The day I would have fired CMT.

No need to wait til Tuesday presser:

"We needed to," Tomlin. "You play today and you evaluate tomorrow. The game is not always going to go the way that you like. When you start measuring it in the midst of play, you do not have enough energy or gas to do what you suggested."

WTF?

and

"That is what I liked about it," Tomlin said. "Do I like how we played? Do I like our inability to stop the run? No. But I did love our mindset. Our mindset showed that we were game for the fight. We were not measuring it today; we were playing and playing to win. When you do those things, you have enough gas in the tank to finish it in the end."

Holy **** this is obtuse at a new level.

So done with this clown

My game was the playoff loss to Jacksonville.
When they lost in Cleveland by throwing 40 times in below zero wind chill when at the time the Browns had the league's worst run defense.
Arians literally said, "We don't let the weather dictate our game plan".

3rd and 1 from the 11 in crazy winds:

5 wide!!

We don't live in our fears. The standard is the standard.......................

All of you do yourselves a favor. Stop listening to Tomlin. Or any coach for that matter, but especially Tomlin. The guy has been at this so long he has a PhD in bullshiit.
Nobody is listening to anything he says, it's all a cliche. I watch what his teams do on the field and how he can't manage a game or make adjustments. It's been well over a decade; he is who his is. Mediocre Mike. That's the new Steelers standard. Sadly, a lot of folks are good with it.

Somebody is. Threads are dedicated to his cliches.

Nobody is good with it. People just have different levels of anger over it.

I was thinking about this a little more and laughing. I grew up with Chuck Noll. I don't think he ever had cliches. He got into coaching before they had the Cliches 101 class at coaching school. But Cowher, he had a few too. My favorite, and that is sarcasm, was when he would say about the season, "It's a marathon, not a sprint." Well, dammit, that didn't help my mood any if they lost. But what seemed to keep the anger lower with Cowher is you felt like there was always hope. You just don't feel much hope with Tomlin.

But Cowher was right about the marathon. And I think Tomlin's approach has some of that to it. But a new coach like Glenn has to come out hot. He can't have that marathon mindset. Remember, Cowher went 3-0 his first season and so did Tomlin. And I think that is a lot of what we saw on Sunday...a new coach needing to come out hot and an experienced coach knowing it really is a marathon.

You nailed it with the Cowher’s teams, there was always HOPE and belief of turnaround.

With Captain clown-shades,……….. hope is just a wildcard win…….. for eight years and only to be given another Groundhog Day.

Add in the Tomlinships consolation prize combined with the cliches and eye test on the field…….. well, you get it !!

Salute the nation

He is harder to mock if you don’t take in the fuel he passes out so frequently.

At this point him bringing the gas for fans to throw on the fire is one of his very few redeeming qualities.

Yes many speak in mockery using his cliches as a coping mechanism for knowing that against all solid reasoning he will remain cuz Art Nutting is “just glad he’s our coach”

Sunday would’ve been the day
Definitely Sunday

But now that it’s Tuesday…yup, Tuesday would be that day.

Any day that ends in “y” would be a great day to do it since ownership missed the last best 1000 or more chances to do it

Let Arthur take over, it’s not like we need Mike’s greasy fingerprints on that D to keep that level of historic specialness going.
