Bell can only play for the Franchise Tag this season. Seriously though. How many times do you have to be told this?

Actually, I think they can pay him more than the franchise amount, if they so choose. It would still be a one-year deal. It would still be a "franchise tag", but theoretically, the Steelers could bump up the money from $14.5 million (whatever it is) to $16 million or something and still be within the rules.

There are in the area of 12M under. Figure a little for the season and they are looking at around 9M to spend. No availble FA's are worth that right now (there is a reason they are not signed). This is either internal or a trade.

I am hoping that they are trading for Earl Thomas. Having him back at FS would make our D many times better. We just rescind the tag on Bell and give his money to Earl. Make it happen Steelers!

back to the OP - the Cam restructure was to make room under this year's cap and it only got us to just over 4M per Dale Lolley over at DK Sports. Overthecap.com reflects that now as well; I think they were previously behind in updates (not shocking given all the teams they have to update after cuts).
