Congress votes to open Alaska refuge to oil drilling

Congress voted Wednesday to open Alaska’s remote Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil and natural gas drilling, ending more than four decades of heated debate on the matter.

The House voted 224-201, mostly along party lines, to pass the Republicans’ tax overhaul bill, which has the ANWR drilling provision attached to it.

It followed the Senate’s 51-48 vote along party lines early Wednesday morning to pass the bill.

President Trump Threatens to Cut Aid to UN Members Who Vote Against Jerusalem

U.S. president says he 'likes' envoy Nikki Haley's warning to UN member states and that he is, indeed, 'watching their votes'

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off financial aid to countries that vote in favor Thursday of the United Nations resolution rejecting Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital

"They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us," Trump said. "Well, we're watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We'll save a lot. We don't care."

WASHINGTON (AP) — At least three major companies are building goodwill in the wake of President Donald Trump’s tax cuts by finding ways to pass along some of their likely savings to employees.

AT&T says it will pay a $1,000 bonus to 200,000 workers once the tax bill passed Wednesday is signed into law. The Justice Department is currently suing to block a proposed $85 billion merger between AT&T and Time Warner, a deal Trump has objected to as “not good for the country.”

Ohio-based Fifth Third Bancorp says it will pay a $1,000 bonus to more than 13,500 employees, as well as raise the minimum wage for 3,000 of its workers to $15 an hour.

Major government contractor Boeing will provide an additional $300 million for job-training, facility upgrades and charitable giving.

The economy and Trump are going to steamroll through 2020.

No potential 2nd term President loses when the economy is going to be doing as well as it's going to be doing 3 years from now. It just doesn't happen.

The media and snowflakes will still be whining (and by then on deaf ears) and the American people will vote like they always do. Based on the economy. It's a truism in American politics that goes back 100's of years.

I would also argue with Tibs that if the economy is good enough people (and congress) won't give a **** is the Mueller investigation says Trump is the Anti-Christ.

Speaking of jobs and labor. Let us not forget the folks at the NLRB. Since Trump came into office, the mood changed quite a bit.

NLRB GOP Majority Goes Out With a Bang

Board overturns nearly every major Obama labor decision

While much of Washington's attention centered on President Donald Trump's tax reform, his appointees to the nation's top federal labor arbiter reversed nearly all of the Obama administration's major pro-union initiatives.

The three-member Republican majority at the National Labor Relations Board reversed course on a number of the Obama board's most controversial rulings as Chairman Philip Miscimarra's term ended on Friday.

Tomi Lahren's Final Thoughts: A Christmas Message for Melting Snowflakes
'If you're offended by the American flag, you're a snowflake.'

TOMI LAHREN'S FINAL THOUGHTS COMMENTARIES ARE EXCLUSIVELY ON FOX NEWS INSIDER.

It’s time for a special Christmas edition of Final Thoughts. It may be winter, but it’s still melting season…snowflake melting season, that is.

Uh oh, have I already offended you?

In Britain for example, a new survey by insurance firm Aviva found that 72 percent of 16 to 24-year-olds there believe the term “snowflake” is unfairly applied to millennials. 74 percent of respondents took it a step farther, arguing that they believe the use of the label could have a negative effect on young people’s mental health.

And that my friends, is special snowflake syndrome at its finest.

So what is a snowflake? Well, allow me to explain.

Tomi: 'Mueller Probe Isn't an Investigation, It's a Witch Hunt'

If you spend more time occupying the streets in “protest” than you occupy a shower, or a job, you’re a snowflake.

If you’ve convinced yourself that despite any actual evidence, Russia somehow stole the election from Hillary, you are a snowflake.

If your favorite arts and crafts projects consist of knitting pink hats in the shape of a reproductive organs or scribbling “Resist” on a cardboard sign, you are a snowflake.

If choosing between two gender options seems unfair to you, you are a snowflake.

If you demand a safe space from conservative speakers but think it’s perfectly acceptable to burn and smash up your own campus in protest, you are a snowflake - a violent snowflake - but a snowflake nonetheless.

If you think that you, by virtue of being born, deserve a participation trophy, you are a snowflake.

If you think someone else should pay for your college education, you are a snowflake. There is no such thing as "free." It's not free if your neighbor pays for it.

If you think borders, walls, and immigration laws are mean, you are a snowflake.

If recognizing the “Islam” in radical Islamic terrorism offends you, you are a snowflake.

