Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

Quick question we dont want to read up on our draft picks? Is it not easier to drop them here instead of multiple threads?

Nice try Vader. Your desperate attempts to somehow link Archer with players that came before him are entirely meaningless. He's not them, simple as that. Let Dri Archer show what he can do, why try to bring him down by making an asinine-link to other players, who aren't him? In your mind is Worilds exactly the same as Woodley, who's exactly the same as Gildon etc etc?

As much as it pains you, Dri Archer is the new kid on the block, here and now, 2014. Never played a down yet in the NFL. No relation whatsoever to Rainey, or to whoever else you want to connect him to.

Well, you see, one needs to compare him due to the fact that he hasn't taken a ************* NFL snap yet, though that hasn't stopped us from going on for 85 pages. This thing is like one of those ink blot tests, right now, he's a ******* ink blot, people hoping he'll suck like a hoover powered by the ******* sun are posting link after link to Chris R and yanking their cranks hoping he fails so they can drag up this ************ and have a nice big I told ya so at the expense of both the Steelers organisation, the fans, and the team. That's fine if that's what makes your wood stand up and take notice. I've never been built like that, because as much as I know it's a real possibility he'll suck, I hold out the hope that he'll get on the field and kick ***. I don't know if he will or not, but I'd rather hope for that, and be right, than hope for the alternative.

Now I know, I'm going to get "oh, take your steeler colored glasses off" bullshit, and the "typical Tomlin lover" and all the other horseshit, and maybe, just maybe, if the guy comes out and stinks it up for a year or two, and I'm pining for them to resign him THEN you can toss all those labels out there.

Right now, hoping he does well, and looking for similarities to other guys who HAVE DONE WELL, is, well, kind of what I would expect someone to do that was hoping their team would succeed this year.

I'm not saying we're going to suck if he flops, but gee, might we not suck just a little less if he does do well?

Eh, what the **** do I know, I watch the games hoping for a win every Sunday, not looking for a ************* "I got ya" to come on here and piss in everyone's face about. When they are one in the same, that can indeed make me happy, when the "I got ya" comes at the price of the Steelers success, well, I just don't seem to be able to take much joy in that.

Hoping he plays well isn't the same as pointing out that 99% of the players his size don't make it in the NFL. I didn't like the pick. I gave reason why I didn't like the pick. Others compared him to players of similar size. Why can't I do the same? OH because a few fucktards don't like it? Then I get branded a "hater" just because the same circle jerk can't stand the fact someone doesn't bow at the black and gold alter? People that can't give an honest opinion because all they see is black and gold. Bunch of hypocrites. Yes, they can compare him to other players but they squeal like little girls when someone else does it.

I've already discussed my allegiance to the Steelers. I don't need to defend it. But I'm not going to tow the company line when I don't like a draft pick. You people act like school girls. If the clowns had taken him you wouldn't think so highly of him. Right? But somehow because the Steelers drafted him it changes your entire scouting process. Well for those of you who even knew who he was before he was drafted.

It's a slippery slope to assume "hatred" let alone doubt a guy's fandom.
 
I see both sides to this equation.

I didn't necessarily like the pick because of the Chris Rainey debacle.

However, since I have no say in the matter, I will just pound a few more beers and hope Dri Archer is the second coming of Speedy ******* Gonzalez!
