The Coronavirus thread

This **** has gone on long enough. People are scared to go outside, afraid to go to the damn doctor, snitching on each other, the small business loan program is about of money, and about the fastest they can get more cash to those that need it is May 22. That’s five weeks. **** has to end. This, along with the Dems latest free money giveaway will be the end of this country. It’s like they are trying to ruin people. There is trouble coming. I only hope that the victims of that trouble are the ones that put people in this position, even though I know better.

Funny thing though. The banks and airlines got their money already.

I want the numbers of the people that die from blood sugar issues, heart attacks, strokes...etc because they were told not to go to the ER's because they would contract Covid-19.

Oh, wait, they do. Tlaib, Omar, and the rest of those ******** have hated America for their entire lives. They want America destroyed as much as they want Israel destroyed. They believe our nation - the greatest success story in the history of the planet in terms of governance, success, and protection of rights - is at its core evil. Nobody who thinks a nation is evil wants to help that nation, and instead is intent on tearing it down.

Tlaib misuses campaign funds, lies about her residence to get elected to Congress, cheats on her taxes, calls every criticism "racist" because she hates, hates, HATES America. She doesn't care about the rules. **** the rules, and the stupid lemmings who follow them. You know, those idiots in flyover country.

Omar's hatred of our nation is appalling. Disgusting. Nauseating. AOC is too dumb to realize the harm she is doing, Pressley too stupid to care. **** them all as they do everything possible, invoke every possible lie and scam to hurt America.

A coronavirus field hospital that was quickly constructed by the U.S. military in Seattle last month is being dismantled after failing to receive a single patent. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced he had consulted with national health authorities to return the hospital to FEMA so it can be relocated to a spot where it might be needed.

Inslee also issued a warning that the removal of the hospital did not signal that the danger posed by the coronavirus has subsided. “Don’t let this decision give you the impression that we are out of the woods. We have to keep our guard up and continue to stay home unless conducting essential activities to keep everyone healthy," Inslee said in a statement.

I live in MoCo MD, upscale, uber Liberal. A guy I've known for years - Liberal to middle leaning, down to earth - got tangled up in a thread I posted on Facebook. He and the Ogre were threatening each other and so was a Marine friend of mine. Over the use of the word Kung Flu. This guy coached my son in football and basketball for years, so we cross paths frequently at the high school and such. Anyway, he said he thinks Kung Flu is racist and he wouldn't say it to his Chinese friends. Blah blah.

The marine guy, who's now putting himself through med school, is a descendant of 1st generation Cubans, and is Conservative, sends my friends comments to his very good Chinese friend. Chinese dude replies to him in Messenger and says "Haha, White people man. Most sensitive on the planet haha. Tell that fool to STFU and mind his own biz."

The same people that will rail against political correctness (he's one of them) don't realize they are simultaneously enforcing and supporting political correctness.

It's a big march. Whitmer's **** the bed up there though so she's angered a lot of her residents adding some more heat to that fire. We are going to see it spread. My fear is at some point, it's gonna get a little violent somewhere. You saw what happened when the 19 year old died in a police chase in Brussels. How will we handle the first shots fired?

True. But the ER staff are probably not missing the hangnails and runny noses that should never be in the ER to begin with.

Don't disagree, I have always said that Hospitals and ER departments should be able to turn people away for using the ER as a PCP or Non-Emergency related issues. Hospitals would reduce their bad debt by outrageous amounts since a good percentage of the people that go to the ER for non-emergency treatment usually do so because of lack of insurance. What are the odds those individuals actually pay their medical bills?

Those who use it as regular medical care do so because they wont turn them away even if they owe. Of course they aren't paying those bills they are outrageous. My son recently sliced his toe to the bone at college and the swim trainer took him to the ER. Cleaned it gave him a bag of antibiotic IV and x rays. We got 5 separate bills and with deductible which we did not know we had on ER visits(it had just changed) It is costing us $1000 for that the original bill was $3000 for an hour and a half of care and no stiches.

In Los Angeles, illegals almost universally have no medical insurance and use the ER as the PCP. Law requires the hospital ER's to care for them.

So hospitals, not being completely stupid, do one of two things: (1) pass the cost on to their paying clients (like me), or (2) shut down the ER. Los Angeles saw closures of dozens of emergency rooms because the hospitals simply could not afford to keep providing "free" care to illegals.

Overburdened by the uninsured and overwhelmed by illegal immigration (search), public health care in Los Angeles is on life support.

Sixty percent of the county's uninsured patients are not U.S. citizens. More than half are here illegally. About 2 million undocumented aliens in Los Angeles County alone are crowding emergency rooms because they can't afford to see a doctor.

Next time, just have your son say he is an illegal and has no insurance.
 
Some anecdotal evidence from Arizona, although I am confident in my source. My daughter works in a heart hospital in Phoenix, the go to place when cardiac care is needed, but only about a 50 bed facility. They did have some corona patients early on because they had the ICU bed space available, however currently there are none, and because elective surgery is on hiatus, they are now running at less than 40% capacity.

Guess what happens when a business is running at 40%..... yep the staff is cut by 60%. She has friends working in the Banner system in town and they are running at less than 50% capacity as well, and Banner is huge here.

This is never mentioned on the nightly news as they are too busy with the daily death count.

The politics and fear mongering need to stop. Lets get rolling again while there's still some life left in the economy.

Zona is 100% spot on. The crisis that never was is hammering the health care industry. Yes, two hospitals in NYC are overwhelmed. Got it.

99.99% of the nation is not New York city. Zona and Charlie provide two versions of the same thing - the hospital-will-be-overwhelmed panic never came to pass, and more and more seems like it was never going to happen. Meanwhile, the doctors and nurses we need every day for, oh, irrelevant things like hypertension care, diabetic care, orthopedic surgery so we can move around without pain, heart disease care, Crohn's disease, and on and on are not making any money. The facilities they work at are not making any money. The clinics are suffering and face significant financial harm. The doctors and nurses not in NYC are not overwhelmed.

Time to get back to work, and ban any more ****** Chinese products from entering our markets.

excella health in greensburg at least is running at 50% capacity. My nursing home is currently bed locked because any new admissions or dialysis patients cant have a roommate and we are basically full now.
