Yeah, a while back I had a crew of Mexicans doing a project on my house. They did an excellent job and did it at slave wages. I hope ICE doesn't get those guys.

I am all for it, IF AND ONLY IF, we have already fixed the border issues that permitted them to get in in the first place. Otherwise, we just motivate more illegal crossings. I think most conservatives can sympathize with the illegals who are busting their ***** we just know what happens when you put the cart before the horse. Finish the wall and make sure it is truly secure. Get out as many troublemakers as you can and make sure going forward, we deport any newcomers immediately that cross illegally. Congress must act to strengthen the border laws, streamline the deportation system but at the same time seriously revamp the existing legal immigration system to make it more fair, quicker cheaper but at the same time safer. The hoops people have to jump through unnecessarily are ridiculous. I can't imagine even Trog would disagree with this, but he will. I think Tibs would be fine with it as long as you don't say Trump.

but what to do with the ones that have been here for a decade or more(arbritory timeframe I know) that have followed the rules, etc. I say let them stay and become citizens.

I am saying that, AFTER we finish stopping the inflow. Only then do we address those still here. I understand some may get sent back in the meantime and I feel for them, but it is unfortunate. Maybe the companies they worked for can also have an amnesty and have a program to sponsor them to come back if they were shipped out. The company would have to pay the costs.

I could support a NON CITIZEN residency program for those that have been here for at least 5 years with verification. The following rules would apply.

1. Must not have committed ANY crime other than illegal entry.
2. Taxes must be paid on ALL earnings.
3. $5000 fine for illegal entry, can be paid over 10 years @ 3% interest.
4. Will NEVER be eligible for US citizenship.
5. Can self deport and illegal entry will not be held against you towards applying for US Citizenship.
6. Will be counted on US Census, but the population will not count towards US House representation numbers.
7. Will not be eligible for any Federal assistance programs of any kind.
8. If attending a PUBLIC College, tuition will be charged a 20% surcharge.
9. Honorable Military service of 8 years will allow for US Citizenship application.
10. Any felony conviction AFTER entry into the program will result in immediate revocation of residency and subsequent deportation.
11. Any child born of parents with Non Citizenship US Residency will also be considered Non Citizenship US residents
12. Will not be able to vote in ANY Federal elections. Voting eligibility for State and local elections will be up to the State and local voters.

Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!

I'm really mixed on this. I agree that govt subsidies should be a lot less, if not gone all together. But, the criticism of him being juvenile is true too often, and is seen here. He could have communicated this in a much more mature, diplomatic way.
 
 
Trump just keeps on winning. Big Beautiful Bill passes. I just got a huge raise. ALS how about the job report ? The unemployment number ? Over and over right Alina nd again !
