STEELERS VS BUNGHOLES

Just want to make sure you watched the game. The Steelers punted 2 times, the Bengals 3 times. Our offensive limitations scored 31 points, 396 yards, 7 for 10 on third downs, averaged 7.3 Y/A passing, and 7.4 YPC on the ground. A terrible throw by Rodgers and a weak effort to bring down a ball by DK leading to two INTs was about the only thing that stopped the offense tonight.
And how many times did he force the ball to DK in 2 high? One resulting in DK losing the ball...that's what happens when you are limited and you lean too hard on one guy.

Freiermuths stats vs Taylors bengals are fantastic. He should have been option A here, not an afterthought when behind
Might have won if they did go to 88 early. Maybe they will use him against Green Bay...then again that would be too sensible. At least they have 10 days to fix the defense. Maybe they can trade for a cornerback this week because that was a woeful performance tonight.

And the other where he threw the ball into that same double coverage resulting in a pick. Rodgers doesnt hardly do that..you can tell he felt like he had to force it. And Austin returning won't change much. We need a legit bookend opposite DK.

This is a dumb football team because of Tomlin. Rodgers couldn't cover it up tonight.

Look back over the past 5 years... or since Tom Bradley left the team when we had 3 cbs ranked in the top 30 in the nfl... which is more likely.... every CB we have signed and drafted suddenly couldnt play The position well here? Or our DB scheme is hot dogshit? Bear in mind that Austin was fired from Cinci because his coverage schemes were completely useless in practice... and that Tomlin often runs the same zone concepts in crunch time people used 25 years ago...

A 2wr wont do ****... we hardly use a 2wr on the field. We are running 3te sets with an olineman as the third TE... jonnu Smith is the 2wr... if we trade for a big name he is gonna get like 3 targets a game...

When we need to move the ball, we do. The talebt or scheme isnt the problem right now... its that we dont try to score points till we have to... we are dolts

And if the defense plays average they win by 14 points.
Agreed, but defense is at a disadvantage in the NFL. No matter who you get on D at some point you are not going to match up well against somebody and the offense is going to move the ball if they have the players to do so. You're best bet is to have offensive weapons. Look at what an average but experienced Flacco just did with Higgins and Chase.

Is Tomlin going to rub a genie out of his lamp next week?
Nope. We will beat the Packers. I knew we would lose this one. The fact we almost won was a pleasant surprise. We just don’t win road Thursday night divisional games. Hell the league road team loses over 60%.

Actually the defense not stopping the run or pass all night was the difference. The offense put up 31 points. That should win you most games.

The two ints may as well have been punts. Though one wasn't on Rodgers.
Why can’t both be right? Obviously the D **** the bed tonight.

Why were both interceptions “ may as well be punts?

The first int was on first down from our 30 yard line with 4:32 to go. Didn’t know we punted on first down now.
Second int was on the Cincinnati 44 yard line on second down with just under a minute to go. Didn’t know we were punting on second down either. They were driving for points.
Of course TO’s made a difference as well. Cincinnati had zero.

I’ll have to look up your score in the prediction thread. 😉

I don’t do that thread. Superstitious. You can ask my soon to be son in law Bengals fan. I told him before the season I thought we would lose this game. I know the stats on these things. They came close than I thought by far honestly. That and they were getting way too much praise. Tomlin is a better motivator as the underdog.

Tomlin has been given what? 17 seasons now since winning his last SB? Noll won 4 of them and only got 12 seasons after his last one.

Tonight could have been Mike Glennon, Ryan Mallett or Blake Bortles from yesteryear. Enough is enough.

If you're Rooney and won't part with this defensive boob, then at least hire someone to run the defense for him and mandate Tomlin go back to CEO with the D.

You forgot Tim Tebow.

After the game Chase said the Steelers did exactly what they were expecting and hoping they would do. We played ourselves right into a bad team’s strengths.

Yeah but while the refs are utter crap, they still arent as ****** as the D tonight
Bungles entered the game with by far the league's worst rushing offense but one game against the Steelers fixed that.

And look at what Rodger’s just did with our guys. It’s not the story because the defense failed, the same defense that made Justin Fields—who just had a historically awful game—look like an All Pro.

The guy who doesn’t “live in his fears” showed why he does with the Flacco comments earlier this week. He’s scared of him and didn’t want to play against him. Barry was smart. He got trade value in another losing season and ****** the Steelers at same time.

This was the Browns biggest win of the season so far AND possibly the best QB move in Browns franchise history…

And there is the scared *** ***** Pittsburgh Steeler “leader” pissing down his leg cuz he’s gotta face geriatric Flacco after being on the team for 10 days and knowing about 30% of the offense.

Its the scheme and the technique. Tomlin spent all game ensuring Chase didnt get open deep on the outside... they just let them have the inside stuff...

But our DLine doesnt control gaps.. they " stop the run on the way to the QB"
And like many Tomlin teams, thet try to violently hit the player down, or strip the ball, not just tackle him.... so tons of missed tackles
