Or had "if the **** ever hits the fan weapons " many many years ago. It hasn't hit the fan just yet,but let food run out and it's on.

We had another month tacked on a few days ago to this shelter at home nonsense in Florida. Just block off south Florida and we're good.

I'm sheltering at work 7 days a week and by judging traffic coming home many others are as well. I got no problem being anti social. I sit outside when i eat and don't get within 10 feet of anyone the entire day.

It appears people are giving zero ***** about the speed limit right now. Everyone is rolling 80-90 in a 65..haha. I had state and local police passing me like nothing when i was rolling at 75. It was around 5am though.

I don't have a problem with that if done correctly. If all the symptoms fit and they have eliminated through testing other possible causes it is statistically justified. But at the same time the same thing goes for total cases. I know that the death toll is higher than what is being presented but so is the total of cases might an even larger margin. Meaning even adding these deaths when they finally do a scientific estimate of the total spread as they do with all diseases the mortality rate will still fall well below the 4.2% it is now and be around .4 is my guess. We have definitely not been able to test enough to catch anywhere near all the deaths or total cases. This is not a doom and gloom or alarmist post either it just makes common sense based on the ease of spread. We will still be less than 100,000 here when all said and one probably under 65,000.
So, like the flu, but less dangerous than other typical causes of death for the population.

My take on this at this point, it will have been the right moves to take based on what I am seeing BUT it is time to do what Trump is saying and work on getting things moving by early May. Thankfully he is doing the planning now despite the screams from the left and will be ready when it is time. Rather than waiting until then to figure out how to do it as the dumbasses in Congress would do. Ohio has a similar committee working on its start up plan. We have to get open but we do have to do it right. I love what i se from Trump so far in planning.
So you are understanding that the economic damage is worse than the damn flu/disease.

Here is a prediction......

This is reset for us. This is a moment reflection. A time to assess who your friends are.

So you are understanding that the economic damage is worse than the damn flu/disease.

That is a leading question. I think it could be if not handled correctly. I absolutely believe the right thing was done based on the evidence we had and have. I also believe that based on that same evidence the time is coming quickly to start planning and enacting the next phase which is opening whatever we can wherever we can with the right protections as needed. We obviously have mitigated or slowed the spread and as long as we can keep from having a spike or we have the right treatments in place we can start to move forward. This whole thing is a tricky balance Looking at it politically, economically, scientifically and psychologically. To many aren’t looking at all the evidence on both sides and trying to find the right balance in between. Everything has become black or white, right or wrong and that isn’t how the world works. It is shades of gray. Neither side has a monopoly on the truth. The pendulum must find equilibrium between the opposing forces. Yes the solution could become the problem but the problem could have been worse than the solution if not handled right. The tipping point is coming soon but unlike Tim and some others I think we will find it and avert it becoming what you fear. I have to hope for that the alternatives either way suck. We will get their by cooperation with the opposing views not by endlessly tearing down the opposition that you need to be working with. Hell that is the same problems we face in Government dealing with all of our issues. To much partisanship and anger not enough cooperation and understanding of both sides of an issue.

I believe, I think, I believe and a lot of politician speak. Are you running for office? Sounds like a political speech a candidate makes that offers literally no substance.

We will bounce back!

You are the biggest cheerleader for a shut down, as noted. Have a moment of thought for those who are being or will be crushed by this over reaction and those who will suffer and die from the cure. If calling out bullshit makes me a jackass, I'll wear the label.

As has been said, wait till people get hungry. Everything changes. You're dead on.

And it’s coming. Farmers are having throw away milk, euthanize animals that they can’t get to market and can’t afford to keep feeding them. Vegetables are rotting on the vine. Meat processing plants are shutting down, either over illness or protest and walkouts. Who are these politicians gonna blame then? They can’t be so blind as to not see the second and third order effects this is having and going to have.

Ah, those scientists and their models - Here is a snippet from the article. There are more charts.
We shut the entire country down using the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) models, and in doing so put 17 million (and counting) Americans out of work, shattered 17 million (and counting) lives, and… Well, take a look for yourself below.
Unites-States.png

Well, remember, the whole reason for shutting down the economy was to ensure our healthcare system was not overloaded. And it should be noted that these expert models are based on full mitigation, based on what did indeed happen, which was basically a full shutdown of the economy by way of a lockdown. And these models are still horribly, terribly wrong.

This, however, is not an argument about whether we should or should not have shut the country down, or only part of the country down. I have plenty of thoughts on that particular subject, but we’ll leave that for another time. What I want to focus is what is not arguable, and what is not arguable is that we shut the country down based on wildly flawed models.

The article goes on to comment on similarities to climate change models, which everyone should know are a joke. My observation is that whenever an apocalyptic model can be created to alter policies and behavior, it is provided. The pace of reality just caught up with the virus modelers. The "actual" line on a global warming model chart, if we could accelerate the next 50 years or so and build it, would be a flat line.

A quick google of some of the papers coming out of this IHME mob had climate change as a component to the disease spread models they were "researching". Talk about garbage in garbage out. Bunch of hacks, and we shut down the economy based on their crap. Feels very much like the global warming scam.

