The aftermath: what the talking heads are saying.

Now that we've had 24 hours or so to digest this game, what I am hearing from the talking heads (TV, radio and online) can be summed up as so:

1.) The Steelers cane out uninspired, unfocused, and seemed to be sleep walking. Tomlin made note that the team didn't seem to realize the urgency of the moment, but he failed to seemingly realize that it was HIS JOB to make sure they understood it was time for maximum focus and urgency. He seems aloof, as if the lack of focus and urgency was like flipping a coin and you just hope for results, not like a head coach who had to keep the team focused and not relying on chance.

2.) The team came out with some motivation in the 2nd half, but it was already too late: Ravens had built momentum and it proved too much for a 2nd half effort to overcome.

3.) Unlike the rest of the season, Ben seemed distracted and standoffish on the sidelines. He would sit by himself, and not speak to teammates or coaches. It was if he was disinterested or like he knew the outcome would be a loss, as if he knew it from the start of the game.

My theories are this: Ben was either paid off and he knew they were being outcoached and got discouraged. IDK.

I'm talking about everyone as a whole. If you're a steeler player and you can't motivate yourself to beat the Ravens you shouldn't be playing the game. I wouldn't consider myself a Tomlin hater or lover. At the end of the day the other team just seemed to want it more. I don't put that on Tomlin alone, I put that on everyone

To me that is still on everyone. You're playing in the National Football League and a professional football player you should be motivated to get the job done every week.

Point taken though it is also on Tomlin and the coaching staff. And Tomlin deserves the criticism that comes with that, no argument from me on that.

It wasn't too late the week before vs. Denver, down 27-13 at the half. Steelers came out with motivation then, too. Broncos had built up some damn good momentum, too. The difference? We've discussed it ad nauseam here... it comes down to Ben's 2 picks and the whole team being lethargic, (expect for DeAngelo).

Hard to say... He could have had a bad holiday for several reasons.. Martial troubles, stress, tired, hungover etc etc.. Definitely seemed distracted for whatever reason

Yes, for Heaven's sake, Belicheck has made coaching gaffes, too. But when your game planning, on-field decisions, and player development are correct 95% of the time, you'll be forgiven the time here and the time there that you make a mistake.

But when your poor decision making, bad clock management, inability to develop players, and inability to sense when a team might need a kick in the *** becomes common place, THAT is a pattern that should, at the very least, make you examine just what the hell is going on in the locker room. This has become such a pattern that there were many here, well before this game, that were worried that the pattern, letting down for a badly outmatched opponent, was going to repeat.

Keeping with the theme of this post: can you imagine a Patriots fan worried that they would lose to a four win team while in the middle of a playoff hunt? The fact that we can speaks VOLUMES.

Dude,..........I wanted to rip you a new one by reminding you of the "CHEATING" those asshats have been doing. So they aren't really a relyable source to compare against. I get your drift of what you are saying, but you could have used a more honest team, in comparison.
