthem thing was a distraction. Lately, DeCastro, a team leader and perhaps one of the least likely to speak out against the Steelers admitted the team wasn't focused. Getting a team focused and ready to play is a primary job for the head coach.

6 ) Never taking accountability for the team's performance. Leaders at times need to do this. When has Tomlin? How about never.

7 ) Bad clock management. We should really hire a time outs coach.

8 ) Embarrassing moments. Like stepping on the field and caught looking at himself doing it during a Ravens return, and ill-advised we're going to unleash hell remarks.

9 ) Too comfortable. Coaches who don't win lwoB repuSs in years eventually go stale. 2008 was a long time ago with another head coaches players.

10 ) The Steelers are a flagship NFL Franchise. We could hire ANY prospective coach. Anyone of them. Which head coach would not want to play for us with a stacked roster ( Thanks to Colbert ) Talents like Sean McVay could have been ours.

Why do people keep saying Ben gave the Jags 14 points? OK, the fumble is 7 but it's not like the INT was a pick 6. It was just an INT. It was the defense that then caved in and gave up the TD very easily. Embarrassingly easily.

If Ben gave up 14, then Boswell gave them 3 because his onside kick didn't work and apparently it's then his fault the Jags drove to get a FG.

I guess i don't know what some people think a head coach is responsible for.

Whenever Tomlin comes up, we get told that he's not responsible for the roster, that's the GM. He's not responsible for the gameplan, that's on the OC and DC. He's not responsible for the mistakes players make, that's on the position coaches. He's not there to motivate anybody, that's on the players themselves. So what's left? Not much. May as well hire an actor because it seems press conferences is the only responsibility of the head coach.

I blame Haley and Butler. Their gameplans routinely suck and they appear to have no idea how to get the most out of their talent. But Tomlin is the one who approves the gameplans each week.

To some people it's as if Butler is drawing up his gameplan and Tomlin walks into the room, and he think's Hey, that's not a good gameplan, but Oh Well, i'm just head coach, nothing i can do about it.

Tomlin approves of these gameplans. It's on him when it's bad. It means he either allowed a bad gameplan to go forward or he can't recognize it's a bad plan.

Individual play calls are on the OC and DC, but the overall approach for the week is on the Head Coach.

BINGO, he has "never had a losing season" but he has never actually done anything or been responsible and accountable for anything either apparently.

I would have settled for Doug Marone yesterday. Ya know, he took over a 3-13 team in 2016, and is headed to the AFC championship game next week. Marone is an example of what a decent head coach can do.

Once again, he will not be fired. Why waste your breath bitching about it. The Rooney’s aren’t going to fire a coach who has won a super bowl been to another and has never had a losing season. It is not going to happen. If you think it will your out of your minds.

Lets give the guy 5 years of coaching and see where he is. Might be a good up coming HC. Might not.

that's why it's almost impossible for him to be let go. The Rooney's wouldn't be able to justify firing a HC coming off a 13-4 season, never having a losing season with one SB title. I don't think you have to be a Tomlin apologist to see the facts of why he will be here until he decides to move on. He states he is happy here, he wins, but is so-so in the playoffs and can't beat NE or the teams he should half of the time. Unless ownership is completely embarrassed or fed-up, which I don't see being the case, we may see a coordinator let go or not asked back, but it will be status quo for 2018-19.

Not to mention that they were the anti-Browns, and hit with their number of top 10 picks, and spent out the *** on bringing elite defensive talent via free agency, which you can do when you suck for 10 years. This Jaguars team is going to be in cap hell in the next 3 years when all these players start getting ready for their next contracts.

We've all heard of teams having a "Capologist."

Well, the Steelers need a "Decisonologist." Someone to work up a list of do's and don'ts for various situations, then give Tomlin a handy list to keep in his pocket.

Interesting that the coach is fond of saying not to "live in your fears."

But he defied that with the onside kick: He essentially said later he feared the defense couldn't stop Jax.

They are really racist..yes i didnt like the decision to onside kick the ball..but we lost this game for a variety of reasons.. some from the sidelines and some on the field..

Here we go...I think he's a bad coach and makes horrible decisions so i must be a racist? That takes the cake.

And he has won consistently. Can you honestly say he was bad hire. If so your out of your mind. I won’t quote stats but seriously for all his faults he is a good coach. Yes he ***** up. He should have kicked it. But I would still take his tenure all over again. Warts and all.

Why would you? I still believe that we're 13-3 despite coaching and not because of it.

Two more NFL records Tomlin set yesterday.

The first team in NFL history to lose a home playoff game scoring 40 plus points

Is team in NFL history to lose to a team twice at home for the second time.

Oh sure as good as any. You really believe that?

Agreed.

Cool shades isn't going anywhere for a bit.

Tomlin needs to be held accountable for this years debacle. This was to be the year yet again and got knocked out early and was embarrassed on our home field. Art 2 will be afraid to get rid of him however. "Rooney Rule"

How many did Ben set yesterday?

Someone just mentioned Tebow to me and I got traumatized all over again. Remember when the Steelers/Lebeau used to be known for annihilating bad or inexperienced QBs? We've been letting bad and/or inexperienced QBs look like Joe Montana routinely since the 2011 season. That's across two DCs, many different position coaches, an almost entirely turned over defensive roster, and still doing the same ****
