Thought it would be a good idea to throw this thread up for small updates. When you see one feel free to throw it in here.

Through 7 Shots and first Team scrimmage today, the beast is JuJu, and impressive showings by OLB Ola, WR Spencer and QB Rudolph.

2. Chris Boswell began the long climb back by going 8-for-8 on short field goals from various distances (Matthew Wright also 8-for-8). These weren’t the pressure kicks Mike Tomlin insisted would be coming at the outset of camp. But it was at least a start for Boswell.

Like to hear stuff like this!

3. WR Diontae Johnson said he’s in much better shape than this spring, when 8 pre-draft visits contributed to inconsistent workouts, hamstring issues. Ben raved about Johnson’s conditioning test. Johnson: “I’ll be able to run all day and make plays. I’m not going to be tired.”

It's still very early, but just like summer OTAs/minicamp, the best Steelers WR named Dionate thru 2 camp practices is CFL star Spencer, not 3rd-rd pick Johnson. Easily.

Not worried about Johnson he was bouncing back from some minor injuries and his conditioning is looking really good per reports. But Spencer is a name to continue looking at....

Kameron Kelley picks off a bad Josh Dobbs pass. Ball didn’t look good coming out of his hand. No pass rush, though, since it is 7 on 7 #Steelers #dkps

Dobbs seems to be struggling this camp

Daniel McCullers with a good day today. Clogged run lanes, got hand in lane of one throw to create incompletion. Winston Craig stood out in limited reps. At Garrett Brumfield's expense. Looked like a tough day for him. #Steelers

Oaktree throwing some shade !

Steven Nelson one of several DBs on the JUGs machine before practice. #Steelers

I wish every Steelers corner/S and WR/TE/RB would do this before of after practice...............

Looks like Ben and Moncrief will be hooking up a ton this season.

They do, it's a big change this year to have the DBs on the JUGGS machines though. I like it!

Yeah, heard it was Teryl Austin making it so. Good on you coach!

Rudolph with two TDs to Diontae Johnson. Offense wins 4-3. #Steelers

Love to hear that.

As simple as this is, with or with out the CBA, I'd be doing it my entire career if I was in the mix. How did any of the DBs ever go with out doing this in the past. I realize some may have done it some but wouldn't COACHING be reminding these guys about "FREE" Juggs machine usage if they so decide to use them??

It is a mixed bag though. Burns has had some positive plays too..........................

I hear yaz slash and I'm sure the coaching staff is working him hard to try and bring out is potential and confidence. Either he WoWs or he don't which translates to make it or not to the 53. Artie knows that as well and I bet he it pushing hard as well.

I know it is early and I know most want him gone, but he very well might be a backup when it is all said and done.As in make the final 53.

How many seasons did it take Tomlin to figure that one out? A welcome addition.

what about our 2 def. coord figure that out or our multiple cb coaches figure that out in the same time span.

I don't love tomlin by any means but he gets bitched at for interfering with the coordinators to much and not enough.

Likes:
- seeing the DBs taking chances early on.
- pony backfield
- moncrief in sync with Ben
- Ola saying Hola (hello) from the get go
- the kid Kelly taking the opportunity of his life and stepping up to it.

Thank You Litos for reminding me there are VERY many things to LIKE about this Training Camp.

I too am happy about the Moncrief / Ben connection. This could be a step closer to forgetting about the 2nd 1/2 of the meMEme twins (the 1st 1/2 has allready been forgotten).

Ola came to play and he is showing his stoutness and instinctive play. Getting on the field some last season has helped a big plus for him. I think it slowed the game down just a tad to a speed he can make big differences if given the chance. His stregnth has been commented on by others.

Other good things as well

Detailed day 3 notes from Alex Kozora. Everything I read that had to do with Bud Dupree seemed lackluster.

It's Ola's time to shine.
