Talking heads keep saying the Steelers have nothing to play for

They ****** up. Mathews and Hargrave shouldn't have played.

So you would have gone in with just 3 Dlinemen? Someone had to play. It is unfortunate what happen but you only have so many players.

They had to play someone. Mathews tweeked his ankle again. They were down to their last DL I believe.

True. And by nature, in football injuries happen. As a fan, stuff like this is outside of our control. I like the message sent that these guys need to compete. I trust the coaching staff to have a DLine in effect come next week.

Some people are playing for 1) their job or position next year or 2) their next FA contract (Landry  )

I like the way our team fought to the very end. They never quit.

Our guys didn't give up. They coasted at times but never gave up.

Salute the nation

Not sure how you could protect more than what they did. 53 man roster, can make 7 inactive.

Start with Green and Tuitt, then give Ben, Bell, Brown, Pouncey and Harrison.

Who would you have switched?

Coolie has been promoting Ayers all season. The kid is stepping up. He is a lot faster than indicated

Ghost knows all about Ayers, he saw him plenty at UH also...

Both were banged up. They would have been active, I just wouldn't have started them.

We've been telling yinz that!

We watched him at the University of Houston for three years. He was money last year - something like 90 catches - and was one of the most exciting players in the country.

It's no fluke. The guy can play.

I'll be disappointed if he isn't on the gameday roster next weekend.

(Note: I'm a "rookie"...even though I was a board regular going back to the Scoredell days?. Guess it's a DeNiro "The Intern" thing).

Right now, I'd have to make Coates inactive, the way the other receivers are playing.

You do sound more like Coach with every post.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Sorry if I offended you but yesterday's game had me climbing the walls. Hate to see us flounder against the Stains even when we are playing our backups. . Have a good day ol buddy.

unless he was blowing it up in practice

yep

I would start Rogers and Antonio and start Hamilton, but sprinkle in Ayers...

But we need Green to earn that contract Sunday...

Coates had been catching the ball great in practice for weeks.

Nice! Is Frenchy a UH guy too? Thanks for Ayers. I'm excited for him

I'm part Cougar - and part Duquesne Duker - and was a sports writer in H-town for a long time.

But Mrs. Ghost is 100 percent Cougar (OK, you know what I mean) and is the real force behind our fandom.

She went to town on the "Coogs House" Facebook page when Demarcus rang up his first pro TD.