Sarge is right...

“It is impossible to keep our grocery stores stocked if our plants are not running," Sullivan said. "These facility closures will also have severe, perhaps disastrous, repercussions for many in the supply chain, first and foremost our nation’s livestock farmers. These farmers have nowhere to send their animals.”

and - related to the same meat processing plant closing through a different news source, this would be interesting, but we know the Chinese would never and could never be nefarious...

On Sunday, Smithfield Farms, one of the nation's largest pork producers, announced it was closing one of its meat processing plants in South Dakota. But it wasn't just any plant. This particular plant in Sioux Falls is responsible for 4-5% of all U.S. pork production (according to figures provided by the company). It will be closed for at least two weeks.

The closure comes after at least 300 of the facility's 3,700 employees tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The Virginia-based company is owned by China's WH Group, which is the world's largest pork producer, supplying meat for brands like Smithfield and Nathan's Famous.

if only there was something that could be done to maybe prevent the spread of corona - something like maybe wearing a ******* mask?

Other plants have shut their doors, at least temporarily, according to Reuters. They include:

A JBS USA plant in Greeley, Colorado that is responsible for five percent of the U.S. daily beef slaughter, which said Monday it would close until April 24.
A Tyson Foods hog slaughterhouse in Columbus Junction, Iowa that said Monday it would extend an April 6 closure for another week.
A National Beef Packing Co. plant in Tama, Iowa that suspended cattle slaughtering until the week of April 20.
An Olymel pork plant in Yamachiche, Quebec, that closed for two weeks starting March 29.
A Maple Leaf Foods poultry plant in Brampton, Ontario that suspended production April 8.

Well you are a jack *** Tim as once again you totally ignore the substance of what was said. At least I am not a dogmatic *** who claims I am right on everything. You have zero reading comprehension or ability to look past your narrow view of the world. Welcome to being as stubborn and obtuse as Elfie. You have zero regard for anyone else’s opinions except your own and your cheerleaders, you can’t stand to have a dissenting opinion and drown it out in condescension and vitriol.

How dare you accuse me not having a thought for peoples suffering. You sound just like those who put false attacks on Trump because they dislike him but have no real clue what he has actually said. Quit twisting my words and missing the point.

Americans would receive $2,000 a month under House Democrats’ plan

https://www.wfla.com/news/coronavir...-llD3lgi2Eutcg58K8Ht9FBXDPzFAUvcvwlmBLchRLJvY

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Two House Democrats say Americans should get more money during the coronavirus pandemic.

Legislation filed this week by Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif. would give $2,000 a month to Americans over the age of 16 who make less than $130,000 a year until the economy recovers.

The bill comes as millions of Americans are set to receive stimulus checks this week as part of the $2.2 trillion economic stimulus package.

“A one-time, twelve hundred dollar check isn’t going to cut it,” said Khanna in a statement. “Americans need sustained cash infusions for the duration of this crisis in order to come out on the other side alive, healthy, and ready to get back to work.”

Under the bill, those over the age of 16 who make less than $130,000 a year would receive $2000 monthly payments for at least six months. Married couples earning less than $260,000 would receive $4,000 per month. Families with children would get $500 per child per month for up to three children.

People who are unemployed would also be eligible to receive payments.

The bill would also pay millions more Americans such as college students and adults with disabilities who are still claimed as a dependent. They would receive the payment and their parent or guardian will receive the dependent credit.

Individuals would get the money through direct deposit, check, pre-paid debit card, or mobile money platforms such as Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal, according to the press release.

“As millions of Americans file for unemployment week over week, we have to work quickly to patch the dam — and that means putting cash in the hands of hard-working families,” Ryan said in a press release.

Had to go to grocery store today. I’ve been going to my local mom and pop to help support them. Prices are always higher but I prefer it over big box store.

But this time I wanted a 6er so box store it was. Omg. ******* tape everywhere. Directional arrows, I kept going the wrong way and laughing my *** off the whole time. But the people is what got me. I don’t wear a mask. ...Several do, whatever. So the “looks” you get from some for being to close, for o he looks sick, nah ***** I’m hung over from all this drinking. People won’t trust people anymore. A sneeze and your black listed and tossed out. ****, did people wear full bio suites in the 80s during the aids epidemic? Nah they just kept *******.

Some examples of your double speak Tim. You claim deaths are wildly over-reported yet in another post you then claim because it suits your argument, that deaths are the most accurate thing being reported because we have the dead bodies. Well which is it.

You make a big claim that this is not likely to be caught by anything but what was it 2 tenths of a percent yet you also argue the mortality rate is actually much lower(which it is) because many more people have this than they have diagnosed, it can’t be both.

You have consistently used totally opposing arguments at the same time. Yet when someone actually agrees with you on something you miss the entire point and attack and then double down on that attack multiple times even after it has been pointed out that you have it backwards and that person(me) was in fact agreeing with your position(that the mortality rate is in fact lower than the number reported).

Yep, go back and re-read that paragraph I quoted. You quite literally said nothing.
