The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

When you make a product that no one wants to buy, there is nothing the gov't can do.<iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets/widget_iframe.c9b0d6e1ef0320c49dc875c581cc9586.html?origin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.steelernationforums.com&settingsEndpoint=https%3A%2F%2Fsyndication.twitter.com%2Fsettings" title="Twitter settings iframe" style="display: none;"></iframe><iframe id="rufous-sandbox" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true" style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden; display: none; width: 0px; height: 0px; padding: 0px; border: none;" title="Twitter analytics iframe"></iframe>

And having a system of selling them that makes everyone hate going to get one and sell the very pricy product that has you 20%+ underwater before you get home.

It was dumb of the gubmint to save it the first time.

Let's get the party started!

Capitalism at its finest. Tibs and other Libtards would expect the Government to step in and bail out a failing business. If they can't make cars people want to buy, let them fail. The markets will prevail. This has absolutely nothing to do with the economy.

Yeah but it was only a couple years ago that the UN set forth on a plan designed to do this exact socialist plan....worldwide.

UN Agenda 2030: A Recipe for Global Socialism

The Agenda

Perhaps the single most striking feature of Agenda 2030 is the practically undisguised roadmap to global socialism and corporatism/fascism, as countless analysts have pointed out. To begin with, consider the agenda’s Goal 10, which calls on the UN, national governments, and every person on Earth to “reduce inequality within and among countries.” To do that, the agreement continues, will “only be possible if wealth is shared and income inequality is addressed.”

As the UN document also makes clear, national socialism to “combat inequality” domestically is not enough — international socialism is needed to battle inequality even “among” countries. “By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources,” the document demands. In simpler terms, Western taxpayers should prepare to be fleeced so that their wealth can be redistributed internationally as their own economies are cut down to size by Big Government. Of course, as has been the case for generations, most of the wealth extracted from the productive sector will be redistributed to the UN and Third World regimes — not the victims of those regimes, impoverished largely through domestic socialist/totalitarian policies imposed by the same corrupt regimes to be propped up with more Western aid under Agenda 2030.

Wealth redistribution alone, however, will not be enough. Governments must also seize control of the means of production — either directly or through fascist-style mandates. “We commit to making fundamental changes in the way that our societies produce and consume goods and services,” the document states. It also says that “governments, international organizations, the business sector and other non-state actors and individuals must contribute to changing unsustainable consumption and production patterns … to move towards more sustainable patterns of consumption and production.”

Powerful Promoters

When Agenda 2030 was adopted at the 70th annual UN General Assembly confab in New York City on September 25, the UN plot to re-engineer civilization was ushered in with a “thunderous standing ovation,” the UN Department of Public Information reported. Every one of the 193 UN member governments on the planet — from murderous communist and Islamist dictatorships to those ruling what remains of the “Free World” — vowed to help impose the UN’s controversial goals on their subjects.

Among other “commitments,” China promised to spend $2 billion in foreign countries to meet the UN goals in “education” and “health,” with its funding increasing to $12 billion by 2030. While only contributing a small piece of the pie, the fact that Beijing is so excited about the agenda is quite revealing.

The Obama administration, which apparently does not plan to present the UN scheme to the U.S. Senate for ratification as required by the U.S. Constitution, also offered a forceful defense of the UN agenda. Speaking to the UN General Assembly on September 27, 2015, after purporting to commit the United States to the global plot, Obama claimed the UN blueprint “is one of the smartest investments we can make in our own future.”

Now back to the WINNIG part of this....

Although the Paris Climate Accord was never brought to the Senate for ratification it is important that it be rejected by President Trump. Agenda 21 was also not a treaty and was not brought before the Congress, except obliquely, but it was 'de facto' made binding by President Clinton who implemented it administratively and by federal pressure on the States. President Obama and Hillary Clinton had every intention of implementing the Paris Climate Accord through the usual channels: federal pressure, grants, regulations, restrictions, HUD/EPA/DOT grants and lawsuits, and bogus non-profits working the grassroots.

