Ben aint goin nowhere. He will retire here.
Ohh hell no..hes not worth it. But at this point we have no option but to pay him because we cant find a suitable up and coming replacement. With a rookie we go 4-12 maybe 5-11...with Ben we're no worse than 8-8 unless we somehow fix the defense.
The output thats most significant (Wins and Losses as opposed to compl pctg) was affected mostly by (the lack of) stout and strong defenses we had earlier in his career.
Ben would be a brilliant match right now in Arizona or Seattle...because they have brilliant, dominant defenses.
Your team has to bee good enough where your qb doesn't have to play damn near perfect to win.
Andrew Luck makes some of the dumbest throws in EVERY game, Rodgers takes a few horrible sacks like Ben does every game, Manning throws a few bad passes every game, Brady makes **** throws every time a defender breathes near him, yet their teams still win weekly.

I get a kick out of some of the hypocrisy on here.
For example, Tomlin gets that's d for being coach "Cool Shades." Doesn't show too much emotion, has that dumb look on his face. ****, Ben has the same look. Brady is on his sideline screaming and ranting and raving. Note: I think that is all bullshit, but others have brought it up.
Another thing is this idea that a good QB is hard to find. So are coaches. But, it is always said, just because it might be hard doesn't mean they should keep Tomlin. Wouldn't that apply to Ben, too? He has been outplayed by a number of QBs this year. Maybe he just isn't as good as everyone thinks, and he may be easier to replace than we think.
Ben aint goin nowhere. He will retire here.
Wait, we are going to complain about a contract Ben hasn't even signed yet as a reason we can fix the defense?
Here's a question, when have we ever went out dropped a lot of cash in free agency? I don't have all day, the answer is never, we don't sign big name guys, so Ben's contract won't hurt us. We use the draft, and try to find guys that produce under their rookie contract.
I'm interested to know what 5 games we win. We definitely lose to Indy and the Ravens. We needed every one of those TD passes to win those. Witout Ben we would win possibly 2 or 3 games tops. We would see what a **** show Tomlin is actually fielding out there.
We used to call Bill Cowher "Coach Chin" or "The Chin" or "Coach Cosby Sweater" (that last one may not have the cache that it used to). Coming up with snappy nicknames is part of our job description.I get a kick out of some of the hypocrisy on here.

Problem with this is the talent evaluation isn't here anymore. Between "cool shades and Colbert" nothing happens.
Salute the nation

First I've heard that one.Dont forget the new one Coach Home Boy
The problem Ben is once cowher was gone he was t coached properly. He was basically coddled and allowed to do as he wants. Instead of being taught how to play the game and position. coach home boy always just said it's Ben being Ben. Now years later he has never improved his game from his second season and it's too late for him to change his habits and learn now. The steelers would be making a huge mistake to give him big money at this point
Fact is this team runs by the draft. They have sucked at drafting for 8 years now so there is no one to sign except marginal players. Ben's contract doesn't hurt the Steelers AT ALL. Seriously, who in the hell do you want to spend all the money on?
1. It's already been proven that this team's been drafting bad for way longer than 8 years. (nice try to stick Tomlin with that one)
2. Did you ever look around the league and see what a couple shut down corner's does to a team? Arizona, Cleveland, Seattle, Patriots, just to name a few. If we had just 1 shutdown CB I guarantee you we'd have a better record. But they don't have the $$ to spend on one.

Bullshit:
1. The 3 drafts before Tomlin they drafted: Holmes, Colon, Miller, McFadden, Essex, Kemo, Ben, and Starks. Let's look at Tomlin ONLY SB win:
Holmes: Starting WR who made the "Catch" in the SB.
Colon: Staring RT
Miller: Starting TE (even today)
McFadden: Starting RCB
Essex: Played in 7 games and played all over the OL
Kemo: Starting LG
Ben: SB winning QB and the only QB Tomlin has ever had
Starks: Starting LT
So please tell me how bad they were before Tomlin. Without those guys he doesn't sniff a SB.
2. Did you ever look around the league and see AZ, the clowns or the pats* win a SB in the past 10 years or EVER? Nope. Do you know where they got their shutdown CBs? THE DRAFT. The pats* signed Revis to a one year $12M contract. The Steelers are paying Worilds almost $10M because they value LBs over CBs. The Steelers don't even care enough about the CB position to DRAFT a CB high. What makes you think they'd spend a ton of money on one in FA even if they had the money?
Again your points are non-sense.
Again nice Try.. Lets try 2 years later shall we...
Super Bowl 45 Steelers vs Pakers
Holmes: Starting WR who made the "Catch" in the SB. ( gone. in is Wallace)
Colon: Staring RT (gone. in was Ramon Foster)
Miller: Starting TE (even today)
McFadden: Starting RCB (gone. in was William Gay)
Essex: Played in 7 games and played all over the OL (didnt play much this year so again not a facter.)
Kemo: Starting LG (was a big reason we lost this super bowl. cut following year)
Ben: SB winning QB and the only QB Tomlin has ever had
Starks: Starting LT (gone. In was Flozell Adams)
So Yeah... Nice Try. But those Cowher picks sucked too. Tomlin had alot his own players in his second Super Bowl run.
Beyond many factual errors, your argument doesn't even make any sense.
Players they won a Super Bowl with sucked because they didn't play in the other Super Bowl they lost?
