yep, still winning!

Climate change skeptics run the Trump administration

President Donald Trump is filling the upper ranks of his administration with appointees who share his disbelief in the scientific evidence for climate change — giving them an opportunity to impose their views on policies ranging from disaster planning to national security to housing standards.

At the Interior Department, decisions about Pacific island territories threatened by rising seas are in the hands of an assistant secretary who has criticized “climate alarmists” for “once again predicting the end of the world as we know it.” Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue’s top advisers include a former talk radio host who has dismissed much climate research as “junk science.”

Jimmy ******* Carter...legendary piece of ****. Second worst President of all time, after Ocommie.

Jimmy might not have been a great president, but he's done more after his term as president, than any president I can think of.

Nailing a few 2 x 4’s doesn’t make up for being an extremely ****** President.

Jimmy might not have been a great president, but he's done more after his term as president, than any president I can think of.

He is a way better past president than he was president for sure. Although the bar for his presidency was pretty low.

He did actually EARN his Nobel Peace Prize, too.

I think Trumps actions are "deplorable"..........hahahaha

This has been in development long since before Trump. In fact, they had a destroyer that shot another boat with a laser 2 or 3 years ago. They have shot down drones as well.

Yeah, but I bet that Trump increasing the military budget by $700 billion had something to do with them actually being widely used now.

U.S. stock market set to jump after report indicates strongest job market in two decades
Published: Mar 9, 2018 8:36 a.m. ET

U.S. stock futures climbed firmly higher Friday morning after the jobs report for February came in better than forecast. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures YMM8, +0.80% rose 151 points, or 0.6%, to 25,072, while those for the S&P 500 futures ESM8, +0.70% advanced 14 points, or 0.5%, at 2,759, while Nasdaq-100 futures NQM8, +0.76% rose 46 points, or 0.7%, to 7,048.50. The U.S. created 313,000 new jobs in February, the biggest gain since mid-2016 and a reflection of the strongest labor market in two decades. Economists polled by MarketWatch had predicted a 222,000 increase in nonfarm jobs. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1%. Hourly pay rose 4 cents, or 0.1%, to $26.75 an hour, the government said Friday.

More winning. Couldn't we lose just a little? Nah, just kidding. Anyone think America's back with a fresh set of balls? Take that Vlad!

Yet overall U.S. output this year will average 10.7 million barrels a day, breaking the 1970 record of 9.6 million barrels a day, according to EIA’s monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook. That’s after production jumped to a record high of 10.057 million barrels a day in November, according to previous data from the EIA.

Next year, average output will climb to 11.27 million, up from a prior forecast of 11.18 million, the report showed. That puts the U.S. on track to eclipse the likes of Saudi Arabia and Russia as the world’s largest producer.

And we're finally seeing the effect of practically full employment on wages:

More winning.

And I have a comment about North Korea too. Not ONE mainstream media outlet is complimenting Trump or his administration on instigating maybe the greatest step towards possible peace and/or denuclearization in the Korean peninsula since possibly the end of the war (knowing the last talks in 1993 and 2005 were complete failures).

NOT ONE media outlet. They are still running with the narrative that Trump is a hindrance, that he has done nothing positive since coming into office and that Congress and their sanctions are the sole reason for "change".

What a load of horseshit. Without Trump taking a hard tact, without bullying the weak Kim Jung Il, without pushing congress to TAKE harder action, none of this would have happened. Just like nothing ******* happened under the global weakling Barack Obama.

I for one am not buying the propaganda of our media. Whatever comes out of these Korean talks (and I honestly hope for something good like less nukes, less advancement in their ICBM technology or even more human rights for North Koreans), I am placing those accomplishments where they belong. At the feet of Donald J. Trump and his administration. And if you don't, you are a hater that would rather see Trump fail to inflate your ego or reinforce your preconceived biases than actually wish for something better in this world.

Don't you remember when those North Korean launches all had "failures" last year? Three in a row, with high end naval assets just offshore.
They got zapped out of the sky.

They are not being widely used. They are still in development. And funds are laid out for this stuff YEARS in advance. It is called lifecycle management. Hard to tell what phase they are in though. Programs can take a decade or more from development to fielding.

Take the AH-64 Apache for example. The Army requested proposals in 1972. Hughes Helicopter won the contract in 1975. In 1981, they delivered 3 prototypes. The Army got it's first Apache in 1984, and the first Apache Battalion was stood up in 1986. So that is 14 years just to get one unit. Pretty sure weaponized lasers will take a bit longer. Trump's only hand in this is that he didn't allow the program to be cancelled, if he did that.

Breaking: Trump Announces Who He’s Pardoning, and Hillary Is Gonna Straight Lose It

On Friday, President Donald Trump has issued the second pardon of his presidency, pardoning former Navy sailor Kristian Saucier.

Saucier was the sailor who Trump frequently spoke of when he was campaigning, noting that his life was “ruined” for not even doing anything close to what Hillary Clinton did.

