Ol girls mom which I consider my mom is in the hospital for toxic colitis and concern for infection. Her WBCs are high and she had/has some bleeding. She just finished her last chemo (hopefully) radiation finished as well for lung cancer. Chemo has some powerful side effects. We are rotating 4 of us in shifts to the hospital so today I get the earlier shift that will have me home before the game starts. Good time to post this as everyone is asleep, so I don't have to be just girlish on the inside I can throw some stress tears and wipe them clean before anyone wakes up. Most of her hair has fallen out and with the trip to the hospital she said she felt defeated. We don't know the outcome but it got to me her frame of mind. Of course we all reassured her that it was just a temporary setback. She has been the mother that a few weren't. (was adopted from Germany)

Anyways,

hopefully today's outcome is a positive one. It also will be worth keeping an eye on Houston if they pull any starters. Hopefully they just focus in on winning.

You want to win in life. You want to beat your fight. Games... cancer, whatever the opponent is.

It is why we play the game, it is the point. We don't play to lose that is a losers mentality. Our team didn't win six SBs with a losers mentality.

All those families that relocated from Pittsburgh didn't watch the Steelers because they had a losers mentality. They watched because the Steelers brought them hope. A ray of sunshine in hard times.

So Steelers if it is the last game of the year, or maybe it isn't the finale.

Either way......

just win.
 
I'd like to see Duck &h^# on the Ravens, but to win a game like this requires mistake free type of football, good coaching and good special teams play. Have we seen that lately?

The Ravens usually have better coaching and special teams play when the Steelers play them.

Houston is resting key guys in their game vs. Tennessee.

While this is a winnable game, the Steelers have blown winnable games lately. Duck's 15 minutes were up last week.

Tennessee probably would have beaten Houston even if they didn't rest any starters. Tennessee is playing well right now and they rested Henry last week. He'll put up 150+ rushing on Houston no matter who is in the game.

Houston just beat them a few weeks ago. Not so sure they couldn't beat them with all their starters in there again.
 
We need to win first and with Tomlin and Fichtner already stating they will be playing in their fears, that will be the toughest of the two nuts to crack. They have already said they will severely limit Duck and that there is pretty much no chance Lynch gets in the game unless Duck goes down. I saw one bold prediction that our D scores two TD's and that is probably what it will take to win. Our running game sucks and if we're not going to pass much, we will be lucky to score 10 on offense. Let's hope Tomlin and Fichtner were both lying in their interviews this week.
 
Waiting to back into the playoffs as usual but realistically even if we get in we are not winning a playoff game with a bunch of backups on offense.
 
Wonder if JuJu is better than the 75% (at best) he was last week. We need him at 90%+. And, I wonder if they are going to keep putting Holton on the field as a No. 2 or No. 3 WR at times. Dude should be the last WR to sniff the field. Special teams gunner is all he is good at.

I said lie because they have both said Duck will be severely limited in throwing the ball. With how bad our running game is, we have to throw to have a chance. Duck also needs to go back to when he was winning and run the ball about 5 times or so to keep the D honest.
 
Duck might be playing for a roster spot next year today, if he stinks it up again they might decide to use the QB3 slot on another project

Realistically the season was over at halftime of Week 2.