During President Trump's speech today he mentioned American sovereignty several times and referred to the Accord as a redistribution of wealth that favored other nations and debilitated American business. That it clearly does do so is apparent in the treatment of China and India as "developing countries" who are exempt from regulations and controls for years---years in which they will continue to grossly pollute while producing cheap goods for export to the United States.

I searched President Obama's speeches for mention of American sovereignty. I didn't find it. What I did find was his address to the United Nations General Assembly in the fall of 2016 stating that we in America 'must bind ourselves to international rules' and not fall prey to 'nationalism.'

By refusing to abide by the Paris Climate Accord President Trump is sending a message to those of us who have fought consistently against UN Agenda 21's message of globalization/One World Government.

GM hasn't officially said they are boarding up those plants. Only they are stopping them because they can't sell the cars they are making. If the UAW and tax laws remain fair as compared to the world and GM wants to invest in building another type of car/truck that it CAN sell, then those plants would be logical places to do it.

I would get mad if GM says they are moving jobs overseas or building a new plant in another state that gives them a better tax break when they have a functional plant in these locations, but that is not what is happening. This could be more short-term than the media is leading us on to believe (which of course fits the narrative they want to present).

I understand it's not a good headline. I don't quite understand why mid and small sized sedans are being so overproduced and under purchased (I'm going to buy one in the next 6 months). Maybe the market is just flooded (I'm pricing out maybe 8 different models that are all about the same). I know some people that really like their Chevy Cruzes. But that is CAPITALISM. Either these companies adapt or they die.

Hopefully, this is a step is ADAPTATION and not a step in dying and these plants will be used again in the future for something worthwhile.

Should have scrapped Buick, kept Pontiac and brought back a real Trans Am and GTO, not something with just decals on the paint.

"If I'm elected, you won't lose one plant, you'll have plants coming into this country, you're going to have jobs again, you won't lose one plant. I promise you. I promise you."

— Donald J. Trump

Oh Good Lord. And what was that quote about Tibs? It wasn't about losing a plant to economic failure or capitalist market forces, it was about losing plants to foreign manufacturing. He said he was going to re-establish manufacturing in this country by eliminating all of the burdensome regulations of prior administrations and he's done so. IF the companies then cannot make products people want to buy or their business model is a bad one, that is an entirely different discussion.

Stay on track.

More winning: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/po...l-election-runoff-between-hyde-smith-and-espy

I've been laughing for weeks about this. Dems poured money into Espy's campaign and the media had their panties wet in anticipation for a democratic win. They were going to have to stay up all night because the race was going to be soooo close... but this is the south. Espy got destroyed. Right now it's an 11 point win and the race was called after about 2 hours from the polls closing... could have been called much earlier because only liberals, morons or people that know nothing about MS could have possibly thought he had a chance. He never did.

hahahahaha

I am not really a fan of those red trees, but then again, I don't do Christmas trees at all. To each his own....

The media doesn't talk about this (and they should) but it's more than just going from 51-49 in the Senate to 53-47. The Republicans also got rid of Flake and McCain and Corker, all senators that loved to prance and preen in front of the camera during any close debate and try to make it about themselves (and all who have some degree of Presidential aspirations). Their behind the doors antics undermined the outsider Trump to get things done and I think all were jealous of him winning.

To me, it was more like gaining 4 seats in Senate, not two.

McConnell, Senate Republicans block vote on 'Mueller protection bill

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans blocked a vote on a bill to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Wednesday, despite a threat from a GOP Senator to hold up judicial nominees until action is taken on the measure.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...ns-block-vote-mueller-protection-bill-n941291

The bill is unconstitutional. The house can't pass a bill forcing the president not to fire someone the constitution says he can fire. It would be like the president stripping subpoena powers from congress. It's stupid and Flake knows it.