Saucier was 22 years old when he took pictures aboard his nuclear submarine. His actions cost him dearly. He lost his career in the Navy and was sent to prison for a year.

His lawyer invoked Hillary Clinton during his trial, arguing that Saucier shouldn’t be held to a higher standard for doing much less.

From Washington Examiner:

The photos Saucier, now 31, took inside the sub were deemed “confidential,” meaning the lowest level of classification, even though some depicted the vessel’s nuclear reactor. Clinton, by contrast, sent and received more highly classified information on a private and insecure email server.

Saucier told the Washington Examiner earlier this year that a felony conviction made it hard to find work. He worked as a garbage man to support his wife and young daughter. His family’s cars were repossessed while he was in prison and his Vermont home is in foreclosure. Saucier has several months left of wearing an ankle monitor.

US Steel CEO: We're reopening an idled plant and bringing back 500 jobs due to Trump tariffs

U.S. Steel CEO David Burritt told CNBC on Wednesday his company will reopen a steel plant in the United States due to President Donald Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs.

"We're really excited to be able to tell our employees in the community in Granite City, Illinois, that we will be calling back 500 employees," Burritt said during an interview with "Squawk Box."

The company will restart two blast furnaces and the steelmaking facilities at its Granite City Works integrated plant in Illinois. The restart process could take up to four months.

Burritt said the facility had been idle since December 2015 because of what he called unfair trade practices. "If you don't have customers here to sell to and you can't make money, you have to shut them down," he contended.

Some on Wall Street and in Washington remain skeptical on whether Trump's tariffs would indeed bring back steel jobs in force. They've been in a steady decline for years.

Burritt thanked Trump for "courageous leadership" on tariffs.

Last Thursday, the president proposed a plan for import tariffs of 25 percent steel and 10 percent on aluminum, a move seen as a contributing factor to top White House economic advisor Gary Cohn's decision to resign. Cohn, a former No. 2 executive at Goldman Sachs, was against imposing tariffs.

On Wednesday, appearing with Burritt on CNBC, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the White House is not trying to "blow up the world" with its tariffs, and indicated that Trump would be open to exempting U.S. trading partners Canada and Mexico if a reworked NAFTA can be reached.

"This feels like the beginning of a renaissance for us," said Burritt, a former chief financial officer at heavy equipment maker Caterpillar. "It's really important that we get this right, and now it's finally happening."

Burritt said the strength of the U.S. depended on the tariffs. "You've got to be able to make stuff in the United States. If you take away our ability to make things, you don't really have a society."

"Just think about the way the U.K. used to have a big manufacturing base. It went away. If you don't make stuff, you can't have a strong country. You can't protect yourself and you go by the way of Greece or maybe Puerto Rico," he added.

Trump Deserves A Nobel Peace Prize More Than Obama

Former White House aide Sebastian Gorka said that he believes President Trump is much more deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize than President Obama in part because he accepted an invitation to speak with North Korea leaders that the three prior administrations have rejected.

“The decision of North Korea to invite, for the first time ever, a sitting American president to come and be engaged in peace talks on the peninsula and to help denuclearize that situation is second only to the crushing of the caliphate of ISIS,” Gorka said, conveniently leaving out the fact that every president since Bill Clinton has been offered and has declined opportunities to speak with North Korean leadership.

Gorka also praised Trump’s widely criticized tariff proposals on steel and his taunting of the North Korean dictator on Twitter before suggesting that Donald Trump deserved a Nobel Peace Prize more than the Obama, who received the award in 2009 for his plans to scale down American military operations abroad.

“Think of the irony—just the absurdity—of Barack Obama being given a Nobel Peace prize, given the chaos he helped create in the Middle East and Asia and in Europe,” Gorka said.

“Who do you think deserves a peace prize more? The man who basically ignored Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, facilitated the mullahs in Iran, appeased North Korea and China, and celebrated the Muslim Brotherhood, or a man who has helped with, of course, the American armed forces, crushed ISIS in the Middle East, revitalized NATO, reassured our allies in Asia and may—if there is fruit from these negotiations—may bring peace to the Korean peninsula after more than 60 year?”

Oooh, a Gorka sighting. Tibs, get your shine box.

And regarding ISIS, Trump has basically destroyed them in a year. A nice change from Obama supporting them for eight years, even running weapons to them through Benghazi, proving that he is an anti-American terrorist and guilty of treason.

Senate votes to roll back parts of Dodd-Frank banking law

(CNN)The Senate on Wednesday passed sweeping changes to a swath of rules adopted in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

The measure crafted by Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo, the top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, passed 67 to 31, marking a rare occurrence of old-fashioned legislating on a bipartisan bill that nevertheless sharply divided Democrats.

The legislation will now move to the House, where it will need to be reconciled with possible fixes proposed by Rep. Jeb Hensarling, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.

A White House press secretary said in a statement that President Donald Trump supports Crapo's bill and would sign it into law. Still, the White House left the door open to possible changes that could be made by House lawmakers as long as the bipartisan bill reaches the president's desk "as soon as possible."
