Like you, I'm an analytical Steelers fan. I tend to be critical of coaches and players whom I don't think are performing well. I get that it's not always enjoyable when the Steelers play poorly. And I used to come here for the cathartic release of my frustrations about it with other people who agreed (or even disagreed) with me.
This season is different. There are only 12 other teams in the Super Bowl era to begin the year with at least 11 straight wins. To use your words: It IS amazing. It IS special. Seems to me, in years past, the Steelers probably would have lost that Cowboys game. Or they might have lost yesterday to the undermanned Ravens as a huge favorite. But they didn't. They are finding ways to keep winning games, and whether you want recognize it or not, in the end, wins determine everything. Only one team from the postseason wins their final game. Are you saying that you wouldn't enjoy watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl if they didn't play up to your standards? Really? Hopefully you aren't old enough to remember their first Super Bowl victory, because surely you would have been let down with a 2-0 halftime score, and Terry Bradshaw passing for a grand total of 96 yards.
I don't want to tell you what to feel or how to feel it, but take it from me: I am enjoying the hell out of this undefeated season. **** wins or blowouts, it doesn't make a difference to me, because what the Steelers are doing right now is historical. And guess what? 7 out of those other 12 teams didn't even win the Super Bowl
I'm going to truly appreciate this as long as I can. I only suggest that you try and do the same. Welcome to the board.
