This Team Is All Good, Chill

Not gonna lie, I'm a fan of Glory Days.

One thing is for certain. This ain't Pop/Hollywood Bags/ etc ad nauseam.
Well that is plus... did you check both new accounts vs cooch's IP? [emoji16]

It's exactly what you said. Maybe you should have bolded more text? I said the players didn't feel it was a win. You said, "it doesn't matter if they feel it was a win"

Stop freaking out, Karen, it's just a message board.

the rest of the post is what matters. it goes in the record book as a W. how they feel doesn't change that. that was the point of my post and you know that

as slash said, I have not been freaking out. You are being confrontational and that is a fact

While you may say your opinion is no better or worse than anyone else, but calling others casual fans (which no, it is not an insult) and stressing your coaching experience gives the tone to your posts that you feel superior to the "casual fans" on this site.

I like how you admit to labeling people that you have just started interacting with. I have not labeled you yet, but am certainly working toward one for you.

I think WarEagle's point was demonstrated

I haven't gotten to watch 11 wins this season. My rose colored glasses are broken. I enjoy watching the Steelers play good football, win or lose. I don't enjoy watching the Steelers suck, win or lose. If all that matters is the W, then don't watch the game or even watch highlights. Just stare at the standings for 3 hours every week. Hopefully, you can invite friends over for a post- super bowl party to celebrate the victory. You can spend the time during the game shopping for snacks since the actual play doesn't matter, only the outcome.

Being undefeated is amazing, and this team certainly knows how to do enough to pluck victory from defeat. That is what makes them special this season. But at some point, when it counts, they are going to have to actually play good football for 60 minutes or all these "wins" won't mean anything.

That's what many of you misunderstand. Many of us complain because we love the Steelers and want them to succeed. None of us want them to lose so we can complain. To me, winning the super bowl is more important than record. And to win it, we have to be better than we have been in the past 11 games.

Like you, I'm an analytical Steelers fan. I tend to be critical of coaches and players whom I don't think are performing well. I get that it's not always enjoyable when the Steelers play poorly. And I used to come here for the cathartic release of my frustrations about it with other people who agreed (or even disagreed) with me.

This season is different. There are only 12 other teams in the Super Bowl era to begin the year with at least 11 straight wins. To use your words: It IS amazing. It IS special. Seems to me, in years past, the Steelers probably would have lost that Cowboys game. Or they might have lost yesterday to the undermanned Ravens as a huge favorite. But they didn't. They are finding ways to keep winning games, and whether you want recognize it or not, in the end, wins determine everything. Only one team from the postseason wins their final game. Are you saying that you wouldn't enjoy watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl if they didn't play up to your standards? Really? Hopefully you aren't old enough to remember their first Super Bowl victory, because surely you would have been let down with a 2-0 halftime score, and Terry Bradshaw passing for a grand total of 96 yards.

I don't want to tell you what to feel or how to feel it, but take it from me: I am enjoying the hell out of this undefeated season. **** wins or blowouts, it doesn't make a difference to me, because what the Steelers are doing right now is historical. And guess what? 7 out of those other 12 teams didn't even win the Super Bowl

I'm going to truly appreciate this as long as I can. I only suggest that you try and do the same. Welcome to the board.

We argue/fuss with one another more often than not. However, on this I can't just silently nod my head without acknowledging that I agree. Good post.

Steelernation.com forums, ladies and gentlemen

I watch the initial telecast as a fan and so I have seen 11 wins. Whether the coach or player or some of you posters think they feel like wins or not, they go into the record book as wins.

But as my post game threads show, even with the wins, even in the blowout wins, I have stated areas they need to improve.

I re-watch all the game since I know several here will post threads complaining about different issues whether real or imagined. You guys who have been here know who posts the most imagined issue threads. I watch it off my DVR and the nfl.com game pass. I may not be in the top tier of tape analysis and I've never coached or played above the high school level, but I try to be open minded (even when I'm fighting against being a University of Houston homer) I see the warts on this team as well as most of the board, but I am not going to nick pick and cast aspersions just to show I am not viewing the game through Black and Gold glasses.

This team has problems, but so do the Chiefs and every other team in the league. To win, you need to know those weaknesses and exploit them. So far Ben has been successful doing that. This past game should not have been as close as it was. Drops in the passing game were the chief cause. DJ, Claypool and Ebron all had multiple key miscues to ruin what would have been good plays. Passes thrown 4 yards short of the marker on 3rd down or also an issue and have been ******* forever. These passes only work when the receiver has a step and the middle is open for them to exploit.

