Looks like the Steelers didn't want a repeat of last year. No *glaring* need now in the first round. Interesting this happened after Bush's pro day.

I am also told this doesn’t do a thing to the draft plans. #steelers are still looking at taking a highly touted LB.

No way is Metcalf there at 20. I wouldn’t take a WR in the 1st anyhow. Still go corner or LB in the first.

that's a reach in round 2.

By the way, nice signing, he was cut by the Rams right? He won't affect compensation picks next season
 
This takes Houston out of play more than likely. I think he goes to Ravens when it’s all said and done.

Coup is right, one has nothing to do with the other. Two different positions.
 
He was not a great S to start his career in Tampa, but when they slid him down into the box in STL as a rover LB he flourished. This is an awesome signing. If I had to guess I'd say he rotates in at ILB and plays nickel LB and roams the field a bit in the box like Polamalu used to. He's immediately our best cover LB.

Doesn't effect the compensation formula correct.

From what I read the Rams wanted him back, just at a lower price.
 
I don’t know why we are so obsessed with hybrid LB/S.. we already have Edmunds and Allen.. how well does Barron cover? I don’t know about this

Allen is a guaranteed nothing. Edmunds will stay in the more traditional SS position.

This replaces Fort and pretty much takes away Burnett. He’s a sub package linebacker.