If you think an AR-15 is a military assault rifle, you are a snowflake.

If you have never bought, shot, or touched a firearm but insist you are an expert on gun policy, you are a snowflake, and terribly misinformed.

If the American flag and the National Anthem offend you, you are a snowflake and you should take your snowflake booty and relocate to another country since you clearly don’t appreciate this one.

If a simple Christmas greeting sends you into a PC orbit, you are a snowflake.

And last but not least, if you are more concerned with what our president tweets than the great things he’s doing for jobs, GDP, the stock market, border and national security, you are for dang sure a snowflake.

It’s time to wake up and realize you are special to your parents, not anyone else. You need to get over the notion that the worst thing that can happen to you is hurt feelings.

If you sit back and wait for someone to offend you, you’re not living a very full or productive life. Dry your tears, accept reality, and get to work. If you don’t like the way your life is going, change it. Life is tough, get a helmet.

Those are my final thoughts. From LA, God Bless and Merry Christmas.

HEEL!

Haley’s remarks emphasized democratic accountability and took a possible swipe at countries that oppose the U.S., countries which are frequently lacking in such accountability. She warned:

America will put our embassy in Jerusalem, that is what the American p[eople want us to do, and it is the right thing to do. No vote at the United Nations will make any difference on that, but this vote will make a difference on how Americans look at the U.N. and on how we look at countries who disrespect us in the U.N. and this vote will be remembered.

Haley’s remarks come a day after President Trump also warned about pulling money from “nations that take our money and vote against us.”

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars then vote against us, well we’re watching those votes,” he said. “Let them vote against us; we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”

Ha ha, **** the UN and their irrelevant vote!

Year One List: 81 major Trump achievements, 11 Obama legacy items repealed

With the passage of the GOP tax bill this week, the Trump administration has scored 81 major achievements in its first year, making good on campaign promises to provide significant tax cuts, boost U.S. energy production, and restore respect to the United States, according to the White House.

And along the way, President Trump even outdid his own expectations and slashed at least 11 major legacy items of former President Barack Obama, including cracking down on the open border, slowing recognition of communist Cuba and effectively killing Obamacare by ending the mandate that everyone have health insurance or face a tax.

According to the White House, the 81 accomplishments are in 12 major categories and include well over 100 other minor achievements. The unofficial list helps to counter the impression in the mainstream media and among congressional Democrats that outside the approval of Supreme Court Neil Gorsuch and passage of the tax reform bill little was done.

Defund the UN!

Marco Rubio slams ‘anti-Americanism’ of UN; says it’s time to ‘reevaluate’ US funding

Sen. Rubio said it was time for a “reevaluation” of U.S. funding for the U.N. If Marco Rubio wants to defund the U.N., Trump might have his back.

Senator Rubio’s suggestion follows comments by President Donald Trump threatening to cut off financial aid to countries that vote in favor of the U.N. resolution condemning American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We’ll save a lot. We don’t care,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

Criminal aliens not 'undocumented workers'?

hahahahahahahaha

BUILD THAT WALL!

Trump officials make case for border wall

Officials from the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice on Thursday made the case for President Trump's border wall, arguing that the nation would not have to spend money detaining people who illegally crossed the border if a barrier was built.

“If we a had a barrier, a border wall, along the southern border, it is undeniable that more of those offenses will not have to be prosecuted and that we will not have to pay to incarcerate aliens for committing such offenses along the southern border,” one senior administration official said in a call to reporters.

The two agencies made the argument as they released the Alien Incarceration Report, which highlights the number of undocumented immigrants held in federal custody.

This year's report found that the Justice Department at the end of the 2017 fiscal year in September held 58,766 individuals who were “known or suspected aliens.” Of the 37,557 individuals the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) determined to be aliens, 94 percent of them were in the United States illegally.

The report comes amid the Trump administration’s broader crackdown on illegal immigration, pushed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and sanctioned by President Trump, who desires to fulfill his campaign promise of a wall on the southern border.

“While the administration is working diligently to remove dangerous criminal aliens from our streets, this report highlights the fact that more must be done,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

“We will continue to pursue President Trump’s immigration priorities, including securing the border, enhancing interior enforcement, and pursuing a merit-based immigration system, but Congress must act immediately to adopt obvious solutions to strengthen DHS [Department of Homeland Security] and DOJ [Department of Justice] efforts to confront dangerous criminal aliens.”