We welcome all to join in the discussion and talk about the team we love. We don't like posters joining and starting to act as if they are better than others (even when they claim to admit they say their opinion is no better than others) The Glory Days and I seem to have gotten off on the wrong footing today. He took offense to something that I did not mean as an insult but rather to point out that if he is truly a "new" member he would not know the history of the board and the tendencies of several of the posters here. If he is truly a new member he should really just wait and read some of these guys for a few years and he will see my point. If he is a reincarnation of an old poster then he is being falsely indignant and should just get over himself.

Anyway, the team is 11-0 and I got a good buzz going from some Yellow Rose Single Malt and really don't give a ****. I have posted here from the beginning and still enjoy myself here even though most of the really good posters have moved on. I would name the guys who post that I still like, but I know in my current state I would forget a few and insult them by the omission.

Enjoy the season, celebrate the wins while keeping an eye on the weaknesses, but know NO TEAM IS PERFECT. the chiefs are not unbeatable. Yes it will be a fight if they end up playing the Steelers, but the Steelers defense even with the injuries is ******* tough as hell and Ben is playing exceptionally well and it will be a challenge for the chiefs defense to stop him and his group of young pass catchers.

hopefully in the end, this season ends the way we want it to

God I love Steeler Nation.

Wow...
We got a new competitor for Coach in the "Miss Congeniality" contest.

Coach v.2? Nah.

I think the original broke the mold, my man.

There are some parallels between the 2008 Steelers and the 2020 Steelers in that they both are/were carried by their defenses and had inconsistent offenses that found ways to score enough to win.

However, the 2008 team managed a 12+ win season while playing a MUCH tougher schedule than the 2020 Steelers. It also had the better run defense and secondary, and with Dupree out, the better pass rush as well.

This is definitely one of the weakest 11-0 teams ever. I do not think anyone is worried about facing them in the playoffs and the Chiefs would probably be favored by four or five points as of right now.

Ah the weakest team angle. But they beat a good defense rat team twice, a very good Titans team, had a stronger strength of opponent than the Chiefs. Watt isn't our only pass rusher with Dupree down. We have Tuitt,Heyward,Hilton, and we have to wait to see what we have in Highsmith who has had reps on D due to capable performance. The O averages in the high 20s. So I think they are a very capable offense despite a huge drop game that held them to under that average. They have two defensive player of the year candidates and a WR group capable of moving the chains even against the best defense. Anywho it doesn't matter who the weakest undefeated team is/was. It matters who the strongest team is this year and the Steelers are in the running. I believe BigBen will give this team a chance to win any game. Until we know how it ends I am going to enjoy the ride even if a few fans are incapable of hopping on the bus. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIXIr-fpfw4/?igshid=uonhtzt11d0n

Just as I feared. The media train is already trying to diminish the Steelers' accomplishments this year for winning all of their games. This is what happens when you don't beat the spread in an afternoon game against a depleted roster.

If our schedule is so easy, why do the Ravens have 5 losses? And Cleve have 3? Probably because we are better than them. Much better than them. One thing the fans of this team have to realize, is we do one thing better than the rest of the league, and that is the short area pass attack. We are a run a shoot team now. We are the Patriots with talent.

Stating this team can't win by running the ball late in the year is bullshit. We're a run and shoot team and are #2 in the league in TOP. Why? Because our receivers usually catch the football and the clock runs when they do. We are 4 minutes up on TOP from the Titans with King Henry. STFU pundits, you are missing what is making this team great, while trying to constantly knock them down. The Steelers will keep winning until someone figures out a way to stop the quick pass attack. Ravens have the personnel to go man on our receivers. No other team in the league has a secondary that can touch us.

When you see an undefeated team, but miss what they are doing to win, you will never truly appreciate them. I also haven't gotten to our D that is leading the league in most categories. Bud is not our D. He still had some games this year with little impact, but he was a playmaker, and we will need some plays made from the other side of TJ Watt.

Man I hate to reference the cheats but besides cheating their short passing game benefited them well. I think this team can win a SB with it. If they sharpen that strength moving forward anything is possible.

saw Pete Prisco saying that the Steelers clearly played down to their competition (as always) but that the game was never as remotely close as the scoreboard might make one think, that the Steelers were in complete control of the game and that the mistakes that happened kept the rats close, the Steelers still are #1 in his rank, FWIW.

My point is that maybe not all media guys are harpooning the Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Heyward, TJ Watt, Joe Haden, Minkah Fitzpatrick, JuJu Smith Schuster .... Anyone think those guys make it to the playoffs and aren't inspired to make a serious run at the title? Anyone think any one of those guys is incapable of motivating the guys he plays with to ramp it up for such a run?
Nah, me neither.

Nah, me neither.

We’re loaded and have the next core group to make a dynasty.
It feels like the mid 2000’s all over again.
