He needs read option QBs. Tebow knows that from college.

I saw something on my Bleacher Report app that Eagles QB Matt Barkley may be available for trade, I'd easily and quickly hand them Landry Jones for Barkley

I'm no Landry Jones fan, but i'd rather him over Barkley. Barkley is small and has no arm. Landry at least has the physical tools to be a starter.

I wouldn't say 6'2 is small, but regarding his arm I don't think Landry has shown any type of strong arm. Where I like Barkley over Landry is accuracy and anticipation which Barkley showed in college in a pro style offense, while Jones played in a spread and was inconsistent with his accuracy let alone anticipation. I'd personally rather have the consistently accurate passer from 20-40yds then the guy who is inconsistent in accuracy but can launch the football deep (Kyle Boller?). This is all my opinion btw, I liked Barkley as a late round developmental guy coming out far more than I did LJ, but it is what it is and LJ will most likely remain and it most likely will not be the Steelers who trade for Barkley if the Eagles trade him.

Why does the "Hit me I'm open" scene from the movie The Longest Yard, come to mind..

I'd take Tebow over Landry Jones. Does Tebow have upside? Not really, but he's a good team guy, and can win if called upon.

if you think about it, Tebow is a perfect fit for the Eagles. The knock on Chip Kelly's system is that the QB has to run and will get killed over time...well, that's probably not going to happen with Tebow. Dude is a LB playing QB. Also, Kelly is probably just looking at a package for Tebow (short yardage, etc.)

and you can just keep drafting a running style QB every 2-3 years after the last one gets killed and never have to pay a huge QB contract.

you're saying nothing.
i'd put ark in there instead of landry

As much as I think Tebow sucks, I would still rather have him than Landry Jones.

I'd take Tebow for the Steelers in a heartbeat if he'd play TE and be the 3rd string QB. Problem is he only wants to play QB.

Please sign him. I need the laughs.

Good. I still wish this kid success, if for no other reason than to simply stick a thumb in the eye of Godless liberals.
Football, politics and religion all in one neat little post.

Come on Ron, the kid had no problem playing safety on the punt team for the Jets, Rex just made sure he'd never throw the ball. He's a team player, and will do what he's asked to do.

I believe there is still upside to Tebow. The kid has been working on his mechanics for the past 2 years, and I hope he competes at the FA Combine if he's not picked up before then. If nothing else, it would lend a credible name to the combine and garner interest.

I'm still dumbfounded that a proven winner at QB can get railroaded out of the game while being a model person.

The next-to-last time he set foot on an NFL field as a QB he threw for over 300 yards against the hallowed Dick LeBeau defense and beat us in a playoff game. His mechanics were already pretty good against Ike and Troy. Just sayin'.

I'm glad to see him get another chance as well. I would have rather had him than Laundry Jones. The kid had the right attitude and could likely have been taught to do what was needed. He seems like a much better choice than Johnny Football.
