Tom Brady calls it quits with the Pats

Gridiron, you are leaving out the critical component of Ernie Adams whispering defensive play-calls in Brady's ear before each snap. Without that, he'll have to use his experience, which admittedly is no small factor.

I think it IS fair to say if Brady crashes and burns this year we can once and for all put to rest the argument about how much he benefited from the P*ts radio stealing system. Add to that the fact that Brady has for some insane reason willingly gone to a division with actual quality opponents for literally the first time in his career...

Personally, I hope a LOT of referees swallow their whistles this year.

He'll be a shell of his normal self anywhere outside of New England's "***system***". If he would have left NE 10 years ago, he still would have been a shell of his former self.

Can't believe there still are brady nuthuggers around despite all the proof of cheating that helped him, plus the referees giving him a special treatment through all of his career.

You just don't get drafted at the 6th round if you are so freaking good, and I'm taking greatest of all time kind of good according to many, the guy got help (illegal kind of help) to become the superstar every ******* retard think he is.

EXCELLENT POST !!!!!!

It's time we find out the "honest abe" part of t*mmyb*y's career.

10 years ago he started drinking TB 12 and to everyone's knowledge hasn't been drug tested. Go figure, so it's not just Ernie but a HUGE variety of other envelopes being pushed by the cheatriot / brady organization. He isn't going to get that kind of envelope pushing in Tampa Bay NOR the video library he had available in his prior employment...............

I doubt he makes the full season and like wig said, I hope the referees swallow their whistle and not t*mmyb*ys fluid.

I don't understand this move at all for Brady. Why not go to a team that just needs a QB? Like the Colts? If anyone thinks TB is just a QB away from the SB then they don't know TB. The defense was 29th in points given up. Plus their running game was 28th in average yards. Brady isn't going to fix those.

Its hard to judge brady last year he had terrible wrs and tes. Im sure his arm isn't what it used to be, but look what Manning did in denver with a much worse arm. Brady will be super motivated and they have good weapons so i wouldn't be shocked if he did well. I think the pats are much worse off. Sanu never looked good, their #1 wr pick didn't look so hot, they still have no TE and now no QB. The D will keep them in some games, but i could see them only winning 5-6 games

Manning’s arm was shot but that Denver team was built on defense, running the ball and quick passing to great run after catch guys like Walker and Emanuel Sanders. Tampa has a bad OL, a bad run game and their WRs are not good at the quick underneath routes.

If Tampa sticks with the classic Arians philosophy of vertical routes and lots of double moves, then Brady will still put up good stats because Evans and Godwin are that good but it won’t be as explosive as if they had a QB with a better arm. If they adjust and do more dink and dunk involving the RB and TEs then they are wasting their best offensive weapons.

Brady will have good stats. Jameis put up huge stats last year. It was his crazy high INTs that sank them. Any competent QB will put up stats with those Tampa weapons.

This is Brady abandoning ship in NE. He knows they have **** weapons. Their WRs are ****. Their TEs are ****. Their legendary OL coach retired so the OL may decline. Sony Michel is OK but has been a disappointment. He’s not an impact player.

How funny would it be if the Pats sign Winston and then have a better year than the Bucs?

This makes no sense at all to me.

What is in Tampa? Maybe Arians is the biggest bullshitter ever. I mean, he isn't that good, but around the league and the media LOVE Arians.

For all the lovefest, Arians' system is TERRIBLE for Brady. I just don't see how they work together. We know the problems here because Arians and Roethlisberger couldn't ever make the tough choices.

Even with Evans and Godwin, Brady can't turn the clock back to 2007 when he had Randy Moss. He's delusional to think that, isn't he?

This is not going to go well in my opinion. Brady will look a shell of himself, Arians will look the fool for promising the world to get him (and not delivering) and both will peter out of the NFL with whimpers in the next 3 years.

Look for AB to join that posse and bring him temporary confidence but ultimately failing at our delight.

If Brady wanted to win, he would have went to the Chargers, Colts, or Bears. They all have good defense and could be a QB away from competing. Instead he took the Bucs and their weapons that will make it easier to put up stats. Brady has an ego and doesn’t like the talk that he’s washed up. He wants a big statistical season more than wins.

Also factor in no state tax in FL and maybe Giselle told him they are going someplace warm after years in NE.

I personally think the chargers suck

If they don't change the system Brady will be in a hospital by midseason. He is a *****, look at all the hits a tough guy like Ben suffered under Arians and still got dinged. Brady's **** will be shattered

They do have a lot of good pieces though. Their defense could be elite with a health Derwin James at S. They have good possession WRs in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and TE Hunter Henry. Ekeler is a good RB. If they can get good deep WR in this draft, this offense could really take off.

I think the Chargers are real close to being a contender. If they can hit on a speed WR and add maybe another RB in the mix to replace Gordon, they will have some great weapons and it would be weapons perfect for Brady’s skill set.

The Chargers have had good talent so many times whether it was with Dan Fouts of Philip Rivers but it just never quite comes together for them. Maybe a big game player like Brady could have been the final piece to get them over the hump.

don’t forget that Arians is responsible for some of the beating Luck took early with the Colts when Arians was OC.

There are more than a few late-round or undrafted guys who've been great. If Antonio Brown didn't go off the deep end he had a chance to challenge for one of the greatest of all time.

He didn't go earlier for issues that now we all know but he always had superior talent. Brady didn't have red flags outside of football to lower his draft value. Can't be compared

I was gonna make a separate thread on this but looks like it’s already covered. Agreed Br*dy and Arians are a match made in the 9th circle of hell. BA will get Br*dy killed by halfway through the season, and when he is on the field, Br*dy will not be able to adjust his quick-hitting/rely-on-YAC game to work with big receivers who work deep down field vertically with long developing plays. It will *not* work

From what everybody is saying, it's going to be a real treat watching the new QB of the Buccaneers play.

My question is HOW will he survive without Kraft paying the refs and Belicheat cheating for him .. I STILL do not think he would be good without all of that -- I may be wrong .. but I cannot get on board that he is good until he plays good for a team other than the *PATS

He is definitely a product of "pushing the envelope" franchise. Translation: He is a cheating ****** who deserves to get tackled, a lot and hard.!!!!

Has there been any greasy inside information about this break up. Who instigated. I know if this was Ben there would be endless chatter about how the team moved on from him or he couldn't get along with Tomlin or lost the room or whatever bullshit they would make up.
