The head coach search

Weaver will Interview for the Bills job too…

Alright, things just took a turn towards ridiculous. There's an article on another site where Baldinger is saying that he's heard the Steelers are really interested in Mario Cristobal. Ugh
I"m sure he's a good coach, but I came across these negatives about Cristobal. Does this sound like any other former Steelers coach we are familiar with? No thanks!

Arguments Against Good Game Management (Past)
  • Clock Management Issues: At Oregon, he faced criticism for poor clock management, particularly in late-game situations, costing them potential wins.
  • Conservative Play-Calling: Some felt his insistence on a "smashmouth" style led to squandering talent like Justin Herbert and poor decisions on 4th downs in key moments.
  • Losses as Favorites: Miami has lost games as double-digit favorites, adding to the narrative of flawed coaching.

He's not leaving Miami, it's his dream job. He went there, and his goal is to bring the program back to the glory days.

Yeah ... and that is 100% Cristobal's people trying to start up rumors because he supposedly is a steelers fan and wants to coach here... if they were interested, theyd have already called him

The Steelers will probably have their pick of any remaining candidates.

I get the feeling that Las Vegas wants and will eventually sign Klint Kubiak. They have the Brady factor.

No one seems to want the Arizona gig - dwelling for years in purgatory there.

The owner in Buffalo has shown himself to be a great school crossing guard by getting his employees to lie down in the middle of the road to protect his toy boy when buses come speeding in his general direction - so can see that as a prize position (not).

Thus, the choice comes down to the Mistake by the Lake carousel (complete with hair triggered ejector seat) and the "job for life" Steelers.

Who would you choose?

Hmmm...it is a hard question posed there, if I do say so myself.

Once everyone turns down the Browns dysfunctional show, Jon Gruden might at last have his chance to get back in the league. Except even he will probably turn it down. :D
The Browns are just gonna promote their DC... because he is there and willing...

No idea what the Raiders do... Nobody will take that job... especially Gruden... they are either gonna have to pay through the roof prices to lure someone in, or promote some ballboy or something...

Completely agree on Kubiak.

McDaniel (probably knew he wasn't getting the job), Minter (knew he was going to Baltimore) and Shula (Steelers, Raiders, Cardinals). Shula knows he's getting hired by one of those teams. Vegas has focused on offensive coaches, the Steelers have been linked to Shula for weeks, and everyone seems clueless about the Cardinals job. It's pretty easy to connect the dots--I'd be surprised if it's not Shula.

I suspect that A) no one wants to give up a draft pick or B) he’s let it be known that he doesn’t want to coach this year or C) both A and B.

He also could have forfeited his contract rights and Rooney accepted that, giving tomlin a free out.

I think the tomlin is taking a year off to address the baby mama incident and the affect on his family.

Rumor has aaa-Ron teaming up with the tomlin on a podcast to promote their brand of sports equipment…..

Salute the nation

And we can see that no team is willing to lose draft picks to aquire Tomlin. The nfl is smart.

What happened to “ he would have a job in 5 minutes” ????

“The Giants also checked in on one of John Harbaugh’s long-time AFC North rivals. Sources say a member of Giants ownership reached out to Mike Tomlin shortly after Tomlin stepped down as the Steelers’ head coach on Tuesday. Tomlin reiterated the same thing that he has told everybody else: he does not plan to coach in 2026.” - Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
So, you're saying Tomlin was the choice OVER Harbaugh???

Wait...

Ok now - BWAHAHAHA!!!🤣🤣🤣

Some guy named Berm stated this 2 days ago...

The Bills are a mess. It appears that their failed GM Brandon Beane got in the owner's ear and convinced him that all the bad picks were on McDermott. Particularly they brought up Keon Coleman on their presser, saying that was all McDermott. Then the internet do what it do and produced the Hard Knocks footage of Beane gushing over Coleman pre draft.

What coach wants to work for a weasel, Beane, who has the owner's ear? Yeah you get to coach Josh Allen but you also have a guy trying to stab you in the back at every turn.

Also, the Steelers have $46million in cap space for next season...Bills are $11million over.

Yes, the Bill‘s window might be open only a crack these days.
If I was a bills fan, my biggest concern would be Josh Allen’s bad foot.
We never think of Josh Allen as a running quarterback, and how losing that runningability changes the value of those types of players.
Josh Allen is somewhat in that category, although not as much as others, but still if he loses that ability even 50% of it, The dynamic of him certainly will be reduced.

You are right they should trade Allen to the Steelers when trades are permitted day 1.
