Major reach. Reid, Harrison, Bates among others ranked higher than him by everyone but the Steelers.

I'd say its a F'n MAJOR reach. This guys was viewed as a rounds 2-3 type of player. I had him mocked in round three for us.
 
I wi say they did homework on all available safeties and still took him which should say something. Colbert has proven himself over the years and trust his judgement in talent.

Yes, Colbert has been excellent in round one, but the stench of Jones and Hood still linger. I hope this guy does't add to it.

Geez Coach! Give Kevin, Tomlin and the scouts some credit for picking this kid. I think they have just a bit more info on these kids then our mocks.
This kid has the speed, burst, size and can hang with the TE’s.
I’m fine with the pick and trust their evaluation process so let’s give the kid a chance.

He's not a bad player, or choice if this was round 2 or 3. But for round one over Reid, Harrison and Bates? I'll have to look at the film clips in the AM. What made him so special?

Maybe, just maybe Edmunds will start over Sean Davis this year. As we know Im not very high on Davis, and view him as a 3rd type of safety. The Steelers didn't shell out big bucks for Morgan Burnett to be a back up.

Ohh, this can be soon rich. :popcorn2: Davis a 2nd round pick soon to be demoted to back up status? If your 1st round pick isn't starting by year two, most view him as a disappointment. So what will be be? Davis demoted, or Edmunds a 1st round disappointment?

The third choice is both make the pro bowl, somehow I don't think that will happen.

That youtube link was good. A lot of those hits he made will draw flags in today's nfl.
 
FeDerius Terrell Edmunds is an elite athlete and hey ladies, his hands are 10 1/2 inches which is freakishly large for a guy 6 ft tall.

Here's his elite measurables. Look at thos %tiles compared to other safeties in this draft. He has long arms, huge hands, fast, and explosive
