The unfortunate "big picture" on Monday Morning.

No Cope. The Steelers have to play THEM. Make no mistake. The impetus is on the Steelers. And right now for a ton of reasons, they are right at the line. And that just won't cut it against playoff caliber teams.

And other teams have to contend with this:

Slowing down the best WR in the league.
If you slow down AB, you still have to contend with JuJu
Finding a way to match up a fast ILB (HA) or a box safety to cover Vance.
Keeping an eye on Conner, is he running or going out for a pass?
Planning for a HOF QB
Planning for an OC that switches strategies and personnel on the fly

Planning to slow the league's #1 pass rush
Can you still move the ball if they take away your #1 WR (Yes to all but Sanders thus far).
If you have a rush attack, can you account for which ILB/Box Safety will be hitting the A/B gap on run blitzes?

Dealing with the only team in the NFL that is top 10 on O and D

There's quite a bit to plan for when you play the Steelers, and thus far, only teams that won the turnover battle have found a way to win. And even if you win the TO battle, victory still isn't certain against this team.

Broncos said they doubled AB and JuJu to make the rest of the offense beat them. According to Bucky Brooks, it worked very well on Sunday.

Did it? Seeing how the Steelers racked up 500 yards. And then beat themselves with turnovers. I would say it didn't work for them too well.

You act as if turnovers are 100% fluke and not part of a team's quality. Sometimes they are, but explain why some teams consistently do not turn the ball over, but create turnovers, while other teams are FAIL on that end.

The Steelers suck at taking the ball away and suck at not giving it away: 26th in the NFL. It won't be a surprise if NOT generating turnovers but GIVING the ball away will end their season.

Turnovers are among the MOST important elements of winning or losing, but treat them flippantly. BIG mistake. You have much to learn.

They won. Scoreboard. Nothing else matters. I guess it did work out for them, as scoreboard trumps all. Everything else is superfluous.

This offense is really close to being a Saints/KC/Rams offense. The only thing stopping this team from scoring is themselves. Dropped passes, over thrown open receivers, turnovers, and penalties are the only thing stopping these drives. If it comes together, they will be tough to beat. Just remember, the other teams have to play us. Not the other way around...
We are 1 all pro runningback away from being a top tier team.

Deflategate had a lot to do with the cheater's not turning the ball over, proven fact..............................worm

Not at all and his justification was the other guys didn't do enough to make the plays, which he was sort of right about given turnovers by Grimble and Conner. However, he mostly looked like a clown trying to say Denver shut down the Steelers.

As for the P*ts, They can't overcome Ernie Adams. I have no doubt of that. Even if they manage to win the regular season matchup, which is unlikely, they cannot possibly beat them in the playoffs. Ernie will have what he needs of Fichtner's verbiage and scheme and Tom Brady will be whispered to in the playoffs and once more the perfect play will appear at the perfect moment, somehow magically to continue their unending streak.

Frankly I'd prefer they lose to the Pats***** in the regular season. Assuming they face the Cheating Bastiges From New England in the playoffs, well, their chances of beating them are always slim and the odds of beating them twice in one season is just zero. As far as I'm concerned, until Shades can beat Belicheat and Br*dy, he can't beat Belicheat and Br*dy.

you were military and not that stupid. So we know better

Oh sure, most of you view me as the all knowing prophet that will lead you to the promised land and that is true

Cope,

Would that be considered a “balanced” attack from this poorly coached team with a bum for a QB and a poor man’s Lev Bell arrogantly running the ball? What?!? No way! Say it isn’t so Cope! Triple Yoi!!!

You lost me at Grimble's fumble. It wasn't crap luck, it was a boneheaded play by a guy who got jacked by a smaller player.

What?!
Tyreek Hill had a similar game to Sanders and Mahomes threw 6 tds.

All that was ego. Hulk smash. He even said himself. Easy cut back for td. It's ego

They beat them last year. That was a ******* catch. Pats***** can suck it. Their fans can suck it to. Cheating *****.

Brady will make this Steelers pass defense piss blood, you know it, deep down

There's nothing magic about that team other than all of the insider info and study. Out work them in that department. It's not gosh damn rocket science. Change all of your stuff and turn off the damn radios. Go old school and I guarantee you they will look just like everyone else. Now if all this **** is just a work anyway, then it wont matter.

Don't get me wrong. I WANT them to win every game. I WANT them to go undefeated every season. I just get frustrated with the inconsistency.

In fairness, they HAVE put together a pretty impressive streak and it was completely unrealistic to assume they would continue it all the way through the season. Indeed, that may have been detrimental as they'd be riding a wave of extreme confidence into the playoffs.

I will be watching the San Diego game with great interest.

Why don't you explain it then? Not trying to be a smart *** but the reasons for turning the ball over can be explained, but how do you explain "creating turnovers". How does a team "fail" at getting turnovers?

You sound like creating turnovers is incorporated into a game plan and that the Steelers suck at it.

Getting turnovers has always been looked at as bonuses that come along with having a good D, and Pitt has a good D.

Whats crazy is that the Steelers are no. 8 in pass defense, so you'd think they'd have more INT's...in fact none of the elite teams other than Houston and San Diego appear in the top 10 in pass defense!
The Steelers are better at pass D than San Diego, Chicago, NO (who really suck at it) Rams, NE....all in the + column.

Makes no sense. A mystery.

...one was a 1 or 2 in 100 case of Brown NOT making the toe-tap on the sideline...

But - they aren't even in the same area-code as the Chiefs, or the Rams. And while neither of those teams have much of a defense, does anyone really believe they'll NEED one against the Steelers? The odds that Pittsburgh can outscore either of those teams is more unlikely than Brown missing a toe-tap on a sideline catch.

So, in your opinion, the Steelers have less than a 1-2% chance to beat the Chiefs or Rams?

I'd estimate the Steelers would be around a touchdown underdog in KC or on a neutral field against the Rams, which would make them about a 3:1 underdog. Not 50:1 or 99:1.

Your math is a little fuzzy, my man.

Truthfully, odd as it sounds, I would have felt better about this team had they simply been soundly, fundamentally beaten by the Broncos. As it is, with the cruel bounce of fate being the primary catalyst, I doubt Tomlin or the players will take the loss seriously. Why would they? This was an aberration of titanic proportions. So, they'll proceed as they must, in a business as usual manner and the Chargers will eviscerate this defense. The offense may or may not play well, but with the points San Diego will put up, it won't matter.

The only defenses the Chargers have scored more than 30 points on are the Bills, Browns, and Cardinals. Big ******* whoop. And this eviscerating juggernaut of whom you're so afraid just lost to those same Broncos 8 days ago, scoring a whopping 22 points. At home, not in Denver.

And, yes, the Steelers are favored to win this game.

Give the team you love a more realistic chance before you give up on the season.
