He started an undrafted CB for Haden cause"he had tremendous respect for his work ethic."

I think he is talking about Pierre... it doesn’t matter he was going to get 10 to 20 snaps regardless... kid played well last week and they are shorthanded on cb... wasn’t the big problem

I know. Justin Layne wasn’t the answer so he made a move. I had no problem with that one.

Did Pierre go in as an outside corner in some sub packages or did he start as wig said? Big difference.

Feiler starting over Dotson was also a disaster of a decision that was overshadowed by 5 turnovers by other people

This is the one I don’t get... Failure has been hot garbage at guard this season... I don’t get how you make that move... Vet preference? It was stupid

This, Feiler over Big Dot, very bad decision.

Doing something over and over again expecting different results is insanity.

Case in point all the rested players came back and played like dogshit. They moved Watt around after the OLBer injury so I will say him to a lesser degree but yeah....

That Wed. Ben off thing is ridiculous too.

He practiced on Wed. this week. It helped. Maybe he would have thrown 6 picks without the Wednesday practice.

No that was a combination of ****** scheme and behind in the game desperation.

Allowing the Browns to match up their #1 WR on our ILB that has been on IR and not in shape at all over and over again was just plain idiotic. That is something we've been seeing under Tomlin for the past decade, started with Timmons getting beaten over and over by Welker.

I thought not moving Feiler to RT and playing Dot was a mistake. Well likely lose Feiler in free agency ( Maybe big AL too ) so Doston's day will come not by Tomlin's coaching decisions, but by limited cap space and free agency.

All one needs to know about Tomlin's football acumen is s that despite establishing himself in the league as a DB coach, the Steelers have been terrible at drafting and developing DBs under him.

I'm not sure exactly what he does well, as leadership is supposed to be strength, yet his teams constantly start games uninspired and flat.

He threw a pick at 7-0, then at 14-0 and again at 21-0. He played like **** regardless of scheme, which certainly did suck. But those scores should not yet cause behind in the game desperation.

I guess I just disagree that getting rid of Tomlin cures everything. It will help, but the QB is limited.

we've played 10 seasons since out last Super Bowl appearance, we've won a playoff game in only two of those seasons, and suffered 3 of the most embarrassing playoff loses in team history. You need a coach that puts his players in the best possible position and can make on the fly adjustments. Cleveland with no in person meetings, only 1 practice last week, made some adjustments from the game last week. Tomlin did zero, allowed our out of shaped ILB coming off of IR to get matched up on Clevelands #1 WR over and over again. Just like SD did with Keenan Allen in 2018, just like NE always does to us. I don't think anyone is suggesting if Tomlin is gone we're magically Super Bowl contenders, but this is the same **** over and over.

I agree completely. It's awful. I am just saying if you bring in a new guy who would like to run a more modern offense, I don't think the QB can do it. I think the offense looks like it does because of the QBs limitations, along with the idiot coaching staff.

If Ben retires or is forced to retire, I won't argue with that. If we're going to look for a new franchise QB, then lets get a new culture here, a coach that's going to help our new QB. As big of a douche Harbaugh is, his team is always ready to play, and when they suck he fixes them, to go from one offense with Flacco, to a totally different mid season with Lamar. THeir defense got lit up by Cleveland a few weeks ago, looked horrible, yesterday they shut Tennesse, who can score a ton of points down in Tennessee.

There were pretty early parts of the game where you could clearly see they were in big trouble and they were rotating Wormley in. There were parts late when they clearly needed to pass and MacDonald was in. Just seemed like they wanted to lose.

Right.. replacing Tomlin isn’t a magic elixir. You have to get the replacement right, first and foremost. And you have to replace the QB. The bottom line is —
Ben is only “Ben” when he is aggressive taking shots downfield. But when he is aggressive taking shots downfield, he is already incredibly reckless with the football. He has thrown *28* playoff INTs guys.

1) move on from Tomlin and this entire staff
2) move on from Ben
3) Get their replacements right as well

Hire Bieniemy and trade up for Trey Lance in the draft

Can they trade up? I know it is after a bad loss, and I am trying to keep that in mind, by boy it seems like they have a lot of holes to fill. They have to rebuild the OL. They need a RB. The defensive line is overpaid for the results they give you. The corners are older. I hope it isn't as bad as it seems.

I like this IDEA but also would want a STRONG MINDED defensive coordinator to go along with this new HC hire.

PS

We are all pointing to replace HCMT but we all also know that will not happen until his contract expires, which i THINK is one more year.

The whole problem with hiring a new coach is what I said in another thread. If Colbert is down with making a real commitment then great. Otherwise, deal with that first. you need five year commitments. And if you hire GM, you shouldn't go coach first. Live at the bottom next year with Tomlin, no Ben and a new GM, then move on from Tomlin the yea rafter. There is always a good crop of coaches.
